If there is a midterm without fuckery (huge IF) it’s likely that more of the same will keep happening. This was a house of cards that was built by both Dems and the GOP over the years since Regan (I can’t go further back because I was too young to remember). By now Dems could have abolished ICE, secured universal healthcare, and on and on. Imperial PURPLE. There are only a couple of Dems I can think of (like 3?) - all women of color mind you - that actually have a shred of humanity. Too much greed/power/ego to flip anything. The elite class will keep feudalism alive while the peasants keep dying.

I concur, I think you just made my case for me - Martin

I respectfully disagree. In some cases, I believe what the Democrats suffered from was complacency—and a sincere belief the bedrock structures and norms of our democracy would prevail. I believe they chose not to secure a right to abortion not because it was unimportant but because it seemed unnecessary and there were other priorities in play. Democrats made a sincere attempt to provide universal healthcare coverage, but it was thwarted by the GOP at every turn — even though all they could do was undermine it and dismantle it piece by piece, without offering anything in its place.

I believe that now the Democrats have seen how the reins of power can be turned so dramatically against the American people, and I believe that if we deliver Democratic control of Congress in three weeks and of the Presidency in two years, we will see real change.

Thanking my mentors, and you for recognizing the truth that most can’t deal with!

I wouldn't start getting comfortable even if a "blue tsunami" comes to pass. There's no guarantee those elected officials will actually "take the reins of power" come January

I absolutely agree, that’s my very point - Martin

We don't have a plan now. I don't expect that to change.

This is way too long for me to read.

It has audio, so you can listen to it on the move. I appreciate it’s very long, that’s why I mark a break point in the piece.

I won’t be able to post on Monday, so I have provided this as my normal Monday post

My thoughts are getting through the mid terms winning both Congress & Senate . However where is any plan ? If hearings would be possible how would that happen with this DOJ. Just one of many issues .
