Ya know, this is like a twofer for the right wing. The SCOTUS APPEARS to be reasonable and.....moderating. But in reality, D knew this decision was coming and ourt DID give him a road map to do workaround...isn't it suspicious that D and economic team had a detailed workaround ready to go. And as an aside...the Democrats are usually caught flat footed & flabbergasted at defeats on SCOTUS decisions. His relentless pursuit of tariffs will NOT help him wirh Americans. Also...he is sooo relentless/focused on tariff money 💰 that it raises a Q for me. Where IS the money 💰 going??

Tariffs have funded his violent and self serving actions! The USA has lost all credibility, but his wealth has expanded exponentially!

It’s not suspicious that they had a work-around ready — it was always a possibility & this whole thing has been going on for a year now & isn’t popular.

Well I’m thankful the SCOTUS held the line THiS time … one small win for the Constitution. Kavanaughs rejection based on the impossible task of refunding the illegal tariffs showed infantile thinking . Alito and Thomas … well follow the $$$ . The Court rules on legality of issues and not on administrative quagmires . This decision should have been expedited in the first month of the executive order . Get in your lane Kavanaugh .

Secondly the follow-up rant by 🍊rump was off in dementia land. “ I have the power to destroy the country “ … come on Congress . This rant was worthy of section 25 .

Tariffs have never stimulated new manufacturing or job growth . It just fits into

🍊rumps revenge and extortion mentality. He’s a gangster at heart . But hey -

I’m feeling better that Robert’s and Barrett have read the constitution… 😂😂😂😂have a nice Sunday everyone.

The dissent got the Kavanaugh effect since his dissent was a road map for Trump to continue forms of tariffs even though economists have verified how terrible they are on our economy.

Our economy was the envy of the world 18 months ago until it got Trumped.

Kavanaugh obviously works for 1 person and not the people and as such should be impeached with the Judge in Florida.

This is the result of a rich, spoiled brat growing up and seizing the reigns of power in a society.

A very ignorant society!

The following is an excerpt from “Why Judges Can’t Save Democracy” by Professor Robert Tsai, of the University of Boston Law School, published in 2022.

The vision of democracy that prevails among

federal judges, or even in the Supreme Court, may not actually promote broad citizen participation or accountability.

Instead, more archaic and exclusionary theories of power and community might reemerge.

Under such conditions, judges behave like more traditional political actors and see legal disputes over democracy through a partisan lens rather than by applying doctrines fairly and consistently.

Outcomes are increasingly likely to turn on which party benefits from the outcome of legal disputes rather than what keeps the political order

healthy or is best for the common good.

The Supreme Court's recent interest in the so-called "independent state legislature theory" should send chills down the spine of anyone committed to a democratic order that respects each citizen's vote. That theory would permit a state legislature to subvert the will of a majority of the state's voters after the fact and sharply limit a state judiciary's ability to protect the vote.

I just want to hit on few points, the shorter version. You cannot tax your way out of a trade deficit through tariffs unless you want to create an economic crisis due to wages already behind inflation. If you aren't manufacturing or if producing more than the country consume selling to other countries, you will always will have a deficit. If this country has something that we are the dominant prover to offset the imports, that would close the deficit. WE DONT HAVE THAT! When assembled in the US, it still has imported parts that doesn't translate into a finish product for export.

Diane Swonk statement of about the stock market and artificial intelligence fueling business spending, yet didn't include the amount of large foreign investment in these companies and has benefited wealth for households. Households was a strange word to use. There is no guarantee the AI technology will not filter down to only a handful of uses due to the present applications having some major flaws especially those targeted for human replacement. We are a nation of self employed or company workers in service, be it a barista or bricklayer, picker or pilot, lineman or lawyer, housekeeping or hospital.

Next time you see those big trucks on the road, how many are carrying US manufactured goods? Just the East coast ports have dozens a day ships unloading with as many as 64 waiting in ques during peak congestion. That's from hundreds to 3,000 40 ft containers per ship. Mega ships can carry 20,000. That's not including ports in the gulf and West coast.
