Your rant is intense and depressing. Many of the people I know literally show up to march EVERY week, no matter the weather, against the current administration, and for Democracy. We write to our Congressmen and Senators, and we hold rallies. We remain ants in our society...as you have said. But still we rise. And vote, if and when we can. No one I know is walking blindly ...or blithely assuming our country is safe from perfidy.
It might be intense but it should not be depressing. My whole argument is that people like you and those you know should be the people driving the change within the Democratic Party.
I’m batting for you, because the Democratic establishment is simply waiting around for Trump to face plant.
I hear you, but i know many people who still prefer to bury they're heads in the sand and hope that everything will be fine the next time they bother to look around. Sad but true. When I push, I usually hear some version of “there's nothing webcan do, no one listens to us”. I tell them thst no one listens to someone who does not speak up.
Please consider that we are being played and that none of this is as it seems.
President Obama's Warning: "You just have to flood a country's public square with enough raw sewage, you just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing that citizens no longer know what to believe. Once they lose trust in their leaders, in mainstream media, in political institutions, in each other, in the possibility of "truth", the games won."
"If you catch 100 red fire ants as well as 100 large black ants, and put them in a jar, at first, nothing will happen. However, if you violently shake the jar and dump them back on the ground the ants will fight until they eventually kill each other. The thing is, the red ants think the black ants are the enemy and vice versa, when in reality, the real enemy is the person who shook the jar. This is exactly what's happening in society today. Liberal vs conservative, black vs white, pro mask vs anti-mask, vax vs anti-vax, rich vs poor, man vs woman, cop vs citizen, immigrant vs citizen. The real question we need to be asking ourselves is who's shaking the jar ... and why?" —Shera
We are those ants and that society and all that we are witnessing is contrived to destroy the United States—both sides of the blackmailed isle are in on it. Here are the WEF 2030 goals:
1) America will no longer be a super power
2) You will own nothing and be happy
To achieve this they have to destroy the old order first before they can usher in their new total surveillance tyrannical super state. To achieve that they are mercilessly dividing and conquering us which is the oldest playbook for control that exists. Here is how:
Ten Ways Billionaires Who Hate You Are Manipulating You Right Now by @thewisewolf
1) The first manipulation is the illusion of choice. You think you have two parties representing different visions for America but both parties are funded by the same billionaires, vote for the same surveillance bills, approve the same defense budgets, and serve the same corporate interests. The choice you are given is which color tie the puppet wears, not who controls the strings.
2) The second manipulation is emotional hijacking. The news does not inform you, it activates you. Every story is framed to trigger fear or anger or disgust because those emotions bypass your rational thinking and make you easier to control. You are not watching journalism. You are being subjected to psychological operations designed to keep you in a constant state of agitation.
3) The third manipulation is tribal sorting. The algorithm learns what makes you angry and feeds you more of it until your entire worldview is shaped by outrage at the other side. You are sorted into a tribe not because you chose it but because keeping you tribal keeps you predictable and profitable.
4) The fourth manipulation is false scarcity. You are told resources are limited and the other tribe is taking what belongs to you. Immigrants are stealing your jobs. Welfare recipients are draining your taxes. The other party is destroying your healthcare. Meanwhile the billionaire class has more wealth than any humans in history and could solve most of these problems tomorrow if they wanted to.
5) The fifth manipulation is memory holing. Stories that threaten powerful interests get buried or forgotten within days. Exposed crimes result in no consequences. Historical context that would help you understand the present is never taught. You are kept in a perpetual present with no past to learn from and no future to plan for.
6) The sixth manipulation is controlled opposition. The voices you think are fighting for you are often funded by the same interests they pretend to oppose. The outrage merchant on your side of the aisle is playing a character designed to keep you engaged and angry and tuned in while nothing ever actually changes.
7) The seventh manipulation is the Overton window. The range of acceptable opinion is artificially narrowed so that anything outside it seems extreme. Ideas that were mainstream fifty years ago are now treated as radical. Ideas that serve elite interests are treated as moderate common sense. You are not choosing your beliefs from the full range of human thought. You are choosing from a menu they wrote.
