I said it already today, but it bears repeating; Lest we forget, the same people who needed their own half-time show, 75 years ago, needed their own water fountains, their own seats in restaurants and on buses. They needed their own schools for their children and relied on ‘others’ to pick their cotton.
We are now living in a world where ICE officers are on the ground in Europe, providing security at the Olympic Games, while American athletes are embarrassed at what their country has become and is doing back home. Is America great again yet?
On this, my first day back to writing daily articles, I thought I might do a broader view piece reflecting on my thinking over the past year. During my downtime, I spent a little time reading some old pieces, which I regard as touchstone moments in my journey of discovery into my innermost political thinking. They represent assessments in an ever-evolving adversarial political landscape. For those new to my work, I’ve included a couple of links in this article to past pieces rather than repeating myself, in the hope these will help fill some gaps.
America has lived through turbulent times, but never has it looked so small, petty and insignificant as it does on the world stage today. It is not a nation that is living the dream anymore; it’s a nation at war with itself, willing to set itself on fire to deport those who have helped deliver the prosperity it now seems prepared to flush down the toilet in the service of racial and ideological dogma.
Trump is so terrified of the Epstein files saga getting out of control that he’s having to deliver chaos at an unprecedented scale to turn attention away from the imminent collapse of the whole deck of cards. This whole charade is built on a foundation of deceit and greed in a world where Trump believes he’s invincible and will never be held to account for his crimes. The reason that normal-thinking people struggle with this bewildering situation, is that he paints so far outside the lines that someone with normal values can’t process what’s going on.
When you grow up being told that America is the greatest nation on earth, while 36 million people live in poverty, and the top 10% of the country own around 70% of the nation’s total wealth (around $113 trillion as recorded in the second half of 2025). Meanwhile, the bottom 50% own just 2% (around $4 trillion), and that’s before we talk about the top 1% owning 30% (around $50 trillion). Any social scientist will tell you that history informs us; this is not just a wealth gap; it’s a foundation for revolution.
I’ve said it many times, the American people can crush this government inside a month if they want to. 70% of the US economy is driven by consumer spending. It’s now true that, because of the wealth gap, 49% of consumer spending is driven by the top 10%. Before I continue, pause for a moment: in a population of 345 million people, with 132 million households, 49% of all current consumer spending comes from just 12 to 15 million of those households.
This means that the remaining 51% of spending is in the hands of the bottom 90%, which is around 117 million households. Assuming the top 10% have no motivation to bring down this government, that leaves the rest of the population with the ability to get the job done. It’s not a complicated solution. STOP spending on anything but essentials, and when you do spend, spend it with local businesses. We have seen time and time again that one-day spending strikes are ineffective; they are purely performative, great for social media engagement, but little use for anything else.
While I’ve said I think a general strike will not work in America for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that employers are looking for excuses to cut payroll, a spending strike would, I believe, get the job done. The big challenge is that Americans are not good with sustained inconvenience in their ‘me, me, me, because we’re worth it’ world. There is no simpler act than NOT pressing the ‘buy now’ button, yet Americans just can’t seem to bring themselves to do it enough to deliver a message. Nobody can arrest you for not spending your money. It’s safe, you don’t have to go out in the freezing cold, you can just sit there smug in the knowledge that you are starving those who helped deliver this chaos. Stopping spending deprives them of the oxygen (revenue) they need to perpetuate the torture.
It’s not even about stopping spending; it’s about deferring spending until the objectives of the campaign have been achieved. Attention should focus on high-ticket, high-margin goods and services, as these are the pinch points. Shifting to local spending not only helps local businesses but also drives economic growth in communities. I don’t want to tread over old ground on this because you can read my thoughts in the article below from October 2025:
Economic disengagement is the only answer.
Let me begin today by saying a big thank you to those who engaged with PART ONE of this two-part post. Part one was my first swing. By way of explanation, my approach is to select a broad subject, in this case, to deal with the calls for a general strike and an economic blackout following the outstanding success of the No King’s Day protests on October …
The bottom line is that, to have a real impact, you need a sustained attack on consumer spending to achieve a 3-4% drop. I can absolutely guarantee that if this could be sustained for a month to begin with, it would unquestionably have a serious impact on the economy and send a powerful message to those at the top. Back in 2008, although falling consumption was not the cause of the market crash, once it occurred, consumer spending dropped by just 3%, but that drop greatly extended the recovery time.
In the current climate, with the US carrying almost $39 trillion in debt, the economy is living on the edge, and the government is highly vulnerable to such an attack. However, for it to deliver, it MUST be sustained and requires huge mass participation. Remember, it’s not about forgoing a purchase; it’s about saving that money until after the impact of the campaign. Anyone saying that there is nothing they can do is simply not telling you the truth. The key is organising.
