What a compelling story. Simple, mysterious, leaves us all wanting more. Clearly a family that I would love to know who I envy for having done so much for the world. I hope she will continue the story and that her daughter finds peace and happiness in this deteriorating world!

Anna’s story just broke me. Thank you for sharing it, though.

I love the article. As a girl mom and grandma who also resonates passionately to protect the ideal of the Pursuit of Happiness, I am deeply disappointment in boys who have not been taught to become men. There is something in the nature of how we have developed/ been enslaved to a particular kind of capitalistic brand that weakens the social fabric. I do think this article continues to points to the character building taught by the Stoics, who underpin the ideals in the Pursuit of Happiness. We must revive teaching them.

Great idea, Martin. As I wrote a couple of days ago on ournewrealityThePlasticene, there are so many very good writers here who don't recognize their own worth, and who get lost in the crowd.

Excellent read! Thank you for introducing this writer to us. I need to get back to reading more inspiring and non-fiction literature like this excerpt. That’s my goal for 2026: to be informed, but not suffocated w/‘the news’. This past year has been extremely challenging, and that’s putting it lightly!! Thank you.

I absolutely get it and that’s why I want to provide some light and shade given my work often is so often challenging to read.

There is some outstanding talent out there and if I can do my little bit to give voice to that talent, it’s the very least I can do. - HAPPY NEW YEAR my friend.

I love what you are doing here and appreciate being able to benefit from your curation. Thank you! I look forward to being introduced to more great writers.

Thank you so much Jerri, I have to admit to being a little nervous that people might think it presumptuous that I am giving them things to read.

But I figured I give people things to watch listen to and read every day. So why not take that extra step and feature the work of writers whose work has spoken to me.

The response is fantastic, I’m so pleased and it gives me the confidence to continue to develop the idea.

I appreciate your feedback and I have encouraged the author to introduce herself in the comments and engage with the outstanding feedback to her moving piece.

I am merely a facilitator in this expanded role.

This piece so clearly expresses my concern over my own family’s “Anna”. I definitely am very concerned about my own granddaughter’s future, far more than I ought to need to be!
