EUGENICS: the study of how to arrange reproduction within a human population to increase the occurrence of heritable characteristics regarded as desirable. Developed largely by Sir Francis Galton as a method of improving the human race, eugenics was increasingly discredited as unscientific and racially biased during the 20th century, especially after the adoption of its doctrines by the Nazis in order to justify their treatment of Jews, disabled people, and other minority groups.
Let’s be clear, Eugenics is nothing new in America. You don’t have to look much further than a Library of Congress entry, where you will find:
In the early 20th century, eugenics "pseudoscientists" sought to breed the perfect human race.
The notes go on:
Engineering a new aristocracy of "human thoroughbreds" might sound like something from a science fiction novel, but at the beginning of the 20th century, many Americans sought to do just that through the new pseudoscience of Eugenics. Eugenics, a process that sought to "purify" the human race through scientifically calculated breeding, became immensely popular in the United States and resulted in a smattering of scientific societies and contests to determine the family with the purest genes.
For those who claim eugenics is not in play with this administration, I highly recommend the 2021 paper by Samuel R. Bagenstos, entitled "The New Eugenics," from the University of Michigan Law School. It’s essential to understand the deeply embedded systemic racism woven into the structural foundation of Trump’s new America.
While Trump and his administration are taking every step to whitewash American history, from the genocide of the indigenous population to slavery to segregation, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that the likes of Stephen Miller are all in on the creation of an American Aryan nation. Now you can turn around and say ‘Stop being ridiculous’, but tell me, is the Ku Klux Klan dead? Has white supremacy made a resurgence under Trump? The simple answer is YES. It is pretty clear that many of these new alleged ICE Agents are being recruited from groups that have little time for immigrants or the rule of law, and the administration is creating a permissive environment in which they can operate.
In an article in The Hill on 24th July, Sarah Fortinzki leads with the headline:
‘Whites-only’ community seeks Missouri expansion
She goes on to report:
A “whites-only” group called Return to the Land (RTTL), derided by critics as racist and antisemitic, is looking to expand its reach from its base in northern Arkansas to an area near Springfield, Mo., a co-founder of the group said recently.
The co-founder of the group, Eric Orwoll, stated:
“We want to ensure that white Americans who value their ancestry will have the ability to live among like-minded people in the future if they choose to do so, regardless of demographic changes.”
He goes on to say:
“Whites should have the ability to live among their own people if that’s what they want to do, and mass immigration is quickly making that nearly impossible in many Western nations,”
The intention appears to be to ‘coordinate homeschool groups, health care networks, legal advocacy groups and more — all of which would be barred to people of colour.’ Additionally, the group plans to expand beyond the state to acquire land and establish a presence in all 50 states. I’m sure Stephen Miller will be happy to invest. The reason these groups feel emboldened is that this administration is creating a permissive environment to spread their racial hatred.
There have been recent symbolic changes by the administration itself. For example, to no longer ban the provision of ‘segregated facilities’ in federal contracts. In effect, the federal government no longer explicitly prohibits federal contractors from having segregated restaurants, waiting rooms and drinking fountains. You can read more details in a report by Selena Simmons-Duffin from NPR in a piece updated on 20th March.
The segregation clause is one of several identified in a public memo issued by the General Services Administration last month, affecting all civil federal agencies. The memo explains that it is making changes prompted by President Trump's executive order on diversity, equity and inclusion, which repealed an executive order signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965 regarding federal contractors and nondiscrimination. The memo also addresses Trump's executive order on gender identity.
What I want you to recognise is the startling similarities between Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s and Trump’s America in this moment. Hitler established the Gestapo, and while some Democrat politicians have sparked controversy by comparing ICE to the Gestapo, it really is not an unreasonable claim to make. There has been much speculation about Trump’s interest in ‘Mein Kampf’, but long before that discussion, back in 2004, there was a fascinating Guardian article by Edwin Black in which it was noted:
‘… how Adolf Hitler's race hatred was underpinned by the work of American eugenicists’
The article continues:
As America's eugenics movement gathered pace, it inspired a host of imitators. In France, Belgium, Sweden, England and elsewhere in Europe, cliques of eugenicists did their best to introduce eugenic principles into national life; they could always point to recent precedents established in the United States.
