Last Friday a tag-team of wild-eyed hillbilly diplomats went after President Zelenskyy with a hammer in the Oval Office. Since that didn’t work, they’ve been threatening him across all media channels with the sickle (despite the fact that he is the elected president of a sovereign country). We may have cut off aid to Ukraine, but we don’t have to wonder where this gang is getting their weapons of choice . . .

We are watching a payback in real time. Two people put Trump in office. Trump would be in jail had this not happened. That’s how dire it was. Putin and Musk are being paid back. Putin threatened Trump when he said there are others ready to take Trumps life. That was a creepy veiled Putin threat, after one of Trump’s assassination attempts. Trump had no response to the huge outpouring for Ukraine after his stunt on Friday. He is a man with a gun to his head. Trump perhaps has been a Russian agent for years, but no matter- it is payback time.

That’s what we’re witnessing.

His followers, his cabinet, find this exhilarating. They are each that far off the mark in their previous lives. They had to be whacked out cabinet choices, or he could never have led them down this absurd path. That’s why Marco Rubio looked so shell shocked on that sofa on Friday. He knows the other side of this.

It is a pressure cooker set up. Somebody could go off the rails. We need to keep the pressure going.

I’m a 30 year combat veteran with tours in Vietnam, Mogadishu, Europe and Central America. Trump is attacking veteran’s health benefits by destroying the Veteran’s Administration, and destroying lives and families by firing thousands of veterans who have served in important roles in the federal government. Even worse, he is getting rid of senior military leaders who have sacrificed for decades to defend world peace. I can’t imagine how anyone who has worn the uniform could possibly support this corrupt man who lied his way out of military service. His closest supporters (Vance, Musk, Rubio, Graham)have never seen a shot fired in anger or could understand what patriotism really means - more concern about others and our country than themselves. I am not sure if I can watch Trump’s address tonight but if I don’t then I won’t know what hammer is getting ready to drop next. I pray that America will wake up as it did during the KKK scare in the 1930s, the McCarthy scare in the 1950s and the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. I realize we are a different country due to social media and the repeated release of lies. My fervent hope is that people like me who live in small communities, who are connected to what really matters can believe and hope to return to values that matter. Truth, compassion, belief in a country that provides hope to the rest of the world.

Really, every red-blooded freedom-loving American member that believes in constitutional democracy, the rule of law, freedom, and the value of human life should be supporting Ukraine and Mr. Zelenskyy in this moment.

The idea that these could somehow have become partisan values in the United States of America as we approach our 250th is beyond bizarre.

It would be wonderful to see a small minority or a total of ZERO too weak to stand with our ally in their ongoing moment of crisis.

Hmmmm. I see where you’re going. But I’d ask this: If Charles Gravier and Louis the XVI of France had asserted in 1779 that Ben Franklin, John Jay and John Adams should cease fire and accept that the most important priority was to make peace with the British Empire immediately to “stop all the needless killing and all the death on both sides”, what would they have said said to their French ally? The result of taking that advice would have been no big deal maybe - just to accept reality and let go of that silly pipe dream of establishing an independent nation under a constitutional democracy capable. I guess I’ve always been happy that the founding American patriots kept the faith and held out until after the Battle of Yorktown to sign on the dotted line for much better terms, but to each their own . . .

I’m trying to get a gauge on the role Dems play in this steamrolling. What can House and Senate Dems do, if anything, to sound the alarm? While I appreciate the level-headedness of Jeffries, his answers to Maddow’s urgings was alarmingly underwhelming.

Right on point ! I am concerned that no one is listening.

Remember that as individuals we can band together to bring power/resistance to bear. We all know right from wrong & the difference from the truth and a lie. As inflation & prices continue to rise, those, like my family, will begin to have their eyes opened & will begin to join us. Trump accused President Zelenskyy of potentially starting WW3 when it is actually us. I’m mentally preparing for that right now as we all should. I’m ready to die for the rights & freedom of my 5 granddaughters & great-granddaughter to be secured; are you?

This is what every decent person in the world feels about Trump and Ukraine. We cannot keep asking ourselves what happened to the Americans. It’s passed, catastrophic as it is. We have to look forward and get to every corner of the country and convince. It’s a mission that cannot be postponed. Enough of analytical chatter. What’s needed is action and NOW!

100% agreed. I think you’re preaching to the choir here, my question is HOW? What are our next steps, as individuals, that can really make a difference? I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I need direction, a rallying point, a person to rally behind. Help. Please.

Only few Democrats protest significantly.

On an extremely petty and minor point, you have used an image that is watermarked by Dreamstime, but it’s a point about fairness, so apologies if this is just a mistake that you didn’t update to the paid for licensed version in error, but if not please think about the optics about an article, which I whole heartedly agree, being about what is right and just, then not doing the same with your own publishing.

But on a final note, I really enjoy your articles.

OMG which image? I can assure you this is an error? I have a huge library of images. As a creator I would never knowingly use an image without licensing.

It’s the flag/eye/teardrop, still has a watermark 🤣

I’m new to Substack so the problem I have now is I can’t remove the image or replace it without deleting the article I don’t think.

I’m still trying to work out how to post an article! :-)

Boycott the maga rally, the hooting, clapping. Watch another tv program so ratings are low. Dems should throw up LIAR signs. FELON.