8) The eighth manipulation is learned helplessness. You are shown so many problems with no solutions that you eventually give up and accept that nothing can change. This is intentional. A population that believes resistance is futile does not resist. They scroll and complain and feel superior for understanding how bad things are while doing absolutely nothing about it.
9) The ninth manipulation is identity capture. Your political affiliation becomes your identity, and any attack on your party feels like an attack on you personally. This makes you defend politicians and policies that harm you because admitting they are wrong would mean admitting you were wrong, and your ego will not allow that.
10) The tenth manipulation is the most insidious of all: you are manipulated into believing you are too smart to be manipulated. Every person reading this thinks the manipulations I described apply to other people, the stupid people, the brainwashed people on the other side. That certainty is itself a manipulation. The moment you believe you are immune is the moment you become most vulnerable
There is something way bigger going on when you can divide everyone in the entire world into an 'us vs them' mentality on almost every single subject.. We cannot let them get away with these ridiculous ancient divide and conquer tactics...
It is us vs the 1%. That’s always how its been. Every single red and blue voter on the planet has way more in common with each other, and shares way more of the same values with one another, than both of them combined vs the 1% who consider us cattle. They are our predators. We work to enrich them. They feast on our efforts and divide us, while working to replace us with AI, and raining down scorn.
Thank you for your contribution to the conversation. You make your own compelling argument for us and them which is interesting. It’s just a different us and them.
The electoral system in the U.S. demands that you can’t fight this fight unless you select a team. My argument is about aligning the vision of the team to operate within the electoral parameters to elect a government with the ability to effect real change. - Martin
The one thing that can be attributed to me is that I’m a pragmatist. At this point in the electoral cycle even the thought of changing the voting system is frankly as absurd as Trump suggesting the US is the hottest county in the world.
I’m all for encouraging change, but suggesting it during tyranny is either a comedy sketch or you need to stop taking drugs.
I’m always up for healthy debate, but if this is what you’re bringing to the table I’m afraid we will simply have to agree to disagree.
Again I don’t doubt your sincerity of thought and intent here, but back in the real world we have a true fight on our hands and Democrats are the only game in town I’m afraid.
Do I like that? Not really, but it’s the only way forward for now. Oh by the way I can’t access your link from the UK 🇬🇧
Ah, sorry i was only giving food for thought. I am bogged down just trying to awaken people to the manipulation we endure constantly. We're after similar things, best of luck.
That is what we so desperately need now. I also believe the Dems are responsible for handing trump his victory. Do these people even have a platform? Truly, theirs is in service to their donors and that's how we get to "no difference between them and Republicans. I thought this was well written and I wish it were a wake up call, but sadly, I think not enough people who need to see this, will. I started out as an Independent when I was 18 and decided no one cared. I think they do now. If the Independent party can come up with a viable candidate, I might switch. But what would be really amazing is if the Dems put forth an army of younger candidates who wouldn't or couldn't be bought out and for whom change is inevitable since their lives are just starting. I think there's more Mamdanis out there. We need to cultivate them. And teach them how to read! Cheeses!!!
It’s clear you and I are on the same page Mary. As I think I said, Dems are the only game in town in this moment. Discussions about third party option is for another day, the focus must be on a change from within. The focus must be on a big enough win to support transformative legislation.
I changed my party affiliation to independent. My metric for returning is replacing Schumer, Jeffries, and Martin. There are lots of great democratic politicians out there. It is a leadership problem.
I appreciate your words of wisdom, especially when they hit, as you describe, like a splash of cold water to the face. I am grateful for your dedication to spreading truth. Your head and heart are invaluable to the cause. I eagerly await the launch of your new project, and when my tax return comes in, I'll forward some green your way.
I agree with your analysis. There are numerous challenges to address not least of which is a leader behind whom the required change can coalesce in vision and purpose. There is a real need to find someone of the people. Folks need to understand that this is a generational journey but support can be more easily garnered if they know what they are signing up to, where they are bound and how long it will take. It's not naive to ask someone to be straight.
