This is PART ONE of a two-part article.
The madness continues as the tsunami of revelations from the Epstein files flood the media zone. As the father of a daughter sexually abused by a neighbour, I understand the devastating impact of such unconscionable and sickening abuse. Even after the intervening 22 years since an event that shattered my family, hearing the accounts of the Epstein victims is like a dagger through the heart, as it stirs up the struggles to obtain justice after such crimes.
I know what it feels like to have a normal family life shattered by the police bringing home your daughter following a class discussion in which she gave voice to her abuse. I have never to this day been able to articulate that moment in which I felt I had failed in my primary role of protecting her from harm. It still haunts me to this day. You have to have experienced the unique anger, despair, and sense of failure of such a revelation to even begin to understand how it feels. Even then, it can’t begin to prepare you for what is all too often a spiral of challenges that can take relationships and family bonds to the very edge of destruction.
As a parent, there is no training for such a moment; there is no roadmap out of the mental disintegration that the brutal theft of innocence delivers to someone you love. Every parent wants to see the fruits of their love flourish and grow, so a child can fulfil their potential and live a happy life. Yet in one brutal moment, the dreams and reality diverge as the walls come tumbling down, and the road ahead descends into chaos. That’s what parents are for: to offer comfort when children fall, right?. It’s all part of the rich tapestry of life. Let me assure you that nothing can prepare you for this type of fall.
The outlook dramatically changes when the innocence of one of your fledglings is taken away from them in such a psychologically life-changing moment. Nothing is ever the same. In my daughter’s case, it manifested itself in deep bouts of depression, self-harm and drug abuse, and that’s only scratching the surface. I really don’t have the mental capacity to relive those years to share the experience, except to say one dark winter’s evening, the doorbell rang and there she was, a broken human being on the doorstep with her life in a black plastic sack, saying ‘I need help’.
That was the day that marked the beginning of a long and challenging road to recovery, laying the foundation for the life she now enjoys, with a good job and a loving relationship. I tell this story in a few paragraphs, but it took almost two decades to arrive at this moment. Be in no doubt, sexual abuse victims NEVER recover from their abuse; they just learn how to manage the hurt they feel every day. As a parent, it changes your life, too, because there isn’t a day that goes by that you don't ask yourself, " How did I let this happen? Why didn’t I do more to protect her?
It’s in moments like this when such high-profile child sexual abuse cases come to the fore that all those feelings come flooding back. I know there will be victims of abuse who will read this today and understand exactly what I’m talking about when I say to treat the Epstein files like the circus it has become, only serves to harm the victims further. This industrial-scale sexual abuse of children and young girls by these rich and powerful has become a feeding frenzy, and I hate to say, not in support of the countless children, but rather in search of profit, followers and clicks. The suffering of the victims has simply become a business opportunity or a political point-scoring exercise.
I would say to any reader who is inspired to become a paid subscriber to Truth Matters as a result of reading this post, to instead make a donation to a child trafficking and exploitation charity like Our Rescue, or a charity of your choice. I believe child abuse reporting should NEVER be monetised, and anyone seeking to profit from it should take a long, hard look in the mirror. This is NOT a commercial opportunity; it’s a crime against humanity, and I, for one, have no interest in selling seats to read my thoughts. It’s not ‘breaking news’ to talk about child exploitation; it’s going on around us every day, perpetrated by people we thought we knew.
I have deliberately steered away from extensive commentary on Epstein having only engaged with it on a couple of previous occasions. As a result of what my daughter has suffered over the years, I find it really difficult to discuss it from any other point of view than that of the victims. The fact that the decades long suffering of Epstein’s victims is being used as a weapon to bring down a president frankly sickens me. Yes, Trump MUST be held accountable for the part he clearly appears to have played in this industrial scale abuse, but he is just one player in a cast of what I suspect was hundreds.
