When Trump extorted an ally who’s soldiers served alongside his own in Iraq

It’s no good saying I’m angry anymore. I’m in a perpetual state of rage it seems.

How Trump has the audacity to attempt to carve up Ukraine based on the terms of an indicted war criminal is beyond comprehension. I’ll say it again US aid to Ukraine is LESS THAN 50% of the total aid provided.

Russia does not want representatives from Europe, or the president of Ukraine in the room and it appears Putin’s fanboy is conceding. Using phrases like, and I quote “Ukraine may be Russian someday” Trump actually said that. It’s the same as saying “America might be Chinese one day”.

Now he is saying “I told them (Ukraine) that I want the equivalent like $500 billion worth of rare earth,” he recalled, adding: “And they've essentially agreed to do that so at least we don’t feel stupid.”

This is presented as a reparations package. I can barely contain my disgust. This is a textbook example of geopolitical extortion by an ally. It’s beyond outrageous. The package is more punitive than the reparations placed on Germany after WWII and they were the enemy. Ukraine is an ally.

The UK Telegraph has obtained a draft of the pre-decisional contract, marked “Privileged & Confidential’ and dated Feb 7 2025. It states that the US and Ukraine should form a joint investment fund to ensure that “hostile parties to the conflict do not benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine”. After the murderous campaign Putin has waged, on innocent Ukrainians. Trump is spitting on the graves of the raped women, murdered children and executed men to get 30 pieces of silver from his hero. I simply can’t wrap my mind around what type of monster would do this.

While the U.S. is the largest absolute donor to Ukraine, it ranks 15th among countries for aid as a percentage of GDP, according to a September 2024 report by the Council of Foreign Relations.

Nearly 70% of the $175 billion in U.S. aid to Ukraine since Russia’s 2022 invasion was spent in the U.S. or on U.S. forces. US Military Support for Ukraine has literally helped put the American arms Industry back on its feet. It has bolstered the US defense industry and sustained American manufacturing jobs. Factories across America have benefited not only from U.S. aid, but from orders placed by NATO allies too. The real cost to America has been a rounding error in terms of the DOD budget. This investment in the Freedom of Ukraine has degraded the Russian military beyond the wildest dream of any Military strategist.

This makes Trump’s criminal extortion reprehensible. America is double dipping on the back of tens of thousands of murdered Ukrainian citizens. Lest we forget, Ukrainian soldiers despite not being in NATO, fought side by side with American soldiers in Iraq. If ANYONE can tell me this is the action of anyone but an international criminal kicking a country while it’s on its knees, I am all ears.

Europe needs to WAKE UP and condemn Trump for his actions. The UK and Europe needs to spend whatever it takes, to stand behind Ukraine. I’m sure Canada would be all in as would other nations who believe in the international rule of law.

All the Republicans cowering in the corner saying nothing, should hang their heads in shame. History will never forget their complicity in the dismantling of US democracy and the extortion of an ally in distress. My God, where is their humanity. They are aiding and abetting a criminal. Their actions make them members of an international crime syndicate. The world is looking on in horror.

We MUST lobby our politicians right here right now to put a stop to this insanity. Kier Starmer has stepped up today and Germany, who have spent decades not meeting their NATO obligations, need to get onboard. Europe can do this, the question is, do they have the will to do it?