It duly notes that, contrary to the origins of now Nazi attributed terms, the references came from US eugenicists:
As America's elite were describing the socially worthless and the ancestrally unfit as "bacteria," "vermin," "mongrels" and "subhuman", a superior race of Nordics was increasingly seen as the answer to the globe's eugenic problems. US laws, eugenic investigations and ideology became blueprints for Germany's rising tide of race biologists and race-based hatemongers.
Hitler was no stranger to the events unfolding in America. Indeed, he held great admiration for the work of eugenicists.
Hitler proudly told his comrades how closely he followed American eugenic legislation. "Now that we know the laws of heredity," he told a fellow Nazi, "it is possible to a large extent to prevent unhealthy and severely handicapped beings from coming into the world. I have studied with interest the laws of several American states concerning prevention of reproduction by people whose progeny would, in all probability, be of no value or be injurious to the racial stock."
You may be surprised to note that the feelings were apparently mutual:
Most of all, American raceologists were proud to have inspired the strictly eugenic state the Nazis were constructing. In those early years of the Third Reich, Hitler and his race hygienists carefully crafted eugenic legislation modelled on laws already introduced across America and upheld by the supreme court. Nazi doctors, and even Hitler himself, regularly communicated with American eugenicists from New York to California, ensuring that Germany would scrupulously follow the path blazed by the US. American eugenicists were eager to assist.
Back to the present day, I highly recommend reading this piece from The Conversation by Daniel H. Magilow, Professor of German at the University of Tennessee. In terms of credentials, Daniel is a scholar of modern Germany and the Holocaust, so I think we can safely assume he has some knowledge in this area.
So who were the Gestapo? Daniel writes :
‘The Nazi regime established the Gestapo, short for the German phrase Geheime Staatspolizei, meaning secret state police, soon after Hitler became chancellor of Germany in January 1933. Among other responsibilities, the Gestapo was tasked with investigating political crimes and monitoring opposition activity. It later enforced racial laws in Germany and across occupied Europe.’
The comparisons made in these challenging times are not limited to Democrats; Trump accused Biden of running a ‘Gestapo Administration’ when he was facing criminal charges he falsely felt were being driven by the Administration. That’s before we talk about Marjorie Taylor Greene’s ‘gazpacho police’ accusations.
Daniel goes on to note:
‘Overall, mentions of the word Gestapo in social media increased by 184% between 2017 and 2024, according to the nonprofit group Foundation to Combat Antisemitism.’
I’ll leave you to be the judge as to whether the comparisons are relevant. I feel they are not too much of a stretch if we examine the behaviour of ICE. This is about deploying a ‘state security apparatus,’ and I believe the intent is to go beyond immigration enforcement as Trump or his successor becomes bolder in their approach. Daniel sees a better comparison as East Germany’s Stasi during the Cold War, a comparison I have also made recently.
The other point he raises, which I thought important, was:
‘….In June 2020, the first Trump administration reclassified ICE, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, as a “security/sensitive agency.” This designation makes it harder for people to request and receive information about ICE’s work through Freedom of Information Act records requests.’
The problem with doing this job is that there are so many moving parts in this MAGA reimagining of America. It’s like peeling an onion; every time you think you have traced something back, another layer is revealed. It’s crucial to understand a couple of previously under-the-radar plans targeting the vulnerable. This is important because to understand the big-picture thinking of Project Esther, you must be aware of the infrastructure being put in place to support the convergence of extended mass incarceration and mass deportation. It’s all part of a new dystopian world I thought humanity had left behind.
In one of Trump’s latest daily dictats, we are slowly inching towards 1930s Germany, and tragically, we are living in a world where much of the population has disengaged with critical thinking, preferring instead to focus on tribal loyalty and social media dopamine hits. I keep returning to the name Russell Vought, the man in the shadows heading up a small group of dangerous thinkers’ vision of this dystopian transition to a ‘new America’. What I want to do once and for all is dispel any belief that Trump is the guy with a plan. He is merely the front for the likes of Thiel’s ‘Year Zero’ project. Trump has been deliberately put there to be the bullet catcher for all the inevitable incoming. It just adds to the illusion that it feeds his craving for attention. The cabal has long had the measure of Trump. He’s just a money and attention addict, and that’s easy to satisfy in the world of political power.
