As we begin another day of the same old lies and state-sponsored exploitation, I am very mindful of the sense of despair that’s creeping into the lives of Americans. Most just want a break from the never-ending consequences of the abject failure by the President of the United States to protect those he was elected to serve. Trump has become so detached from reality that he says he ‘loves inflation’ and thinks an ever-expanding trade deficit is some sort of badge of honour.
Mr President, that’s NOT a good thing; the whole purpose of the tariffs was to REDUCE the trade deficit, NOT increase it. He is so desperate for a win that he’ll point to anything he perceives to be one, even when it’s clearly not. Some would be embarrassed, but I suppose when you’ve made 40 claims that a deal with Iran is imminent and daren’t show the world the text of that deal, embarrassment is not something you ever feel. One can only assume that at some point, he will have no alternative but to face the truth; unlike a stopped clock, he’s not even right once a day.
The danger is that we fall into the trap of allowing him to remain the focus of everything. I refuse to give in to that temptation because to pander to the village idiot serves no useful purpose. The truth is, despite everything that’s happening, the power still rests with the people for now. I understand it’s hard to believe at times when it feels we are all passengers on a runaway train destined for economic slavery, but the late great John Lewis was absolutely correct when he said:
“The vote is precious. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it.”
I know it’s not the same for everyone, but I am in love with the spoken word, which is why Trump so often offends me beyond the fact that he’s a vile skid-mark on the reputation of America. Having spent well over two decades immersed in the creative industries in my former life, working with songwriters and performers in my reckless days of excess, I developed a passion not just for music but for poetry and oratory. There is no better example of oratory than John Lewis’ address to the DNC in 2012. Those on the right side of history today should listen to every word spoken by a great civil rights leader and ingest it as fuel for the battle ahead, because this is destined to be a defining moment in American politics.
History will reflect on this moment with a sense of incredulity that one man could lead the world to the brink of man-made geopolitical collapse. The burning question will be, what did we do as a society when faced with the choice between protecting the have-nots and pandering to the have-yachts? To watch the mainstream media and the markets amplify the lies and manipulation of a madman, is to witness the total collapse of logic and common sense, but more importantly, an abdication of social responsibility. There is a sickening, twisted irony that the American people are being given the same as the sign read over Auschwitz, "Arbeit macht frei" (Work will set you free). The ‘jam tomorrow’ messaging is as true today as it was when the Third Reich coined it in 1940, when the death camp was built.
Just as Hitler did with the 1936 Olympics, so Trump is doing with the 250th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the United States of America. He has decided to take what should be a day of national pride and turn it into a nationalist propaganda fest celebrating what he perceives as HIS achievements. I would note that these are as illusive as his healthcare plan, not the new one in which only the rich have access. This will be a self-congratulatory celebration built on a lie, just as was the Berlin Olympics in Nazi Germany. It’s bizarrely like a Disney rendition of ‘The King’s New Clothes’. As a testament to just how sad a moment it will be, world leaders will show up to pretend to be impressed by his pretend world in which he pretends to be a global leader of a hollowed-out nation pretending to be great again. There is no better metaphorical testament to his self-advocated success than his renovated blue reflecting pool, now turning ‘puke green’ as algae recolonise the space. Just something else he’s failed to control.
I dare say Trump will not be celebrating his $40 trillion of national debt, of which he has added $10.55 trillion since 2016. That’s 26.37% of the total. Of the $10.55 trillion, he has added $2.75 trillion of it in 2025 alone. This was the same year the wealth gap was at its widest in 40 years. By the third quarter of 2025, the top 1% held 31.7% of the total national wealth. The share of U.S. wealth held by the top 0.1% has grown by nearly 59.6% since 1989.
You will note from the graph above that the gap widened in Trump’s first term, but was derailed by his abject failure to address the COVID-19 pandemic, in which an estimated 250,000 Americans died unnecessarily. The really interesting thing that few are prepared to talk about is that during the Biden administration, the wealth gap rapidly regained ground, returning to the levels achieved under the first Trump presidency. If you look at the slight elevation of the bottom 50% during Biden’s tenure, you should be mindful that this was a time during which COVID relief was being injected into the economy.
The important point is that under Biden’s fastest post-pandemic recovery record, which was the envy of the world. The big winners were those at the top of the economic food chain, NOT the working and lower-middle class. As a result, we saw the emerging affordability crisis that Democrats were blind to during the election campaign. My greatest concern in this moment is that the Democratic establishment remains asleep at the wheel when it comes to the unsustainable levels of debt and the wealth gap. There remains absolutely no political appetite to address it from either side of the aisle.
