WHAT HAPPENED TO US? WE ALLOWED A CHARLATAN AND A TYRANT TO STEAL OUR HUMANITY WITH LIES AND HATRED FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
This was not my intended post for today, but I was so deeply moved by the testimony of these hero medical professionals I just had to sit down and write.
Let me begin by thanking Rachel Gilmore on TikTok for sharing this clip and for like me never being fearful to speak out from the beginning of this murderous and continuous act of vengeful retribution by Netanyahu and his acolytes.
I and those I respect who have spoken out, have without exception unreservedly condemned HAMAS for the war crimes they perpetrated on innocent Israeli men women and children on October 7 2023. I can’t speak for others, but I accepted Israel had the right to deliver a proportionate response to the heinous crimes committed against its citizens.
I said this of the Israeli victims on October 10th 2023 on X
“The mightiest armies can rain down death and destruction, but when the dust settles and the news cameras move on, the age old words will echo from the broken landscape, ‘let my people go’, before once more, the cycle of hate is resurrected and played out yet again.
My heart breaks for those who’s lives will never be the same. For the bedrooms that will be frozen in time, for the deafening silence that loss delivers. Loved ones who days ago were part of the fabric of daily family life, will become a fading circle drawn on a calendar each year.
There are no winners in war. No winners in the battle for ideological ambition. Just broken hearts and dying flowers littered in the graveyard that is history. So listen not to the false prophet politicians promising solutions. THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.”
My views have not changed. Netanyahu saw this as nothing more than an opportunity to raise Gaza to the ground and rid Israel of their ‘Palestinian problem’ I knew then that there would be no proportionate response. Instead, all we got were calculated and deliberate lies about 40 beheaded babies and a baby cooked in an oven.
These were lies to provide a comfort blanket to Israel’s allies who were about to support what Netanyahu knew would be a premeditated act of mass murder.
Their propaganda machine was so effective, it suppressed media coverage of people protesting on streets around the world. Concerned citizens were labeled as HAMAS supporters, students were rounded up as antisemites and accusations of antisemitism are still used to suppress legitimate free speech in support of the Palestinian people and their right to self determination.
The Israeli government banned the international press from Gaza to enable them to commit their war crimes in the dark. Those that could report it have been systematically and deliberately targeted. Not just them but their families too.
The International Criminal Court indicted Netanyahu for crimes against humanity based on irrefutable evidence. The power of the Israeli state was on full show following the indictment, when the U.S. government issued sanctions against the court for having the audacity to tell the truth.
The Israeli government may have been able to stop the international press from bearing witness to their acts of unbridled barbarism, but they could not stop doctors, nurses and surgeons from around the world bearing witness despite extreme risk to their own lives.
It is their testimony that allow the nonbelievers to finally believe what they had already witnessed from Palestinian journalists yet chose to ignore.
What have we become that the life of a Palestinian child is worth NOTHING? What have we become when the deliberate starvation of children is normalized by propaganda?
I have no words for who we have become.
Please take a moment to listen to the testimony of these hero medical professionals. Do this in memory of the over 38,000 dead women and children forced to pay the price for the actions of others, and for those yet to be found whose broken bodies lie beneath the lunar landscape that is now Gaza.
We owe every one of these heroes a deep debt of gratitude for their service to humanity and for placing their lives at risk every day to save strangers in a foreign land.
