If you’re looking for a summary on an issue that just won’t go away for Trump here it is.
It seems inevitable to me that he is going to be forced to deal with this, but I’ve thought this before and he’s slithered his way out of it. He’s certainly doing his best as usual to play the hoax card.
While those around him are true to form closing ranks, many in his base are not playing ball. Trump has escaped justice time and time again on sexual assault accusations. This is certainly an exercise to test the power he has as president to use his office to avoid having to address what are clearly longstanding questions.
All this while the country is imploding from his mismanagement of the country. While he has the right to the presumption of innocence, he does not have the right to escaped justice if he was involved in perpetrating criminal acts of sexual assaults on minors. For that there should be no hiding place regardless of your status.
The simple way to deal with this is to release the information. Otherwise I fear it will not go away. His base simply won’t allow it.
