Excellent and necessary information here. Thank you. One of the most frustrating things for me is how so many people still aren’t willing to take the time to read such an article or do their own research and ultimately wake the fuck up! But I continue to share and send and discuss and sometimes scream at the top of my lungs. I won’t stop.
It may be time to go back to standing on an up-turned soapbox/plastic bucket in the market square/grocery store parking lot to make available the proposed SAVE act and it’s effects and make exactly your Comment.
He wants to put US bases in Israel on the GAZA strip so he can have real estate on the strip!!!
TRUMP HAS NO MORAL COMPASS, IS A MEGALOMANIAC AND WILL KILL AND DAMAGE WHOEVER HE WANTS TO GAIN MORE POWER AND GREED!
Why are we not surprised! There is no end to the criminal grifting in this country. Pay to play on steroids. If you have enough money to line the pockets of officials you can get whatever you want. We are SO screwed as a country with this Megalomaniac in power!
Jack - consider this: -- the US actually has the people and the organization to do exactly that.
It's called the US Military.
Why - because their Leadership swore an Oath of Allegiance to do just that when each one of them received their Commission as an Officer - because:
--- they swore their Oath of Allegiance to the US Constitution - not to any President or Government.
We Americans just have to get into their face - because most people know some "On Active Duty" or retired (recent or not) -and just demand that they do what they sore to do:
--- fight all enemies, foreign (which they' the best at) or "domestic:
--- which they have never been faced with before.
There is no difference in an enemy - it is or it isn't - and they're hiding behind a "tradition" they've concocted by themselves - multiples of decades ago.
FYI - if you run into some "Brass": there is no Civil Law or UCMJ Regulation that even considers that - and as for the regulations to "not bring disrespect to the Armed Forces" - they cooked that up also.
They "bring disrespect to the Armed Forces" every single day they let go by without standing up to him. They've engaged in an illegal war - every single member of the military involved in bombing and destroying
little girls & boys and their country is breaking their oath. The military is not coming to save us, ever. They are complicit now. The p-resident won't be held accountable, but all the rest of them are fair game. And they know it. At some point we'll ALL need to pull our heads out of our asses and realize that it has to be us - regular american citizens - who save us.
You know -- your the first one to figure that out.
Thank you -- and keep going after the Brass - first - to force them into facing what their doing -- always pointing out that they can't claim being American - while demonstrating that they are goose-stepping Nazis.
This is all so frightening! It is the end of the world as we know it. Nato is dead! He is not able to have partners! He has no respect for anybody, only for his own power. If he involves the American soldiers in a ground war it will be a bloodbath. I think this can easily spiral into an atomic confrontation, I am afraid. We always hope for cooler heads to prevail, but there are no cooler heads around, not in that administration! We can only hope for a miracle, an unforeseen development, that diverts from the current trajectory.
Let’s hope Trump and all of his collaborators get convicted of their war crimes… it doesn’t seem like America is going to hold the pedophiles accountable for their many violations of human trafficking, and their fraud and abuse of government funds… He did not even get impeached for the insurrection he caused, and somehow his Maga supporters rally to reelect him!!! I see a few and fewer manga flags flying as they are embarrassed to call themselves supporters this “mad wannabe King”🤴
Hello Martin. Just want to make sure that you and your readers are aware that I’m not advocating a General Strike. I used the phrase “General Spending Strike” which too easily sounds like General Strike. I have mended my ways. My bad.
Well said as always . The US elections and voting system are not infiltrated by fraudulent voters…. But it’s Trumps only argument in order to manipulate the system and undermine voter confidence. Mail in voting is by and large safe and secure. We need to pay attention to all the voter suppression tactics , intimidation of voters at polling places, and targeted voter role purges - all happening under this administration. When you can’t win legitimately- you cheat your way to power. The Republican Party has lost its way….
I write from Europe but with some trepidation - my friends in the United States just do not have the same perspective as most of my European friends regarding Iran, Hormuz and the hornet's nest that has been kicked. oh they share my view that it is an act of folly - it is more that their rection is entirely domestic and they do not see the huge damage that is being done to the world by an arbitrary decision in which the rest of us have not been consulted. To add to that injury, America's allies are now being belittled, insulted, threatened unless they go and pick up the broken pieces and risk joining a war they believe to be a profound mistake. America's economy is not going to suffer unduly from this - as your Dear Leader repeats ad nauseam, you have all the oil you need and only 2% of it comes through Hormuz (and has the gall to tell us to come and buy it!) The general rise in prices that will come from this will affect the US market only marginally - ($4 per gallon? My heart bleeds - the equivalent price over here is more than double that in France, Belgium etc). It is a gratuitous act of economic violence on us all, and Europe will suffer far more than America.