We are in the middle of an ever-evolving strategy by a regime, which is constantly shifting the narrative to meet the threat. While we might think the Epstein files are causing Trump a problem, which they are, he sees it as more of an inconvenience than a problem. Yes, he hates it, but those around him see it as a fair trade-off to keep people’s focus away from the catastrophic job numbers and the incoming economic pain. They think that on this issue, they can control the DOJ so as to maintain broad control of the narrative. However, let me tell you, the Good Ship MAGA is springing leaks everywhere, and despite the outward bluster and the constant stream of lies, those pulling the strings are very concerned that the wider narrative is no longer sustainable.
As a result, all efforts are now focused on elections and the threat they pose to Republicans, who now face the real possibility of losing both the House and the Senate. This means that they are being forced to attempt to take control of the election process so they can build in a fix. Trump is very serious about ‘nationalising’ the election process and is even so brazen as to suggest this only needs to be done in states Republicans will likely lose.
Karolyin’ Leavitt defended Trump’s remarks by falsely claiming he was talking about the need to pass the Save Act. This was clearly untrue, but it does lead us to the important issue of the Save Act and its attempts to suppress the vote. Trump knows that unless he can control the pool of voters, he’s toast and it will halt his presidency in its tracks, especially if her loses the Senate, which could then bring impeachment into play.
If anyone thinks Trump is going to willingly let that happen, I can suggest a good shrink. He will flood key states with ICE and or the military to suppress the immigrant vote and intimidate Americans as they attempt to cast their votes. Be in no doubt, nothing will be off the table to retain power, and Democrats need to be wide awake to the threat it poses. I have spoken before about the 90 million people who sat on their hands in 2024, and it’s those voters who are the key to unlocking the tyranny cell door. If you have time, take a moment to read the linked piece below, which I wrote in October 2025.
The true silent majority are not even on the field of play.
I want to set the shutdown aside for a moment to take a breath and look beyond our current situation, because there is often talk about the country being split in two. That’s what we have now accepted as the norm. Half vote Republican and half vote Democrat, and the margin in every election is narrow, which means nobody can govern as a government should…
Republicans are desperate to pass their new Save America Act which is just a reincarnation of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act they tried to pass before and failed. This is a key tenet of their strategy to suppress the female vote, given female voters are becoming increasingly hostile to Trump’s actions across the board. The act is summarised below
It is a blatant attempt to block millions from casting a legal ballot and is in essence a return to the poll tax in pre voting rights Southern States, prior to Harper v. Virginia Board of Elections (1966), in which the Supreme Court Ruled that then were a a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. The act that is now stalled in the Senate for lack of being able to overcome a Democrat filibuster. It’s a misogynistic aberration, which will force millions of American women in particular, to purchase a passport or an official birth certificate. It directly discriminates against women who changed their name upon marriage or as a result of safety issues such as escaping an abuser. For these women, a passport would be the only option available, effectively imposing a poll tax.
The key thing to understand here is that Trump is doing exactly what he did prior the the 2020 election in preparing the ground to dispute the veracity of the upcoming midterm elections. This is only the beginning of what will undoubtedly become ever more aggressive attempts to influence the outcome of elections in November. I think it safe to say ‘we ain’t seen nothing yet’. In my mind, there has never been a better case made for the deployment of international election monitors as have to be deployed to African nations at election time.
The truth is that the percentage of voter fraud relating to non-citizen voters has been researched time and time again and drawn the same conclusion each time. Indeed as reported by the American Immigration Council:
‘A 2017 Brennan Center analysis of 42 jurisdictions which tabulated 23.5 million votes in the 2016 election found that noncitizens were referred for investigation in just 30 cases—or 0.0001% of votes’.
They go on to note:
‘..the data also tells us that proven cases of undocumented immigrants voting in elections are even rarer. Just 10 undocumented immigrants in total appear in the Heritage database for unlawful voting’.
I’ll conclude for today by saying for the record, that I think the sex trafficking and sexual abuse elements of the Epstein case is just the tip of a massive iceberg that below the waterline indicates global corruption on an industrial scale involving banks, state security services and organised crime. The child rape and sexual abuse are just the Hors d'oeuvres to a level of power, espionage and corruption that has been ongoing for decades that nobody is safe from if there is even an attempt to expose it. I’ll be discussing this further as the week progresses.

I believe the fact that only 5-6 million people watched the alternative show and 128 million watched Bad Bunny is actually great news!!!
Bad bunny was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!