The latest executive order I am drawing your attention to, released on July 24th, is probably the most sinister piece of executive action of Trump’s new term. It is wrapped in a cloak of law and order, but is written in a way that is so deliberately vague as to allow the detention of virtually any American citizen. It is quite literally an order to sanction the ‘disappearance' of ANYONE in pursuit of a pliable law and order agenda.
Before we discuss the executive order, I would like to draw your attention to a press release dated May 15th by Rep. Warren Davidson, who introduced ‘The Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) Research Act of 2025.’ You can read the press release.
“TDS has divided families, the country, and led to nationwide violence—including two assassination attempts on President Trump. The TDS Research Act would require the NIH to study this toxic state of mind, so we can understand the root cause and identify solutions.” said Rep. Davidson (R-OH). “Instead of funding ludicrous studies such as giving methamphetamine to cats or teaching monkeys to gamble for their drinking water, the NIH should use that funding to research issues that are relevant to the real world.”
“Trump Derangement Syndrome has become an epidemic on the Left,” said Rep. Moore (R-AL). “Some individuals who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome have participated in nationwide political and social unrest, even trying to assassinate President Trump twice. Rep. Davidson’s common-sense bill will use already appropriated funds on an NIH study that can make a difference.”
Of course, this is beyond stupid to believe that someone can be declared to be suffering from a mental illness if you disagree with a president I would claim is a sandwich short of a picnic. However, in a world where stupid can be elected President of the United States and stupid can create an international extortion gang run from the Oval Office and have people not believe a tariff is a tax, stupid no longer qualifies as ‘It will never happen’. The point I am trying to make is that this cancer is creeping into every corner of the political conversation with malicious intent, while being cloaked in what may seem noble intent.
The key bullet points I would highlight from this dangerous and sinister new executive order from 24th July entitled ENDING VAGRANCY AND RESTORING ORDER are:
The Order requires the Attorney General to work with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and the Secretary of Transportation to prioritize grants for states and municipalities that enforce prohibitions on open illicit drug use, urban camping and loitering, and urban squatting, and track the location of sex offenders.
The overwhelming majority of these individuals are addicted to drugs, have a mental health disorder, or both.
Shifting these individuals into long-term institutional settings for humane treatment is the most proven way to restore public order.
You should read the whole executive order to ensure you understand the context I am providing, which I believe is the subtext of this piece of executive action. As I stated, these executive orders are carefully crafted to be deliberately ambiguous, providing plausible deniability, so when they are abused, the administration can claim the order was ‘misinterpreted’.
This is Vought’s modus operandi; it’s how he operates. Vague, ambiguous words that can be twisted to fit the intended purpose. This is precisely how he facilitated the ability to send the National Guard and US Marines into any city, without the need to declare martial law. Vought is a Bond villain extraordinaire. The only problem is, this is not a movie; it’s real life, and real people are the victims of his evil intent.
Friends, I am doing my best here to join up the dots for you. Some will claim I am chasing shadows, but if there’s one thing I have learned about this administration, it is that even the most inconceivable actions are on the table, because there are no longer any rules in play, either political or moral. The intent here is to impose a new society and seal it up tightly, so that the will of the people will never be heard again.
Trump has already done a deal with private corporations in the detention sector that donated to his election campaign. In a piece by Stateline on April 11th by Amanda Hernandez she notes:
The Trump administration is moving quickly to dramatically expand the nation’s capacity for detaining immigrants who do not have legal authorization to be in the United States.
The administration has largely turned to the for-profit, private prison industry to reopen or repurpose shuttered and aging facilities — many of which have been previously criticized for poor conditions and inadequate care.
