Each day we wake up wondering what challenge will we be presented to us today by an out of control madman in the Oval Office. A convicted felon president who would have us believe that the food we just bought with our own real money, was not less affordable than last month because we have somehow become unwitting actors in a Democrat hoax?
We are living in a state of distorted reality where government fiscal data has become the prize in an economic treasure hunt as economists are forced to plan in the dark. A reality in which lies if told often enough become truth, until the ACTUAL TRUTH comes knocking.
We have reached a point where egregious acts of unbridled corruption are being enabled by the highest court in the land. A point where economic reality has been banished from the conversation, replaced by a fantasy narrative that defies logic, while all the evidence screams that America is drowning in an ocean of its own debt.
The Good Ship Trump is taking on debt by the trillion and the bilge pumps have failed. Deficits are climbing while China’s trade SURPLUS passes $1 trillion for the first time. Yet more proof that the new 18% national sales tax masquerading as tariffs are being paid by Americans NOT China.
The midterm iceberg approaches as the Republican caucus shuffles the deck chairs on the upper deck in preparation for the sinking of their political careers. Meanwhile Trump has thrown on a dress, loaded all the money he’s made in office into a lifeboat, shouting ‘women and children first’.
Maybe it’s time to take a moment and ask WFT went wrong? Did we really spend $179 billion on deporting 14% of the US workforce that pay $90 billion each year in federal and state taxes? America is in the midst of a stupidity epidemic for which there appears to be no vaccine.
I have little doubt Trump and those brave enough to stick with him are finished and it’s just a matter of time. However, the real question is, how long will it take to recover from the immeasurable damage he’s caused?
Let’s be very clear. America is NOT hot, other than from the heat of a scorched earth campaign waged to set fire to American values and alliances built over almost a century. Trump has shattered the reputation of the United States as a result of running a transnational criminal extortion gang from the Oval Office.
In an unprecedented betrayal of European allies whose men and women died alongside U.S. soldiers on the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq, Trump has irrevocably damaged alliances that delivered peace and prosperity to the world after World War II.