In a piece written for inequality.org by Chuck Collins and Omar Ocampo in September 2025, they note:
The share of the U.S. wealth pie owned by the top 0.1 percent grew 59.6 percent from 1989 to 2024, according to an Institute for Policy Studies analysis of Federal Reserve data, while the share of the U.S. wealth pie owned by the bottom 50 percent of households has declined 26.1 percent, adjusted for inflation.
This wealth gap was imposed on the American people in just 37 years. For context, that’s about the same amount of time it took China to raise 800 million of its citizens out of poverty, according to the IMF. For further context, this achievement accounted for about three-quarters of the global reduction in extreme poverty during that period. If you want to see what progress looks like, this is it.
Collins and Oncampo go on to note:
In 1989, there were 66 US billionaires, according to Forbes Magazine, which started their Forbes 400 list in 1982. By September 29, 2025, there were 905 billionaires with a combined wealth of $7.8 trillion. The Fed data does not include a billionaire tier so it is difficult to get a full picture of their assets, but we can use Forbes’ Billionaire List as a proxy. One estimated comparison is that, in 2024, the wealthiest 1 percent held $50 trillion; the top 0.1 held $22.48 trillion, and 905 billionaires held $7.8 trillion.
[In contrast], the bottom 50 percent of households saw their share of the U.S. wealth pie shrink from 3.4 percent in 1989 to 2.5 percent in 2024, a decline of 26.1 percent.
Can you imagine the victimhood on display if the wealth of the top 10% had declined by 26%? It’s not until you see these numbers tabulated that you see the problems the many face as a result of the few.
The numbers are truly staggering, and this regime is fully on board with them. It means they have to worry about serving fewer people. What is truly amazing to me is that they have managed to convince 70+ million Americans that this is somehow a reflection of THEIR achievement, and that they too can join this elite group of rarified air breathers if they hate enough immigrants, gay people and ‘libtards’.
In the same way Trump has normalised the lie, the rich have normalised the wealth gap, and that is a MASSIVE problem. The level of inequality has always been structural in American society, and so has the absence of social justice. Let’s face it, Hitler admired the aims of Jim Crow America, even though at the time he thought it too extreme, believe it or not.
The problem America now faces is that truth is buried under an ocean of lies and misdirection. The media is largely silent or, at best, mildly critical. The whole social media landscape has been taken hostage by a regime intent on widening the wealth gap further with little regard for those left in the wake of its social Darwinism agenda. The concept of ruling by consent is hidden in a fog of Trump narcotics handed out for free via its social media dealer network.
I’m sure historians will look back on this moment with a sense of horror, as they study a time when America lost its mind, its moral decency, and its soul to a corrupt, malignant narcissist. A political thug convicted of 34 felony charges for deception-related offences. This was the moment in which Americans elected a convicted felon and corrupt pathological liar adjudicated to be a rapist, TWICE! Now call me old-fashioned, but that unquestionably supports the claim that America has suffered an epidemic of stupidity that has dealt a costly blow to the many at the hands of the chosen few.
The claim is always, ‘Don’t tell us what we already know; tell us how to fix it.’ The problem is that there is NO QUICK FIX, I’m afraid; we’re long past that. What the rich and powerful have achieved is the division of America, and that is a very deliberate act. The aim has always been to make someone else your enemy and not them. It takes a special kind of propaganda to make the middle class blame people with low incomes, people with disabilities, and the vulnerable for the perceived extinction of the middle class. It’s exactly what Hitler did. ‘Ah, but Trump didn’t murder six million Jews, ’ I hear you say. To which I say, he got a good start in his first term when he made grave diggers great again and saw off 250,000 Americans who didn’t need to die. Since then, he’s shuttered USAID; it’s estimated that between 600,000 and 780,000 people have died as a direct result, most of them children. I would respectfully suggest he’s well on his way. Don’t forget Trump hates to be beaten at anything.

What you have to remember is that he and his puppet masters’ aim is a feudal society where money talks and provides immunity from accountability. You will often hear the landed gentry sneeringly refer to the new wealthy as ‘new money’ or wealth without class. You only have to take a look at the decoration of the Oval Office as an example of what they mean. Frankly, this means nothing to the bottom 90% who don’t even register on their radar, other than as ‘the hired help’.
We absolutely MUST support a vibrant independent truth network, because without it, they win. Will you join our small but perfectly formed army of truth seekers?

We'd have to keep Republicans or their ilk. Out of power for the next 30 years just to begin healing all of the damage. I'm not sure that everybody is truly cognizant as to just how far we've fallen.
There is a quick fix, it's one day of 99% of people in the streets saying NO MORE TO THIS
