The shocking truth about Trump’s National Security Strategy is that the civilisational erasure the report refers to, is code for the assertion that immigration is resulting in Islam replacing Christianity in Europe, which is frankly not only false, it’s farcical. What it does do, however, is play into the white nationalism narrative that the US is actively seeking to promote throughout Europe. What it’s looking to do, is break up the EU and install US proxy governments in those countries not aligned to its Aryan unregulated free market ambitions for Europe. It is no different to the European experience with Hitler in the 1030s. Rest assured, Europe has no intention of going back.
Don’t you think it’s odd that the right sees a European white teenager as a next-generation member of society, yet an immigrant teenager is seen as a ‘fighting age male’? It’s nothing more than an imported US right-wing talking point that’s slowly infecting British society, aided and abetted by Trump ally Nigel Farage. We also saw in London over the weekend, convicted criminal Tommy Robinson, now claiming to have found God. A jailbird singing Carols, claiming Christmas has been cancelled and that UK citizens can be arrested for praying. All of it is part of a complete fabrication, which resonates on social media and on GB News, the UK incarnation of Fox Entertainment.
To be clear, there are no police raids on churches rounding up groups of religious criminals indulging in prayer. There are no UK arrests of Christian evangelists preaching to shoppers in town centres across the country at the weekend. The likes of Tommy Robinson are charlatans seeking traction for their far-right political bile; they’ve been told by the American right that religion is the magic sauce to mix with racism to inject a religious crusade mentality. For context, given a choice between Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage, Trump would choose Robinson every day of the week. After all, convicted criminals stick together, right?
I can tell you from my lived experience growing up in an economically challenged part of the UK, where the loss of coal mining and heavy steel production has had a significant impact. I’ve seen the many faces of society, having long lived alongside immigrants. These are communities that have brought cultural diversity, enriching British society. White men did not build the UK; the hard-working native population built this nation in partnership with a large immigrant workforce.
My late father was a senior manager at the town’s glass factory, one of the leading employers. He became the go-to guy for factory work for the Pakistani immigrant community in the town. He would tell me on many occasions that it would take two homegrown workers to match the productivity, reliability and loyalty of the Pakistani workers he hired. It’s why, at the eulogy I delivered at his funeral, the packed audience was a celebration of multicultural Britain, of which I remain immensely proud.
‘Mr Pat’ (Patrick), as he was affectionately known in the Asian community, was not just a boss, but a long-serving senior member of the Town Council. His life was celebrated on that day by the Mayor (a job he had refused 3 times), along with council leaders and colleagues, as well as Members of Parliament. Many of the workers he had hired came in numbers to pay their respects, along with the struggling families he had helped find affordable social housing for as a councillor.
He often went on to help the same families furnish their homes through the charity he headed, which provided second-hand furniture and white goods to struggling and vulnerable tenants. He was a good man, I’m proud to call my father, who had no time for the social Darwinism of conservative politics.
The immigrant community built thriving businesses in the town. Taxi companies would not be able to operate without immigrant drivers. Equally, public transport would cease to operate as would the NHS, which relies heavily on immigrant staff from orderlies to nurses to highly skilled consultants and surgeons. That’s before we talk about restaurants and fast food outlets. Their industrious nature has helped sustain the UK economy for decades, as they hold jobs considered essential to the everyday functioning of British civil society.
Each year, I attend the locally hosted national South Asian festival, a celebration of the culture of a fiercely proud British Asian community. It features everything from dragon boat racing to the extraordinary beauty of Asian fashion and the irresistible taste of delicious South Asian cuisine. It pays testament to the fact that diversity, far from being a weakness, is a superpower.
In 2016, mainly white right-wing politicians weaponised the presence of immigrants to tell a pack of bare-faced lies about ‘taking back control’ of our borders. It was a slogan that saw the UK leave the EU. This was the single most significant act of economic self-harm in recent history. A move that has cost the UK economy at least £100 billion every year since. Immigrants didn’t put the UK in the economic position we are in today; far-right politicians did that all by themselves.
While they were destroying the economy, the rich continued to fill their pockets as the wealth gap continued to widen exponentially. Let me be clear, uncontrolled immigration is unquestionably damaging. It places stress on government services, hospitals, and schools. It’s a challenge as much to our humanity as it is to the nation’s social infrastructure and welfare. As in the US, the situation results from a total failure of UK immigration policy. Before leaving the EU, the UK government could send migrants back to Europe under the Dublin III Regulation. This allowed asylum seekers to be transferred to the first EU country they entered. BREXIT ended that.
Every which way we turn, the people of the UK were shafted by nut job conservatives that now want to sing Carols while falsely claiming Christmas is cancelled. They want to blame Muslim immigrants for the wreckage they left behind with BREXIT. All while pointing to the boogeymen of ‘fighting-age men’ on small boats that we can’t send back to France because they voted to ditch the very laws that allowed their expulsion. That’s before we discuss the £100 billion per year in lost trade with Europe. You’ll have to excuse me if I’m a tad sceptical of the far-right political argument. These are unserious idiots living in a world in desperate need of serious minds.
Let’s examine the UK Muslim replacement theory, shall we? In a population of around 68 million, just 4 million are Muslim (51% of whom were born in the UK), which is close to 6%. 46% of the population describes themselves as Christian, followed closely by 35% who are recorded as having no religion (this includes myself), 6% are Muslim, and the rest are made up from Hindu (1.7%), Sikh (0.9%), Jewish (0.5%), and Buddhist (0.5%). It’s at this point that you see just how absurd the claim is that Muslim fundamentalists have overrun the UK. Non-British Muslims account for just 3% of the population.
