I took some time yesterday to pay close attention not just to feedback on my post, but to the broader response to the murder of Charlie Kirk. It is always essential to step back and look at the big picture. As a resident creator on both TikTok and YouTube, I am also in a position to gain an extended view of the messaging being shared in both of these influential spaces.
It is easy to go with the flow and pick a side, but you know me better than that. My position is based on a critical and objective assessment of the facts. With this in mind, I hope you will take a moment to explore my thoughts as I share them with you. To be clear, it’s important to read this as an opinion piece. That does not designate it a work of fiction; it represents a personal assessment based on a wealth of knowledge and access to resources that don’t come cheap each month. If you come here often to Truth Matters, you know me well enough to know I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I am equally not fearful of challenging your thinking on occasion.
There has been much conversation for months as to whether the US is having a constitutional crisis, and we hear what I can only describe as ‘Constitution deniers’ claiming there is nothing to worry about. Let me try to spell this out in really easy-to-understand terms: THERE IS EVERYTHING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT. And the US Constitution has been in crisis from the day Donald J Trump entered the White House. Which part of the Supreme Court of the United States is compromised, are people struggling with?
Please allow me to guide you through my thoughts on events, which date back to 2016. Before you say ‘No thanks’, I promise you it will be worth it. I’m going to split this article into two parts—the history and the here and now. You can’t truly understand the present without first understanding the past, and I promise you that this will all circle back to Charlie Kirk and the Epstein files. Much more than that, it should really help you understand why Democrats are currently on a road to nowhere unless they change direction.
This is not about Trump; it’s about a much bigger threat coming from influential and ultra-wealthy people who have a collective global ambition to destroy the world order and start again. America just happens to be the springboard for the economic war they want to wage on the world. It is an ambition which will challenge most people’s thinking of how society should operate. Trump is and always has been the useful idiot acting as the bullet catcher and delivery mechanism for the likes of societal change no one can imagine.
The object of the exercise is to flood the zone with distraction after distraction to allow the construction of a malign framework out of sight. This framework will eventually become the foundation on which they build a reimagined government that extends way beyond Project 2025. The US will become a central hub to deliver logistic support for a global economic war. It isn’t easy to bring the threads together because a considerable amount of time and money has been invested, in you never gaining access to the truth.
Those with wealth have, over the decades, become the Gods no government dare challenge. They have chipped away at hard-fought-for workers’ rights, voting rights and human rights, because they represent the biggest threat to their march to economic dominance. We are many and they are few, so they have had to develop mechanisms to control the worker bees. The only way they can do this is through the control of government, which is why dark money has played such a pivotal role in delivering us to where we find ourselves today.
While many would argue it began some time before, the campaign to buy politicians at scale began during the Reagan years, the first signs of which were ‘trickle-down economics’. It’s essential to note that the ‘trickle-down’ theory dates back to the late 19th Century, first gaining prominence under Herbert Hoover, who promoted the idea that wealth would trickle down to the needy. I prefer to call it ‘scraps from the master’s table’. It wasn’t until the Reagan administration endorsed it that it was sold as a legitimate economic theory, which has long been debunked, yet still remains in Trump’s budget bill today, albeit in an ugly and punitive form.
Politicians have long been societal anesthesiologists using political policy to sedate the masses. The Republican Party has been the Igor to the Frankenstein economics of the rich and powerful. Politicians have traded wealth and a space in the economic cheap seats in return for selling out their electors, while rubber-stamping legislation that has served nobody but those from whom they took their thirty pieces of silver.
While they took Republicans who have no sense of moral decency or empathy hostage, Democrats were a more difficult challenge, because unlike Republicans, they cared about the little guy things, like women’s rights, voters' rights and pesky things like environmental safety, clean water and affordable healthcare, etc. Thankfully for the rich, all humans and in particular politicians, are for sale; the rich knew that money talks. Democrat politicians proved just as easy to buy as Republicans. This isn’t about handing over bags of cash; it’s about support for campaigns and other subtle ‘benefits’. Of course, not all politicians are for sale, and I truly applaud those who aren’t because they are a rare breed.
The result of pressuring politicians from both sides of the aisle has been the Citizens United decision, the dilution of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. I’m not suggesting Democrats are directly responsible for these political catastrophes. But their failure to present a compelling proposition to the American people has allowed Republicans to dominate the policy agenda.
Tragically, Democrats have morphed into Republican Lite, chasing a voting public that they perceive to be moving further to the right. What the Oligarchs have managed to do is create just enough difference between the two parties for the public to believe that they are fighting for different goals, which, of course, they are when it comes to human rights, etc. However, often when it comes to economic policy, which is the only thing that matters to the rich, both parties now seem happy, albeit to a lesser extent by Democrats, to serve special interests over the interests of those who elected them. The rich simply filled up the Washington troughs, and politicians from both sides of the aisle have filled their boots.
This all began in 2016 when Trump ran for the first time. In the blink of an eye, he changed the political rules of engagement. In one move, he normalised the lie, and the whole game changed from the Obama ‘birther’ conspiracy. Trump and his campaign team knew that lies worked; they delivered a political win. Moreover, they resonated well with a new electoral demographic: social media addicts. He built a social media messaging juggernaut that pumped out lie after lie, and many of them stuck. More importantly, they unlocked a voter bloc that had either not voted or was seeking change.