That hornet's nest could have been dealt with by calling in the professionals rather than the current clueless DIY team at the White House. It was neither necessary nor advisable - but yet when the Israeli gnome on his shoulder whispered sweet nothings about timely opportunity of weakness to be seized and glory awaiting as the sun rose on guaranteed fast victory - there was a rush to act. We can talk about the legality of it all - but that changes not the consequence of this.
So, why did he do it (apart from being persuaded to do so by the Israelis)? Distraction from the Epstein files, a glorious outcome need to fix his growing unpopularity at home, fear of the midterms, arrogance and hubris because of the success of kidnapping the president of Venezuela and appropriating the oil via a quisling?
My guess is all of the above but where we Europeans ponder with growing anxiety the deliberate and extraordinary double standards regarding a far greater catastrophe on our European mainland - and NATO's borders: Ukraine and the first invasion of another country since the war, where the devastation to innocent human life and infrastructure is far greater than Venezuela, Gaza, and Teheran combined - that is beyond understanding (or rather, we don't want to draw the conclusion that presents itself. It is not oil-related, but it does put NATO security at risk, and surely the promised eradication of Ukraine's identity and the probable mass suffering of its people is more important than $4 gasoline.
That is the true distraction. To lift the Russian oil sanctions at this time is an extraordinary gift to Putin, at a time when Ukraine is under constant attack. To limit the supply of weapons to Ukraine is an aberration given the tons thrown around in the Middle East. To have Russian state Duma members given red carpet treatment and shown around Congress as privileged visitors at this time, is a slap in the face of Ukraine but also of your allies. To threaten (by implication) leaving NATO (thus formalising what we have come to believe is de facto given we can no longer be sure of this administration's reaction in the event of need) constantly in the background and recently as leverage for 'not helping in Hormuz' is to stretch the concept of any alliance.
To have Vance and Rubio come here and promote the extremes of our right wing politics and actively get involved in our elections adds to the realisation that there is more to Iran than an Epstein distraction!
As a Brit, I could not agree more. Thank you for this excellent contribution to the conversation and I would highly recommend my American friends read it. - Martin
Gerard, well said! You have identified and explained all the issues with this administration. Many of us do not agree with anything this administration does. As you said, the administration has slapped all of our allies in the face and its treatment of Ukraine is abhorrent. I think Russia is behind all of it - the denial of assistance to Ukraine, the attack on Venezuela, the war in Iran, the starving of Cuba, and next I expect that this administration will turn the US over to Russia! He owes Putin a big one!
The “non-wealthy” people of the US are totally screwed!
To Erla - unless we "other Americans" - not the Nazis that voted for all of this: shame the US Military Leadership to stop playing "toy soldier" with real American Enlisted-person's lives - you spelled it out correctly.
They are playing "toy soldier" with our real lives - while totally dishonoring themselves -- because each one of them swore their Oath of Allegiance - not to any President; Appointee; or Government -- but to the US Constitution - alone - full stop.
Agree 100%! We are trying that approach too. Unfortunately the ones who abide by their oath have resigned from their positions. Others step in and take over.
They get the message from the admin that they have immunity. We keep sending the message.
I'm wondering who needs to reach out to the UN to get some of those international election monitors to oversee our elections. 🤔 Could a US citizen reach out? Or does it have to be a representative from the federal government? I'm ready to make that request right now! I have seen the report of evidence of "irregularities" in the 2024 election from The Common Coalition. I'm sure fElon figured out how to control the machines to flip or erase votes. I'm absolutely sure there was russian interference in 2016. Mr. Mueller said so and I believe him. Drumpf's henchmen were tried and convicted of crimes related to that interference. Even if Drumpf's SAVE (RAPE) AMERICA Act doesn't pass, there will be many illegal shenanigans from repugnicans trying to make sure they don't lose their seats. Our elections have been under attack for a decade, at minimum. We need some international monitoring starting right now, with the primaries. I'm ready to make the call, write the letter, send the email that will get the international monitors here. Can I do that? Because I'd totally do it. Drumpf himself said we have tampering - he can't argue that we need to eliminate it, right?

Trump & MAGA gotta go! We must restore our country!

We are sadly going on the same page. I think we have to consider that a tactical nuclear engagement might take place.

Martin - as a full blooded Scotsman - so do I.
To Gerard -- "Boy -- did you nail it!" - thank you - and it took a European.
European countries shouldn’t let anyone from this administration into their country!

Keep up and increase the pressure - because they are the ones that have and are selling us out.
Also -- state that there is no immunity from an illegal Government - and as Traitors - they will be the first that will learn that - in full.

I would not characterize mass murder as small change
Point taken Robyn, clumsy words on my part.
God will surely smite them.
