Every day, a president living in the departure lounge of life spins Americans a ‘jam tomorrow’ yarn, telling them they will soon have more money than they know what to do with, that they will get a non-existent DOGE dividend or a tariff bonus. How many lies does he have to tell before you realise he’s a pathological liar?
He sends his sycophants out every day to say that foreign countries are paying the tariffs while he has his hand in your back pocket. He’s not draining the swamp; he’s draining the bank accounts of lower and middle-income earners and laughing while he does it. He has to create this fantasy of well-being narrative for the con to work, and half the population are gorging themselves on delusion.
Too many Americans have no idea what is going on behind the performative mass deportations and military occupations facing communities up and down the country, as the administration paints blue states as a refuge for communist lovers of immigrant terrorists. Never forget, Stephen Miller was once caught on a hot mic stating:
“Am I the only one who is sick and tired of being told to pick up my trash when we have plenty of janitors who are paid to do this?”
He’s the guy who praised RFK Jr. as a “crown jewel” in the Trump administration. Yes, the very man who said, “We need to stop trusting the experts”, is a real diamond, alright. As Miller describes him, Secretary Kennedy was one of the world's foremost experts on public health. It’s like describing the village arsonist as a renowned fire safety advocate.
Let’s be clear, Miller, who is now the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the United States, is allowed to make statements like the one below, which he did on the Hannity show on Fox, unchallenged:
“The Democratic Party does not fight for, care about or represent American citizens. It is an entity devoted exclusively to the defence of hardened criminals, gangbangers and illegal alien killers and terrorists. The Democratic Party is not a political party, it is a domestic extremist organisation”, he continues, “ If your cities are violent, as these Democrat cities are, more violent than Baghdad. More violent than communities in Ethiopia, and some of the most dangerous places on planet earth. They are more dangerous than Mexico City, which is run by criminal cartels.”
His words unquestionably reflect the position of an administration that has installed a warlord in the White House, a guy drunk on his alleged ability to oversee 50 feudal subjugated provinces in what is now a global thiefdom. The reason I draw your attention to the language used is that, as I previously wrote, the intention is to associate Democrats with supporting crime and terrorism. While you and I know this to be preposterous, half of America is buying what they are selling.
It’s all about normalising a military presence on the streets and the use of military checkpoints. Care will be taken to deploy National Guards from red states to blue cities, because they will bring with them their political bias and look on the residents of these cities as their enemy. After all, that’s the MAGA narrative. This, in my opinion, is a hazardous step which could lead to the military engaging in political violence, which they deem to be justified.
You can rest assured that come election time, the military will be deployed to protect polling places from what they will describe as Democrats looking to steal the election. We will be transported back to the days of the voting rights movement when voter intimidation was part of everyday life and black people were asked to count the number of jellybeans in a jar. The very thought of it fills me with a sense of dread.
These escalating military actions are designed to create a sense of perpetual anxiety and keep your mind off an economy that has wandered into an economic minefield, taking your life savings with it. Will the next election, if there is one, be all about democracy or the economy? Right now, the Democratic Party is tearing itself apart trying to decide which. Can I be so bold as to suggest that walking and chewing gum at the same time is possible?
Right now, it’s essential to watch the economy because on this Labour Day, let us not lose sight of the fact that Trump intends to perpetrate a holocaust on unions and workers’ rights, not to mention deregulation. As reported in the New York Times by Erik Loomis, a historian of labour who writes extensively about unions, politics and workers, which I have gifted here so you can read it without the paywall:
Mr. Trump and his administration have unilaterally stripped collective bargaining rights from hundreds of thousands of federal workers. At the Department of Veterans Affairs alone, 400,000 workers, or 2.8 percent of America’s unionized workers, have lost their collective bargaining rights because of an executive order that will eventually affect more than one million federal workers. Mr. Trump ushered in Labor Day weekend on Thursday by continuing his assault of federal unions, adding the Patent Office, NASA and the National Weather Service to his list of targeted agencies.
He is intent on the obliteration of workers' rights, and don’t be surprised if he abolishes the minimum wage too. Trump is mounting an all-out assault on the economic foundations that have guided monetary policy for decades, and there are no rules of engagement.
