47 is a past master at using other people’s money, time and labor to fund his megalomaniacal visions, none of which actually prosper- they generally fail. I’ve said since he was thugging around NYC everything he touches dies. I DO NOT want that to happen to our country!

At this point a general strike is the least we could do, and I hope others are coming up with more ways to visibly, actively and defiantly make a dent in his and Stephen Miller’s coup-in-process.

Please wake up America. The danger is real.

Your point about the employers of undocumented being penalized is important! These people did not want immigration reform because they prefer to continue to use cheaper labor. Now, they are feeling the loss of these workers and have been struggling to get citizens to do the jobs. Especially in the case of farm workers! It doesn’t seem that the allegations made that the migrants were stealing jobs from citizens is really true!

And possibly taking the entire GOP and followers, hell, all of us, down the bottomless pit

I don't think he will survive to the midterms. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but his physical condition seems to be deteriorating along with his mental condition. But....Biden....Hunters laptop....HIlary's emails!! He knows this so he has no fear of consequences, so he's delighted to play out his fantasies of worldwide domination. SCOTUS has further enabled him, and Vance and Thiel and the GOP is happy to ride on the coattails. He's playing a video game where he is king and has no limits to his power.

The "like" and "restack" buttons have disappeared or moved... intentional or glitch the past couple of days?

Truth Matters's avatar

Not something I’m aware of

I noticed that too. They reappear if you got to the contributors main page. I think there is a glitch.

Thank you for your excellent work. As long as the democrats play "nice" and don't actually fight back..... I am worried that we are doomed.

Do you know if these executive orders ladder up to any specific section(s) of the project 2025 plan?

Truth Matters's avatar

They are in line with the section on deploying the military under martial law, but these EOs deliver the same outcome without declaring martial law

Have you seen the proposal Erik Prince sent trump prior to inauguration about the how to's of detention, calling up military, arming patrolling military and setting up rapid courts, such as the NG's that were given the right to judge?

One has to ask themselves, why did Prince go to El Salvador?

Please clarify these two concerns:

1. While it’s undeniable that crime rates in DC have declined in the past two years, where do they stand historically? And comparatively vs. other cities?

2.is the National Guard actually patrolling the neighborhoods in DC with the highest crime rates? Or are the merely “virtue signaling” by walking around the touristy popular bits?

Thanks

It’s never easy to do comparisons, because of the factors involved like population size etc. Take a look at this and let me know if it helps Brett.

As for the neighbourhood patrolling, it’s not on the agenda, this is just expensive performative politics at play.

Thanks for the article Martin. I’m starting to think that the occupations of LA and Washington DC are trial balloons for Election Day takeovers. And it scares the dog poop outta me. Please keep up the good work of keeping us informed.

Meanwhile only Canada, Mexico and Brazil seem to have the backbone to resist this bully whilst the rest of the world either tip toe around trying to avoid his attention or, in the case of Russia, China and North Korea clap enthusiastically from the sidelines. This elderly, unhinged man (along with his ignorant lackeys) is a clear danger to the whole world!! Wake up folks. Wake up world leaders. Wake up world media.

What will happen if Pritzker deploys the IL National Guard to defend Chicago from the AL/GA/MS NG? For me, there is a dangerous mix of authoritarianism and racism in every action Mr. T is taking, including deportations, attacks on the Fed, and firings of DoD flag officers.

Didn’t strike me as DEI motivated at the time. Maybe I missed something.

I think the states, who are constitutionally bound to run elections, should organize now to prepare for attempted federal interference. ACLU and any other parties interested in protecting right to vote should also plan to poll watch.

Crazy times. I have confidence that integrity is still what a majority of Americans want. Will they be willing to work to sustain/ensure it continues? That seems more likely as Trumpty’s popularity continues the wane and the economy continues to tank.

I enjoyed their article, but feel like you buried some very important news at the end of the article. Thanks for the information.

I don't understand why the Democrats are polite while America burns, so to speak. We don't need South Park to draw attention to the absurdity of how we are being governed since it's in our faces all the time, yet I haven't found any conversation about a coup by us -- bloodless of course -- to get us out of this dark sitcom we are in. If a sniper had Trump with a finger ready to press the red button in his crosshairs, would he hold his fire to remain lawful?
