Today’s display of horrific behavior was to be expected from Trump & and his puppet JD. What they did not factor into the script was the fact that Zelensky is a war time President in a country fighting for his survival. He did not come to the Oval Office with his hat in hand. He came as the head of state, whose country is at war and could use some support, even if that means cutting a deal to give up his country’s natural resources. Boot licking was not in his program and he stood up for himself against two quasi bullies who couldn’t beat an 8th grader in a fair fight. He was set up and he did not bend the knee. He is a hero. Now all the NATO countries are going to have to pick up their game, because American has turned out to be a country who is up for sale to the highest bidder, in this case Russia. Shame on our country. We need to remember who we once were and go back to those values while we still can!

Yes you really do! And, yet all the Republican yes-men puppets are falling over each other in their support of this fraud of a president. He needs to be impeached, but that’s never going to happen until the GOP hits rock bottom! They need to be whipped back into something that resembles a Democratic Party again! Until that happens the US is going to become more isolated and alone. Thank you BTW for your beautiful comment, I applaud you! — Your old neighbor, the never ever, 51st State! 🇨🇦

Trump and Vance were a disgrace today and the whole world saw what he’s up to. Just want minerals and more money from a country that has suffered war from Putins regime

The most embarrassing presidential moments in US history...a history that includes James Buchanan and Richard Nixon.

And nobody can seriously believe that any royalties or any benefits from plundered Ukrainian resources would ever, ever, ever go to “the American people.” They would go to oligarchs of Trump’s choosing, with him and his family getting something out of it somewhere along the way. The media needs to ask Trump exactly how extorting an interest in a worn torn country’s assets would play out. I see it as almost exactly what Russia did….Russia allowed individuals to plunder the country’s natural resources and make themselves oligarchs. The only difference is that Trump is trying to shake down another country to plunder its resources. It won’t be America’s federal employees over there mining and drilling. So what private enterprises will get those contracts and where would the proceeds go? Journalists, please ask!

No, Trump and his followers have declared war on the entire world, as well as the American people for those of you who have seen the recently passed budget. Rational, sane Americans continue to stand by Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!

At one point in yesterday's Oval Office bullying spectacle, Trump sneeringly told President Zelensky, "you hold no cards." It was one of the felon's worst lies ever, and that's saying something. You were wrong, Mr. Trump. Zelensky holds many cards. They are golden ones, valuable beyond words. They are the cards of courage, bravery, fortitude, patriotism, honesty, decency, spirit, freedom and humanity. How did President Zelensky get those cards? He earned them, Trump. AND YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CLAIM A SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Let's take a look at history - what President was it that negotiated the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan. You know the one that negotiated with the Taliban without the new Afghanistan government. Then made a deal with the Taliban, with a time line dumping it on President Biden. We all know how that turned out (plenty of blame to go around) maga forgets djt arranged it & blames it all on President Biden.

Now once again djt wants to handle negotiations on his own, not including President Zelenskyy. That worked out so well in Afghanistan when he gave everything away to the Taliban.

By leaving those bases and bringing our troops and families home is a frightening prospect to me as there will no longer be the presence of “US” over there. But also if they came home what would they encounter here? Housing and a fiscally destabilized America. The two of them should be “run out on a rail”, but I’m not sure to where… Who would want them what state would stand up to protect them? Blue states would already be a given, and when the Red States truly figure out what the hell they’ve done the 3 Amigoes won’t be welcome on the continents… hope Elon can build a fortress on an island

I think you are off a bit. I watched closely. I think this was instigated by JDVance without Trump’s knowledge. I think Trump very much wanted that big photo op if his stealing Ukraines natural resources. But JDVance and others behind him had different plans. Vance tried the same kind of tactic with Starmer.

Go back and watch again.

From what I’d seen and read JD Vance is Peter Thiel’s creation.

I think tRUMP is, at some level, acknowledged as being not up to the job, unable to clearly put forth an idea or remember the idea he wanted to put forth. He is not knowledgeable about the history, details or the context of things at play … he is allowed to appear to be the commander in chief. Even he, or perhaps most importantly he, believes he is in charge. Meanwhile there is JD Vance who is a willing servant to whomever he sees as being able to grant him more power or perhaps the POTUS position. I really think tRUMP is a tool … Vance is too but he is being applied in different ways.

One of those ways is to somehow wedge himself in, intercept the ball, and then carry that ball to some previously determined goalpost. He did manage to wedge himself in to a conversation where he had no real place. From there he tried and failed to make Zelensky do anything but Shine.

My thoughts along very similar lines:

Reading the ruins of history for the world's future under Trump:

A reflection on Trump's public assault on Ukraine's Zelenskyy, February 2025, in light of Hitler's tirade against Austria's von Schuschnigg, February 1938

Europe cannot immediately match the military power of the US. And another important prong being floated is to have EU based equivalents to Meta and Amazon and the like to thwart the power of the techbros. Tesla sales fell 46% in January in Germany; Amazon is down. Hit America where it really hurts: the market.

“Trump abandoned Ukraine and Musk supports extremist movements in Europe because he wants to weaken the EU. “ Europe is now the biggest obstacle to their vision. Musk wants the total subjugation of Europe and European media, especially for his AI and other technology strategies.

Agreed! But I didn't like "Lady Lindsay" -- feminizing someone's name shouldn't be used as a way of insulting them.
