Quit automatically assuming poor people are MAGAts. You all seem to assume that my calls for action are geared towards poor people. They are not.
The MAGAts in my community are not poor minorities. They are wealthy, upper middle class, educated white people that do not want to give up on the allusion of being rich that comes from calling themselves Republican. They still want to believe that the Republican party, is protecting them somehow - they are not that rich - lol. They have succumbed to the deceptive web of lies spread by Fox News and are lost in a cult and don't even know exists.
I have been criticized for promoting the Economic Disruptions because they say they hurt poor people. No one is asking anyone to stop working, especially not the working poor. If you actually read what I write you would see that all we are asking is for everyone to do what they can. That's why I provide so many optional ways to resist. We are trying to find ways to help support the poor. We want the billionaire oligarchs to pay all their employees fair living wages and pay the same taxes the rest of us pay! We are not asking anyone to stop spending on essentials.
We are asking people with money to put down that new pair of shoes when you have a dozen you rarely wear already in your closet. Skip that new shade of lipstick when you already have a cabinet full of beauty products that you will never finish. You folks can live without those decorative knick knacks, books, collectables and so many other non-life sustaining junk. Those are the people who don't want to make sacrifices. Those are the people we are also asking to stop buying from the billionaire businesses that cheat their employees. Boycott Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot and support small local businesses instead.
I know that a lot of smaller communities only have access to a Walmart or Kroger. I know that a lot of folks need the delivery services that come from billionaire businesses. If these are the only stores you can afford to shop at - do what is best for you and your family. Everyone else support your local economy and community businesses instead.
I admire your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to your mission. I am not and never have suggested that MAGA supporters are all poor, the point is that the sum of those who voted from ALL demographics represent just 34% of eligible voters.
It is certainly true to say that non college educated voters are more likely to vote for Trump.
Unfortunately your progressive zealotry in the American political system will not fly. I would regard myself as a left of centre thinker with a progressive leaning and I do believe there is an appetite for a more equitable society but not via a nuclear progressive strike.

I certainly didn’t know enough to consider the sequence, timing, or necessary prerequisites with any confidence.

2.) Limit Your Spending - BUY ESSENTIALS ONLY. This saves you time, money and helps build your emergency funds. BANKRUPT THE BILLIONAIRE OLIGARCHS! Boycott Amazon, avoid big chain stores and restaurants. Support small local community businesses.
3.) DON'T BE A tRump! Be Kind, Support & Encourage Each Other. A smile can change a life. Courage is contagious, let your people know that they are not alone. Volunteer, Donate, Help the less fortunate.
That's it. I have done the research. That's all it takes to end this evil madness. These are ridiculously simple, super effective ways to defeat the tRump, his administration from hell, his ICE henchmen and the billionaire oligarchs that own and control them all.

People-at-large are a hard sell for doing anything. We need a Coalition for the Good, by whatever name, where many millions are at the ready for boycotts and other actions that will bring about change. And we need the populace to get educated to the danger we are in from overshoot, so they understand that it's life or death to get our act together. I'm working with a query about how that educating could come to pass, especially encouraging the overshoot experts to engage in their comment sections to toss around ideas. Let Substack be a giant think tank, bubbling with so much ideation that it emits an evolutionary energy.
