Actually, I had been, very assiduously, following all of these posts and the posts of some others who think like you. I stopped during the World Cup. I decided to follow that and, of course, expected the intrusion from the White House at some point, as it happened on Sunday. It did not surprise me at all.
But, it is true that this administration is trying to tire us out with all the stunts they’re pulling. It is also true that 30+ million people are traitors to this country, as well as those who continue to rob Trump‘s ego and cater to his every whim. It is not only the rich who are protecting Trump and, by that, protecting themselves. It’s also the poor and discontented who believe that he is a good man that eventually will resolve all their issues. It is the rural class and the minorities who, predictively, are racist themselves, and blame their frustrations on their own people, the immigrants, the gay community, the black community or whatever else they can think of. That is why, in spite of the fact that this man is causing so much harm, they believe that it’s those people who are harming them.
It struck me back in 81, when I came to reside in this country, how uneducated and ignorant a lot of people were here. And it has not changed. It’s gotten even worse now. Ignorance is partly responsible for this, but also, there are educated people who follow this jerk because they are protecting their own interests.
Mediocrity, greed and fanaticism are the dishes of every day, my friend. So, as you say, the country is lost or getting there, unless something extremely surprising happens, and some leadership surfaces to right this horrific wrong that was perpetrated in November 2024.

Thank you for your valuable contribution to the conversation, it’s not clunky at all, we are on the same page. I’m sure you as I do become frustrated at those who attempt to translate Trump’s lunacy into understandable language.
The point is NOBODY should be parsing his mumbling, they are as incoherent as they are because of his discontent from reality.
All we can do is examine the angles in an attempt to take action to mitigate the impact.
The resurgence of racism is only possible because of MAGA …. The hate and fear is real and is promoted by manipulators and religious zealots. It is a throwback to the white sheets and hoods of the KKK … this new masked man look is just an updated fashion statement for racism.
I see such similarities in the current US culture of white Christian nationalism and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Different targets but the same suppression and oppression based on control and superiority over “ less thans “ . When a civilization falls backwards … into a place of tyranny and destruction of the civility and culture which took centuries to develop…. One has to ask why ?
Is this greed for wealth ? Is it obsession with power ? Is it a reversal of basic human decency? Why is it ok to kill innocents ? Why is a “ lesser than “ such a threat to those that wield such great powers? Is it the fear of a mass uprising ? When is barbarism excusable in a civilized society?
If we fail to recognize our common humanity, then we are doomed to suffocate in our own man made hell .

The entire premise of this war with Iran is ridiculous. And who is trump to say that Iran should never be allowed to have an atomic bomb? Countries all over the world have atomic bombs. North Koreans Kim Jong nut-ball, the man that trump said he “fell in love with” has about 60 nuclear weapons. Can you imagine what people would say if Joe Biden had said that he "fell in love"with the dictator from north korea? He would be eviscerated. But for trump this is normal speaking behavior. And let's not forget that five years ago, trump led a violent insurrection at our nation's capital.He told his supporters to go there and "fight like hell, or they wouldn't have a country any more". His supporters attacked the Capitol, attacked the police protecting the capitol, got into the capitol and carried confederate flags, And were shouting things like "Hang Mike Pence", because the vice president wouldn't agree to trump's demand that he decertified the true election results. Trump watched all the violence on tv and DID NOTHING. to intervene. Many police officers that help defend the capitol later committed suicide, because they were so traumatized by this ugly and horrible event. Trump is full of s**t, and is a crazy, demented, mean-spirited old man. And he's getting worse by the day. His next birthday he will be 80, and his declining cognitive health will be more and more obvious to everyone that listens to him. He gets his words mixed up and often he can't even pronounce things, let alone utter sentences that make sense. And it serves the American people right, in some ways, because they voted for this idiot maniac, Trump! TWICE! Trump said he would put an end to foreign wars and lower the cost of living for Americans. Instead, he bombs Iran. Even though they posed no imminent threat. And as a result of the war that trump started, the American consumer is paying much more money for gasoline, for housing, for transportation, for health care,and many other things. Trump is a clear and present danger to the United States and to the entire world. Quite frankly, I am ashamed to be an American citizen. It will take many years to undo the damage that Mitch McConnell and donald trump have done to the United States reputation, and its place in the world.