The clear intent is to create low-cost detention capacity, providing high-margin profits to Trump-supporting corporations at the expense of US taxpayers. Alligator Alcatraz is a prime example of the direction of travel. Although not federally funded for construction, taxpayers are financing beds. According to documents from ICE for fiscal year 2023, the estimated daily cost of a bed is $187.48. It’s essential to note that I do not have access to the actual price, which may be lower, although I highly doubt it, given the economic dynamics of supply and demand. We know now that many red states are seeking to do the same to cash in on the misery of immigrants.
Trump’s crypto holdings are shrouded in a wall of secrecy, where nobody can see the bribes. All we know is that currently, the majority of Trump’s wealth has come from cryptocurrency, something he called a ‘scam’ before he realised how he could use it to manipulate his base just before the election. Crypto now accounts for almost 60% of his wealth in a matter of just months. He has created a bribe pipeline that is outside the scope of the Presidential Records Act, which allows him to sell policy, not only in the US, but globally. Additionally, we are aware that senior officials and cabinet members are likely using Signal as a method to discuss key policy decisions that circumvent the act. They are determined that it will be impossible to hold them to account should they lose power.
The way this works is that Trump carries out the most outrageous, unconscionable acts, which are so beyond the realms of norms in society, they are almost impossible to believe. This then helps him build a narrative that slowly normalises the outrageous to the point where people hold up their hands, smile and say ‘It’s just what he does’. The situation is then made worse by the bought-and-paid-for conservative majority on the Supreme Court, which is complicit in the act. Now try telling me these people don’t know how to organise a bloodless coup, and I’ll show you a white Christian Nationalist with actual Christian values.
Be in no doubt, just as Hitler was intent on silencing those that did not conform to his vision to make Germany great again, Trump is creating the infrastructure to ‘detain the non-compliant in state-controlled facilities. The problem with this type of plan is that those facilities cannot hold all those who disagree with his plans for the new America. Then what?
You can unpeel no layer of the MAGA onion without revealing further planned attacks on American families. Take, for example, HR1319 Fake Pastor Mike Johnson, who also masquerades as House Speaker, sent Republicans home to protect Trump from his own members. Then, strangely, Republicans returned the day after to vote on:
HR1319 : To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 and the National Labor Relations Act to clarify the standard for determining whether an individual is an employee, and for other purposes.
As I keep saying, death by a thousand cuts to the rights that will make American workers poorer and less secure on the road to economic slavery. There is no need to clarify what represents an employee. This is simply an act of legislative theft of workers' rights and benefits. It is merely part of their agenda to boost profits and diminish the responsibilities of corporate America. This will allow them to have employees without treating them as such. What could be better, you get all the benefits from the fruit of their labour, in return for providing them with NOTHING but a paycheck that you can reduce at will because they no longer have any protections, and they can’t unionise.
However, there is a more deliberate intent behind this bill. The intent to eventually defund Social Security will remove the employer’s obligation to pay half of the Social Security contributions. They are presenting this as a ‘Freedom’ package to set you free and provide hitherto unknown freedoms in the workplace. Wait, did I just see a pig fly past my window? This will impact healthcare coverage and a range of benefits that employees receive. The bill has, at this moment, only been voted out of committee, but if it passes, it will be the most significant rollback of employment rights in history, disguised as a measure to set employees free. Let me assure you, the only thing it will set you free from is your rights. All I would say is bury your elected representatives under a tsunami of objections. I will, of course, conduct a thorough review of the details before this comes back in September to refresh your memory.
I had intended to tie this piece in with Project Esther, as this is all part of the broader picture, shaping society to prepare for a future in which the Democratic Party is relegated to the political wilderness. I’ll do a separate piece to focus purely on Project Esther and link it back to this piece. The burning question in this moment is, will an America which has become detached from politics have the knowledge and the fortitude to resist, because this is going to take much more than a Democratic Party, which is now just seen as the lesser of two evils, I’m afraid.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your deep dives into the issues here...from across the pond. Sadly, every point you make is real and coming truer by the second.
Ty. I appreciate your thoughts. Eugenics is a tough topic.. I am tagging @HeatherCoxRichardson to consider this topic as well: Do you agree with these thoughts?
I also wonder if the US has really done much to overcome racism and how much people are willing to do in the name of power and money.
