I am very concerned that open deadly warfare within the U.S.A. is about to rapidly ramp up. I was amazed that neither Russia nor China took advantage of the entire defense apparatus of this country was sitting in one too well known room, so very close to the coast!

Truth Matters's avatar

I think you and I are on the same page.

The Dems are not great at messaging but the US has always gladly spewed any BS nonsense that Republicans say while questioning everything from the Democrats. They are a huge part of the problem.

Truth Matters's avatar

You will get no pushback from me. We are where we are though, so you have to develop strategies to counter this

Marlo's avatar

The MEDIA is ‘Spewing the nonsense.”

I watched a clip of Fox w the 4 republican “ leaders”… wearing red toes like good little sychophants… telling viewers that it’s all Dems fault… they want free healthcare for “ illegals “… blah blah… blatant lies… no shame. They’ll still get paid, get their healthcare etc. Time to fire everyone and shut this bs down

Marlo's avatar

I watched the same thing - Mike Johnson 🤥 vomiting LIES. I couldn’t believe no one countered him and worse, that they would broadcast it! i turned it off in disgust.

Johnny Canuck's avatar

I thought I wrote US media but it seems to be missing. Sometimes I think AI is fucking up my phone but that might be paranoia.

The statement made by Trump to use the cities as a military training ground was appalling! The public needs to wake up and realize what is happening. Our rights are being chipped away and soon we will all have armed thugs on the streets. Our leaders in Congress are weak and ineffective. Granted they do not have power but this was an opportunity for the Democrats to exert a little power. They should have been asking for more and using this opportunity to point out the abuse of power taking place. Johnson avoided the looming problem of the Epstein files by refusing to swear in the new rep. From Arizona, but nobody mentioned that abuse of power by him. He does this sort of thing every chance he gets and then just lies about it.

Elizabeth Watson's avatar

Right now the Democrats are who we have. They are our one hope for regaining control of the House and Senate in 2026 and thus our one hope for defeating this autocracy. If we constantly find fault and point out their weaknesses no one will want to vote for them and we will have lost. We can just as easily find and point out their strengths and their wins, help build them up in the eyes of the American people so people will be moved to support and vote for them. Otherwise we are creating our own losses.

Truth Matters's avatar

You are correct they are who you have and I have said time and time again they are blessed with a deep bench of talent, if the leadership would just step aside and let them spread their wings.

Unfortunately that won’t happen because self preservation and insider stock trading is too profitable.

Let me assure you the moment there is something to praise I’ll be the first to shout it from the hilltops until then, I’m afraid the truth does matter to me.

One thing is for sure I’m not going to celebrate special election wins that are protest votes against Trump because it provides a false sense of security at a time when Democrats can ill afford it.

I understand we will have to agree to disagree that’s fine. I respect your position Elizabeth.

The midterm election

Will it be free and fair? It won’t be. Will it occur at all? HRH has already said that if we’re at war there’ll be no election. Guess what? If it’s looking bad for him, we’ll be at war to stop the election. The election is important to him because having the majority in the legislature gives the fascist regime the look of legitimacy.

People are putting too much faith in what the midterms will do. They may have a beneficial psychologic effect but in reality the outcome will have little or no practical effect, unless the Dems can get 2/3 majority in the house and senate, which they won’t. They will not be able to undo anything HRH has done or pass new legislation because of his veto power.

Truth Matters's avatar

I fear the same, but I’m tired of being Mr downer. I have to have just a spark of light 💡

Janice Darling's avatar

The Dems may not have either great messaging or great leadership and have done everything wrong according to you but have you noticed how special election after special election, the Dems are winning hands down. If all we had to do was sit on our sullied hands, the way the Repubs are doing in Congress, we would have more time for messaging and leading. But we are stuffing a thousand leaks in the ship that get fished out each morning, whacking a thousand moles as they pop up hourly and can hardly get traction. Remember that Project 2025 was years snd years in the making snd give our hard working (and little appreciated ) Congresspeople some support and credit!

Truth Matters's avatar

On your point on special elections, I hate to tell you that that is a protest vote against Trump. There’s a big difference between winning based on a vision and winning because people hate the other guy. I grant you the result is the same, but don’t get over your skis

If an election was held tomorrow Dems would win, but not because of any vision because they have not announced either a policy agenda or a vision.

That’s not me being snarky, it’s a simple truth. The polls point to the same conclusion.

Janice Darling's avatar

It also can be a combination of the two. Compared to Republicans, Democrats have been on the side of the working person a huge percentage more of the time, from FDR through To Obama and Biden. Yes there isn’t a neatly articulated plan moving forward but EVERYTHING in the Republican’s carefully thought out and crafted Project 2025 is a disaster for the America that I know and love and for which our forebears gave their fortunes and honor and lives. So I am voting against the Project, and all who are carrying it out or being silent while it is being perpetrated upon us, from the brutal ICE raids to the insane tariff teetertottering to the collapse of an inclusive and fair society to the destruction of the very agencies which have been working hard to keep us secure and healthy all these years to the blasting of foreign boats out of the water without proving cause. And I am voting FOR giving my support to the party which believes in science and integrity and global cooperation and not being in bed with our enemies/dictators and not being a child molester and not using our own military to turn on our citizens and believes in the rule of law based on the Constitution and proven legal precedent. Does that help clarify the issue here?

Truth Matters's avatar

I really think you should read the piece again all the way through. In order to fix the problem you have to first recognize you have one and if you can’t do that then you sadly become part of the problem.