We might as well deal with the other nonsense while we’re here, so I’ve covered all the bases. Sharia law is NOT formal UK law. It operates through voluntary Islamic councils (such as the Islamic Sharia Council), which guide Muslims on religious matters (marriage, divorce, inheritance), based on the Quran and Sunnah. Any outcome DOES NOT have legal standing under UK law. It’s like a Catholic seeking spiritual advice from a Catholic priest on similar matters. The claim that Sharia law is replacing UK courts is yet another preposterous lie.
Islamic Councils are allowed to exist and operate in the UK as a measure of cultural respect in our secular society. We are NOT a Christian nation; we welcome all peace-loving faiths, respecting people’s right to worship without fear of persecution. The recent rise in antisemitism as a result of the Israeli government’s abhorrent murder of tens of thousands of innocent women and children in Gaza is inexcusable. It has no place in any society. Two wrongs will never make a right.
I unreservedly condemn the actions of Hamas for the war crimes they committed against innocent Israelis on October 7. However, I equally condemn the barbaric, disproportionate, blood-drenched lust for retribution embarked upon by the far-right nationalist Israeli government. The world rightly condemns the targeted heinous terrorist attack on members of the Jewish community at Bondi Beach in Australia over the weekend, which saw 15 people murdered.
I also believe it is worth noting that since the ‘alleged’ US-led ceasefire which came into effect in Gaza on October 10, nearly 400 Palestinians have been killed, many of them innocent women and children; that’s an average of almost 7 EVERY DAY. It is disgusting and unconscionable for Benjamin Netanyahu to use the deaths of so many innocent people in Australia to suggest that this was a result of Australia recognising Palestinian statehood. It is a measure of the fact that moral decency has long left the building when it comes to Netanyahu and his far-right political thugs.
Returning to the UK, let’s not forget the elephant in the room, Epstein, sorry, Muslim grooming gangs, which remains another hot topic obsession of the far right. As the father of a sexually abused daughter (NOT by such a gang), this is a subject that is deeply personal for me. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that local authority leadership, social services, and law enforcement failed thousands of innocent young girls, and these failures rose to the very top of local government. We know about it because action was finally taken once the full extent of the problem was uncovered, unlike in the Epstein case, where money and power protected the perpetrators. In this case, fear of perceived cultural targeting protected the Asian men. These were sexual predators who committed the same abhorrent crimes against innocent children, who were mainly but not exclusively underage young white girls.
Far too late for far too many of the victims, justice has been or is being served. Ironically, they were the same target demographic as those in the Epstein case, primarily the vulnerable. Each of the perpetrators found guilty has been given long prison sentences for their heinous crimes. Just as with Epstein, some victims have committed suicide after being unable to cope with the aftermath of their suffering. The cases provided a feeding frenzy for the far right, who weaponised the suffering of the victims for political gain, all as part of a UK white nationalist agenda. The far right in the US was quick to jump on the bandwagon to help amplify the outrage.
There has been deep criticism of law enforcement for not separating immigrant crime from other crimes. The point is, in the eyes of the law, crime should be treated as crime regardless of the perpetrator's demographic. Yet to this day, we remain obsessed with the nationality of who committed the crime, on some crazy assumption that it’s somehow more serious if an immigrant commits a crime.
The tragic truth is that, as reported by the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse, it is that :
Under-18s make up one-fifth of the population in England and Wales, but two-fifths of victims of recorded sexual offences
It’s almost impossible to summarise the complex nature of detecting and prosecuting child sexual abuse, so I am also linking to the interim report from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, commissioned by the UK Government. The fact remains that white British men overwhelmingly make up the majority of child sex abuse cases in the UK. While Tommy Robinson sings Carols and praises God in London for clicks, views and profit, one of the primary gangs of perpetrators of child sexual abuse has historically been catholic priests on BOTH sides of the Atlantic.
There is no typical child sexual abuser; they exist in all walks of life. The link to immigrant-driven sexual offences is carefully crafted by right-wing ‘think tanks’ like the Centre for Migration Control, run by the Reform UK activist Robert Bates. Organisations like this become alleged legitimate sources for misrepresented data to support narratives from the likes of Nigel Farage and conservative golden boy Robert Jenrick. The playbook is consistent: take a grain of truth and wrap it in a thick blanket of lies. I’ll conclude this extensive piece by saying that my findings in the UK will mirror the same false narrative in EU countries. Is there an immigration issue? YES, unquestionably there is, but most of it is of our own making through conflict. Bizarrely, it’s actually a testament to European values that those fleeing war and persecution are offered refuge often at great political expense. As with all goodwill, it is all too often abused and just as easily weaponised by malign actors for political gain, as is happening right now.
As for lectures, threats, and interference in the political affairs of European sovereign states, I would strongly recommend that the man who is now a Russian asset, who often struggles to string a coherent sentence together if he can stay awake long enough, turn his attention to the $38 trillion in debt he’s burdened America with. He should be a little more mindful that Europe owns around 30% of that debt and can really make his day by dumping it. As for child sexual abuse, it wasn’t the UK justice department that spent hours scrubbing any reference to the rich and influential people in the UK child sex abuse Inquiry, calling it a hoax.
His National Security Strategy should spend less time focusing on the baseless accusation of a Muslim takeover of Europe and more on thanking Europe for not dumping its US debt, which would send the US into recession. On the point of cultural destruction, that’s pretty rich coming from a country started by EUROPEANS that’s just 250 years old.
From a cultural perspective, the suggestion of cultural erasure is a farce. UK and European culture is unparalleled around the world; the coronation chair above is three times older than the US, before we even get to Rome and Athens. Europe has endured far more than the threats of a rotund convicted criminal manchild intent on dividing it for profit, just as he’s attempting to do with Ukraine. Rest assured, there will be no American empire that even comes close to subjugating Europe and its allies.