Trump turned the political message into an art form, and Democrats who had pioneered small-dollar internet campaigning had absolutely no response. Don’t get me wrong, I think Republicans ran a despicable campaign against Hilary Clinton, which changed politics in the US forever, but one has to have a grudging respect for what they did. It worked, and he won the election.
So how does that relate to what we are talking about, I hear you say. Stay with me if you would. After winning in 2008, despite the wild success of a voter-focused campaign, Democrats moved the emphasis of this winning formula to focus on corporate donations. Not only was this a catastrophic mistake, but it also saw voters begin to lose faith in the hope they had been promised. In my opinion, this is why Obama, who was a once-in-a-lifetime president, underachieved in relation to the massive potential his presidency presented.
I am in no way criticising him; all he could do was do his best with the hand he was dealt, and it was a pretty shitty hand in 2008. His achievements over the course of eight years were remarkable, given the challenges he faced. Still, he could have achieved so much more had he not had to battle the most obstructive opposition in modern history, led by Mitch McConnell and what I believe to be an ever-growing poison alliance between the party and special interest groups that began to tie his hands.
This was when the oligarchs saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They could mould a useful idiot into a despot in search of a one-party system, where they didn’t have to make allowances for Democrat presidents that came along from time to time to spoil their greed fest. They knew Trump was the poster boy for corruption; this was the guy who had stolen from his own charity and evaded paying his taxes. He was so much of a risk that no US bank would lend him money; he was forced to seek finance from dubious sources abroad. Trump was the perfect foil for their plan because his celebrity status drew in voters who would never vote Republican. He was a guy who just needed them to fill his pockets with cash and massage his giant ego. A small price to pay, they thought.
The MAGA cult he created was, I believe, an accidental act of genius, cemented when Hilary Clinton described them as deplorables. From that moment on, the tyranny we find ourselves in today was baked into US politics, and there was no turning back. Trump’s quiet backers used his first term to begin to explore the boundaries of presidential power. Also, it was a test of whether the cult would believe the tsunami of lies he told, and they did, beyond everybody’s wildest dreams. He could do no wrong; they were prepared to walk through walls for him. Incompetent as he was, he winged it and delivered massive tax cuts for the rich, and that was all that mattered.
Then COVID hit, and the wheels came off the bus. By the time the 2020 election arrived, he was on the ropes and, of course, despite his protestations, he lost. On the upside, he now had a majority installed on the Supreme Court, which would be significant moving forward. In a moment when Democrats should have won in a landslide, they scraped to a victory, and that should have been a huge red flag for Democrat strategists. Instead, they did a ‘we won’ lap of honour and moved on. BIG MISTAKE.
The oligarchs, though disappointed, had got their big tax cuts, and their useful idiot proved he really could be a really useful idiot. They just had to protect him from himself. Democrats still relied on corporate money, so they still had enough influence not to be too concerned about Biden’s term.
Meanwhile, Trump was setting himself on fire over the 2020 election and launched his January 6th insurrection, and it looked like he was out of control. Out of the need for self-preservation, corporate money was pulled from the Republicans in a well-managed PR exercise. The only question was whether Trump could survive and stay out of jail. In a brutal twist, Biden’s term became Trump’s finest hour; he was Teflon Don. Democrats could make absolutely nothing stick despite a series of egregious acts which would see any politician thrown in a hole at a dark site, never to be seen again.
I have written at length about Project 2025, but the key point is that the Trump team had learned so much from his first term that they made absolutely no secret about their intentions in 2024. It is a fact that Biden delivered the fastest post-COVID recovery of any developed nation; not only that, he had delivered the acknowledged strongest economy in the world by the beginning of the 2024 campaign. I’m not going to relive the huge mistakes made by Democrats in that campaign because it’s history now.
What I will say is their failure even to recognise the threat of Project 2025 until it was too late was emblematic of a breathtaking level of complacency and bad decisions that led to Trump being gifted the keys to the White House once again. It is essential to understand that this was not about money; Democrats outspent Trump with ease, but he won the message war. They had learned nothing from 2016 about how to counter the lies. Democrats thought they would win because nobody wanted a fascist. WRONG.
The truly concerning thing for me is that leadership appear to hold the same opinion still, and it is STILL WRONG. I get so frustrated thinking about it, because the depth of talent that sits on the Democratic side is phenomenal. We are living in a moment where donkeys are leading lions, and that is a tragedy. We have arrived at a moment where, despite Trump’s authoritarian dystopia, voters have little to no faith that Democrats will rescue them from this nightmare. They have lost faith. Democrats will point to the 20-point swings in special elections. I am desperate for you to understand these voters aren’t voting for Democrats; they are voting against Trump.
So what, you might say, the result is the same. I would respectfully suggest that it’s not. You don’t win unless voters buy into your vision, and there is no vision other than to get rid of Trump; then we’ll decide. The American people deserve much better, and I’ll tell you why in PART TWO tomorrow when we drill into the dangers of sitting around waiting for Trump to set himself on fire, because that’s not a plan. The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a five-alarm fire as to where I think Trump is going with this. Put in simple terms, for the lions not to be led by donkeys, you have to shoot the donkeys and feed meat to the lions. Until Democrats do that, we are all wasting our time.

Very true, “donkeys leading the lions” sounds exactly right. FN democrats have no message for me to believe in. They still don’t understand there are no rules in this politicized era. They seem to be fragmented, unlike the Rotten GOP, who will unite behind every lie Scump dreams up,even though they know it’s a lie. Dems are…..I’m tired of talking. F it!!!
Great analysis, thank you. I am looking forward to tomorrow's post.