There is no unfair criticism here and after creating over 200 Ads for the cause, I think I have at least earned the right to an opinion.

I say again, there is no political answer to this mess. Don’t shoot the messenger.

The deafening silence of the media is matched by the Ministry of Truth's blanketing of so much and so many. How much coverage does the words of wise patriots get? Has their been any mention of General Milley's recent Facebook comment?

The media is the message and the Ministry of Truth's overpowering of reason, discourse, empathy and even reality has drowned our experiment in representative democracy. Whether by design or evolution, wealth and its partner greed and delusion have again overcome virtue and compassion. Unless we can, to quote Phil Ochs, "sing louder than the drums," we will be witnesses to the extermination of the American Experiment.

We are now witnessing the murder of millions in Africa due to the regime's cutting of aid to their health care. We live in a connected world, yet now the regime acts as if the only concern this country has is one man"s greed driven power. Our only hope may be an awakening (waking to empathy and reason seems better than being asleep to me) of reason and virtue, and realizing a better life waits for us with cooperation not antagonism. We have the tools, but can we overcome our tribalism? I still believe there may be a window of opportunity for people to point out that the regime not only has no decency, but is doing daily damage to all but their hunger for power and money. But a way must be found to overcome the Ministry of Truth!

Truth Matters's avatar

You will get no pushback from me Stuart

Maybe they were thinking about how the veterans have been treated and the services that have been cut leaving them without healthcare, etc.

Truth Matters's avatar

As I say, they are in an impossible situation. I’m not criticizing their decision, simply outline the potential outcomes.

The Peaceful Solution-Plan B's avatar

I want to know where the Democratic strategists have been in this whole sorry saga. I wouldn’t pay them in peanuts. I come back once again to the fact that this has gone too far for a political solution, and we are back to my public campaign of economic disengagement.

Hooray!

N Gehrke's avatar

Why don’t Democrats start targeting the “Republican Recession “ ? Isn’t that an appropriate strong talking point

Truth Matters's avatar

Absolutely it is. You should read my earlier work on highlighting the economy as the central weak point.

It flashed across the news, even our international news which once filled with US updates, is waning. I watched no one clap, not a sound and the instant ego of his feel the presence of negative punishment, what the military minds do well. They also knew not to reinforce his attention seeking, no one got up and left the room. Only time will tell if ‘we, the people’ will do something as the US unravels.

Truth Matters's avatar

I think they were hostages and at some point they may be called to drag him out of the White House.

Hostages or disciplined? He has no concept of discipline or what it would take to be stoic, careful, plan well, be precise.

Thank you Martin . ✌️

As ever, my pleasure. Excuse me now while I fight off the doubters 😂😂

Elizabeth Watson's avatar

So easy to sit back and judge after the fact and then project weakness on the Democrats. The "I would have done this!" Stance, is sadly completely useless, unless you're ready to throw up your hands and quit fighting. I'm not. There is too much of this and not enough "Here's what we need to do now". The past is behind us. The future looks bleak but what we need is more direction and less naysaying. If you're that smart, help us come up with a way out. We're all trying. Help us out.

Truth Matters's avatar

Then I suggest you read some of my work which has offered direction. Don’t shoot the messenger. I don’t project, I think after creating over 200 Ads for the Democrat cause, I have at the very least earned the right to voice an opinion. Which I’m confident will prove to be correct.

Elizabeth Watson's avatar

Sorry if I was offensive. And I will read more of your work. I'm just reacting to the negative press Democrats tend to get from our own and I worry about the outcome for the 2026 midterms. It seems like they're damned if they do and damned if they don't right now and I find that to be scary in terms of winning anything. I get that I'm no expert, just Suzie Citizen trying to do my part and feeling scared and trying not to be discouraged.

Truth Matters's avatar

Not at all, I welcome your contribution to the conversation Elizabeth. My comments are left open because I encourage healthy debate.

Despite your perception, I can absolutely assure you I am on your side and am prepared to die on the hill of your cause. Not sure if you watched the video at the end of the piece?

I NEVER write w word that I can’t defend. My only intent is to tell the truth as I see it and I know sometimes that can feel uncomfortable, but you have to read the peace in full to understand the thought that goes into my work.

We may in the end have to agree to disagree, but that’s how democracy works. I’m Martin by the way, nice to meet you.

He’s a strong advocate of Economic Disengagement (Spending Strike) which is the only peaceful solution to the fascist takeover of the country.

The reporting of this administrations daily and most times multiple times a day of moves and statements of authoritarian rule is mentally exhausting.

It's exhausting hearing the same old statements from Democrats. Over 20M losing or no longer can afford healthcare isn't registering. Republican, democrats, independents, men, women, and children will lose their healthcare makes it personal.

Mike Johnson not swearing in the newest member isn't just lack of norm. It is protecting the exposure of pedos in high places in the Epstein files and Democrats haven't called them out for it. They have ammunition but fail to use it in the number of Republicans in official positions in just the last 12 months who has been charged and convicted of SA of children and child porno.

The Democrats weakness in a full on attack of the Republicans congress has transferred to social media and their audience. Without a republican congress in aiding the dictator-in-chief by not following the constitution and oath of office, the narcissistic chief would be gone.

nancy montagna's avatar

I am tired of Dem bashing. Say what you would do and do it. Craft the right messages if you know better. Spend your time and your ink constructively.

Bonnie Sawyer's avatar

I usually agree with you, not today. Most interviews I’ve watched shows push back on the Republicans, finally they are fact checking them. Republicans are being seen as the party responsible for the shut down of government.