You know why I love this platform? Because of people like you who get it. The Truth Matters community feels like family to me now. Engagement here is almost always, thoughtful and often times passionate too, but that’s how a democracy should work. - Martin
I believe your indictment of the current Democrat Party is right on the money. I also believe that the depth of the talent in the party is going ignored in favor of....what, exactly? The Democrats right now appear to believe that all this will be sorted out in November when Trump has already begun claiming that elections are "fixed" in this country, all the better to call them off.. Frankly, I think we will be lucky to have elections at all, let alone win any of them. I wish we had a parliamentary system with a shadow cabinet ready to step in. But we don't, Hence we are at the mercy of Citizens United and billionaires doing the happy dance as they control what goes down in this country. Truly, it's pathetic.
No....not chasing MAGA voters but DO court independents is NOT rocket science, but you have to remember Chuck Schumer is an idiot. He just does what the Beltway consultants suggest....like ignoring the murderous rampaging gangs crimes and FUND THEM TOTALLY.
I, and my like-minded friends, would agree with your analysis. I think what needs to happen, in addition to not funding the DNC but funding promising candidates directly, is that we send that message, loud and clear, to the DNC. We share our disgust with Ken Martin. We let him know we are withholding donations-and our support- until he releases the findings of the study on the 2024 election debacle. And we insist on a bench of candidates who do not succumb to corporate donors. Simultaneously we endorse, and finance those democrats and independent candidates who best meet our criteria. That is the only way we truly, not just superficially, “win.”
Ok can you tell me what are the democrats supposed to do?When the republicans control the house, the senate and the white house. We are hoping and praying. We can change that in 2026 and change. Some of what's going on
Can I respectfully suggest you take a look back at what Republicans did when they were in the same position?
Perhaps Mitch McConnell should convene training courses on insurgent obstruction? When Dems had leverage with ACA subsidy extensions, they caved and that’s just one example of ineffective opposition I’m afraid.
I’m pretty sure Dems will win in November even if they do nothing because Trump will set himself on fire, but there’s a world of difference between Trump losing and Dems winning if they only win because people hate Trump.
That’s not a win it’s Democrats telling themselves the lie that the American people trust them again. There’s a BIG difference.
“Will the project have an impact? I have absolutely no idea, but I do know one thing for sure… and it’s a hill I’ve decided I’m prepared to die on to secure a better future for my grandchildren and their children.”
That made me sob. It is exactly how I feel, although I am not retired and don'thave all the time needed. This is what we do to secure that better future for those coming up after us.
I’m not frightened of leading by example because it’s what i genuinely believe. This represents a global threat.
The thing about something new is people can’t imagine it until they see it. This has been a long time in the making because I have a major fear that it will have to operate beyond the reach of the tech companies. So if it does work as I hope it will, it will not be vulnerable to being taken down.
1- I have been espousing a Shadow Government since the (now mild) atrocities of Bush 2.0.
2- A question I have had of my safe-seat-warming WA Senators is How many comers have you mentored? (Some of our Reps should be getting more ink.)
3- As has been noted, we have been and should be taking leaves out of the ‘60s playbook, like sit-ins.
And Music, Music, Music when we rally. I started building my playlist during Bush 2 as well. Patriotics, folk songs, and standards from the 60s and earlier can be joined by Muse’s “Uprising” and the Decemberist’s “When We Fight.” They still get my 80-yr-old heart pumping!
Your rant is intense and depressing. Many of the people I know literally show up to march EVERY week, no matter the weather, against the current administration, and for Democracy. When I push, I usually hear some version of “there's nothing webcan do, no one listens to us”. I tell them thst no one listens to someone who does not speak up.
The democrats also can take a lesson on how to be a SOB from Mitch McConnell, after all he was the minority leader for his party.

I could not agree more with where you are coming from.

I am without doubt concerned about actually getting to November as I wrote about yesterday. I am all too often left scratching my head I’m afraid.
It’s our reality, & we must step up before we can’t!
Did you know Lady Liberty has broken shackles around her legs? She's on a pedestal so you can't see them. Information from their new museum 🤔🥴😱
