The U.S. may boast about being the biggest economy in the world. It might me rich, but it’s only operating to serve the top 10%.
This clip opens the window onto Norway and its approach to society. Now before you say Norway is a tiny country so it’s an unfair comparison. This is not about size it’s about structure.
Norway has a universal healthcare system and free education including higher education
Their income tax rate is 22% with an additional levy for National Insurance of 7.7%
The BIG asset Norway has is its Sovereign Wealth Fund and you can see from this clip featuring the excellent Simon Reeve that this is the engine that provides so much value added to the economy. @simon_reeve
What might not have escaped your attention is Trump is looking to have a US sovereign wealth fund. The difference being it is unlikely to serve the people as the the Norwegian SWF does. It will have a direct connection to Trump’s back pocket.
I’d highly recommend his Scandinavia documentary series. On BBC (not sure on US access, but perhaps someone could let me know?)