It remains for me an indictment on the Democratic Party that the best hope they think they have to defeat Trump is through historic child sexual abuse allegations. I have no words for the level of desperation I feel that in a country where a convicted criminal is running a transnational criminal extortion gang from ‘The People’s House’, the opposition’s only hope lies in attempting to shame a man incapable of shame from office. Let’s be clear, despite all the bluster and angst, NOTHING is going to happen because the DOJ is running interference and the Assistant Attorney General’s conclusion is that:
“The American people need to understand that it isn’t a crime to party with Mr. Epstein.”
The DOJ has already broken the law by failing to release the files by the deadline set out in the "Epstein Files Transparency Act" (H.R. 4405). While I have no problem with anyone keeping this story front and centre in the news cycle, we should be honest with ourselves and admit that the victims have become secondary to attempting to bring down Trump and that for me is a crime in itself. The suffering of these women is immeasurable, the very least they deserve is our full undivided commitment to justice being delivered.
The extent of the abuse is truly staggering. This was a global business operation offering an exclusive À La Carte menu of sexual abuse for the personal gratification of the rich and powerful. From bankers to presidents to princes, it is a stain on our society that at every twist and turn, the law itself protects the rich and powerful accountability, while throwing the victims under the bus. It seems pretty clear to me that all those who belonged to this exclusive sexual abuse club, had knowledge of what was happening. I really don’t care if you physically participated in the abuse, knowledge it was taking place deems you complicit in the abuse. Never has there been a better example of a joint enterprise crime.
The reason Trump is terrified behind the scenes despite his outward bluster is that this is about much more than sex trafficking and abuse. The sexual abuse was just one of the perks of a cabal of rich and powerful people who Epstein cultivated as part of what I believe was a global blackmail brokerage. The island and the parties were all venues at which to gather and play poker with capital and power, while having access to children and young girls to use and abuse at will, but it was much more than that. As reported by David Charter, The Times Washington correspondent on February 3rd 2025:
‘There are 1,056 mentions of Putin and almost 10,000 references to Moscow, including suggestions of potential meetings with Putin.’
The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said:
“More and more leads, more and more information, and more and more commentary in the global press all relate to the suspicion that this unprecedented paedophilia scandal was co-organised by Russian intelligence services,”
The Times reporting continues:
The type of photographs taken by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as the personal secrets he learnt, suggested a harvesting of kompromat, Russian for compromising material, of the type gathered by Moscow’s FSB security agency to blackmail people.
This is such a web of deceit and espionage that nobody wants to open pandora’s box for fear of what it might reveal that makes the sexual abuse just a small part of something much bigger.
In PART TWO of this series, which I’ll post on Friday, I want to go beyond the sex and into the world of geopolitical deceit and posturing. This for me, is the whole reason we will NEVER get to the bottom of what appears to be massive geopolitical viper’s nest which if laid bare may have unspeakable consequences. To think of the Epstein files as a sext trafficking scandal is in my opinion to miss what’s really going on here.
I just want to reassure you that my daily posts will resume from next Monday. I just need to manage the continued recovery of my injured hand. I don’t want to push too hard and then be unable to type again for a week.

The understanding that the Epstein circle had as much to do with Putin ordered surveillance, kompromat and power mongering/blackmail is key to realizing why the cover will NEVER be taken off, the truth revealed, the extent known. Those in high places such as our leader are fighting for their lives, and they know it. They have been compromised and will abuse the entire world in order to save themselves, their power, their fortunes. Think of them as feral, as a cornered rat being threatened, and you will understand their mentality. Trump will do whatever his fevered brain concocts in order to amass as much money as he can and to stay in office in order to avoid paying the price of his decisions, surrounded by Secret Service and an army of ICE agents who must protect this despicable excuse for a human, coddled by a hand picked Supreme Court, with deep pockets to pay OFF whomever or pay FOR whatever. But just because this is true does not mean the rest of us shouldn’t do as much revealing and damage as we can, flex our collective moral muscle, counter his plans with plans that protect the people and the country. It is encouraging that European countries are beginning to investigate that which our country never will. Perhaps what they find will be what takes down the wall of protection surrounding our leader. One can only hope they have true moral fiber and guts of steel.
Most of us can only guess at the degree of trauma you and your daughter still live with every day and the level of courage required to write this piece. Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you can both find some peace.