On August 30th, the Guardian reported:
What would Reagan make of a country that, in a matter of weeks, became the largest shareholder in a microchip manufacturer; demanded a cut of firms’ overseas sales in exchange for export licenses; and fired a statistics official after government data embarrassed its ruling party?
In just the past week, senior government officials in the country have pushed to exert control over its central bank; ordered a tech giant to strike a deal with a supportive media conglomerate; and successfully urged a restaurant chain to reverse a rebrand.
Just last month, a proposal by Zohran Mamdani to create five city-owned grocery stores was described by Republican Mike Lawler as “straight out of the Marxist playbook”, he went on to say. “New Yorkers deserve solutions, not socialist fantasies”. Meanwhile, Chairman Trump converted $9bn in what were grants to Intel into a 10% stake in the chipmaker.
In an additional move towards state-controlled capital, Nvidia and AMD were coerced by Chairman Trump into paying a 10% protection money tax in return for granting them an export license to sell chips to China. Scott Bessent later stated that Trump believed it could be a valuable model for other exporting companies. Let’s be clear, no American is safe from the criminal extortion gang being led from the Oval Office. Trump is playing Russian Roulette with your money, and I have to say, I don’t like your odds.
This economic opportunism does not stop there, and if there is one move I would urge you to pay particularly close attention to, it’s an executive order dated August 7, 2025, that has largely slipped under the radar.
I would like to emphasise the risks associated with opening 401(k)s to private equity. This executive order opens up potential access to $10 trillion, of which your retirement nest egg is part. There is a good reason these funds have been off limits to predatory financial instruments, and it is no secret that lobbying firms for private equity have spent generously on buying politicians to gain access. They spent $21 million last year alone. Of course, we will never know if these firms have used Trump’s crypto scam to grease the skids too, but this executive order opens a door they have long sought the keys to.

What I need you to understand is that Trump has just thrown private equity a lifeline, as their asset-stripping model for profit has hit a brick wall; they need a new mark, because they are sitting on $3 trillion of unsold companies, which is double what it was in 2019. Liam Proud from Reuters describes the situation in a headline titled ‘Buyout barons risk choking on their stuck assets’.
To be clear, private equity funding dropped 23% in 2024, attracting only $401 billion, the lowest amount raised since 2020. I highly recommend you read the full article. You can see from the chart below that buyout exits have slumped.
So they are looking for fresh grass on which to feed, and Farmer Don has just driven a tractor full of your retirement pots into the feeding trough to provide them with sustenance. This is nothing short of a rescue package/bailout wrapped in an executive order, and alarm bells should be ringing everywhere right now.
They are not satisfied with removing your healthcare and jacking up consumer prices; they are potentially bailing out the private equity bottom feeders with your retirement savings. This is once again about privatising profits and socialising losses just as in 2008, and we should be terrified.
Much like the banks in 2008 destroyed the lives of so many 2008, this move, in my opinion, sets the stage for them to steal from your retirement funds and walk away if all goes bad. I suggest steering well clear of private equity investments with your 401(k). DO NOT gamble with your retirement. I can guarantee snake oil charlatan financial advisors will be offering you profits on your pension pot that seem beyond attractive. They will do this in the same way subprime mortgages were sold to people who could not afford to pay their payments once the discount period ended. They will be getting BIG commissions and walking away.
I don’t care if you disagree with my politics, I am providing this advice for FREE because Trump is setting up private equity to legally steal your money with no accountability if it goes wrong, and it WILL go wrong.
You don’t have to just sit there and keep taking the punches. If you want to bring this government to its knees, all you need to do is stop spending on anything other than essentials. Your spending is the fuel that is keeping this government alive; without it, it will fiscally bleed out. In any case, you should be saving money right now, as things are going to start getting tough pretty soon. Those who can build up an emergency reserve by saving money they had planned to save will, by their actions, deprive the administration of the fiscal oxygen it needs to function. You need to stop thinking you are powerless and embrace the fact that governments govern by consent. It’s time to withdraw yours.
