We are living in times few could have expected. Times when election lies have delivered nothing but self-inflicted harm, but no Republican dare stand up and say ENOUGH of this nonsense
this is a really, really excellent article filled with a bunch of information that I am sure most people do not know. I personally am attempting to stay involved in the political process although on a daily basis, it is so overwhelming and I find myself having to have gone on anti-anxiety medications because of the current state of our United States. unfortunately, the rest of my family and friends have become so inundated with the negative information currently being pummeled at our population that they no longer wish to discuss politics in anyway. I know they will vote and I know how they will vote and so while I have to relatively speaking, stay silent in any discussions with my family and friends, I just know that or let me just say I hope that the midterms will turn this entire situation around. I am intending to become much more vocal with them when we get closer to the midterms so that they are aware of the situations because most of them refused to even watch TV or look at any of the sub stack or other ways of getting the correct and accurate information. Every day I am saying positive affirmations that all of this negativity and violence currently going on with our elected representatives will cease.
sounds like we’re kind of in the same place, but we just need to be patient with our friends and family. I know mine feel the same way I do politically so that comforts me in someway and if your friend at least supports somewhat of your position, I think that that is what we take away and believe that they will vote correctly at the midterms.
this unauthorized bombing of Iran, and now when I read the news this morning, more and more countries are getting into the fray against the United States for what they have done is really disturbing. I joined the sub stacks because there are so many bright and capable young people on this new way of communicating that I find a lot of comfort in believing there are more and more people that will take care of the situation. Take care and be gentle with your friend and yourself Linda.
Ever since I was young, and I have always been interested in history, I have always asked how it's possible that someone like Adolf Hitler came to power. I was born in 1963 so only read books and heard stories about that era, and never really understood how that works. But now that I live in the Trump era I fully understand how people like Adolf Hitler came to power, after being elected by the people. ICE is acting like the SS with their Nacht und Nebel tactics, taking away people from their homes and work and sending them to concentration camps, while their families don't have a clue where they are. And than I see 'We The People' do nothing to stop ICE because of the fear. ICE does not hesitate to kill, and they work along with the police force and the marines. You can no longer trust the police force. They are no longer protecting The People but support the masked ICE officers. Just like what happened in Europe in the 1930's and 1940's. History is repeating and everybody is living in fear so nobody really stands up, out of fear being taken away to a camp in Libya or South America. That is sad.
Thank you for that, I hope I can find it somewhere. Long documentairies are fine. I remember watching 'Shoah' by Claude Lanzmann the full 9 and a half hour.... That is one that I will never forget. And after seeing that, you think, nobody is ever going to be following orders from a dictator just like that.... and in the next morningpaper you read stories as if that part of history never really happened.
The press needs to stop playing along. This isn’t leadership—it’s theater. What we’re watching is a man being walked through photo ops with a magic marker, signing bills he couldn’t begin to explain. Everyone in the room knows it. Democrats prop him up, Republicans exploit it, and the media covers it like it’s normal. It’s not. Pull back the curtain—this isn’t a presidency, it’s a managed performance. The public deserves better than a figurehead reading stage directions. Call it what it is.
100% Can you imagine any Democrat supporting that monster while his own Trumpublicans kowtow to his every whim.. As you stated, the Republicans, including "Their Leader", are fully responsible for this monster, and allowing him to get away with his vile evil existence.
I was just using this story as a metaphor re: tRump and had to explain it to my partner (He's a smart guy but oddly had never heard the story of the Emperor's New Clothes 🤦♀️).
Those of us begging people not to elect him knew he was vulnerable to this. It is so frustrating to be right when the geopolitical reality is so dangerous.
Contrary to what some say, "the people" did not re-elect tRump: unlimited Corporate Campaign Contributions, false promises and other lies, placed that loser ~ former tv game show host, twice impeached, convicted rapist, convicted felon, into the office of POTUS.
I agree. A ton of misinformation and voter manipulation did a lot to hand him victory. At the same time, in a recent post by a Democrat strategist, rather than sharing a bulleted list or summary of current immigration policy, they said “all you have to say is that the current deportations are immoral and un-American.” When my MAGA neighbor piously says, “they broke the law and you don’t reward lawbreakers of you just get more of them,” immoral and un-American doesn’t answer their criticism at all. You need to explain amnesty, revoking refugee status, the long time it can take to be qualified /vetted as a refugee (unless you are from South Africa and white), etc.
Our current politics suffers from sound bites and a dearth of actual knowledge. We have to make major strides to change that.
This article was forwarded to me. I read the comments and didn’t see one from you. If I were to comment, I would interject that until both sides of the isle see the necessity of lowering our so called defense budget there will never be enough money for impoverished Americans. Adding millions of new illegal aliens to the mix is totally unfair to the existing poor population and diminishes what few opportunities that do exist. I get the feeling you didn’t listen to Martin Luther king’s, “ Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence “. Too bad because it is more applicable today in the sense, that we’re willing to put our youth In harms way once again. Spend trillions on more death and destruction for the most evil ( my opinion ) country on Earth, Israel. By the way, MLK was assassinated one year after he gave this speech. He left the civil rights movement and criticized the war. Lyndon Johnson personally condemned MLK, claiming it would make his job as President too hard to perform.
Thank you for your comment. I am generally familiar with the speech, but need to refresh myself which I will.
The Israel Iran element of the piece was not an in depth analysis, simply because it’s a fluid situation. I will be commenting more when I can see a clearer picture.
This whole affair goes back to 1951 when Iranian Parliament nationalized the Anglo-Iranian oil company, largely controlled by British interests. This led to a coup d’etat led by MI6 and CIA, that installed the Shah of Iran Reza Pahlavi. A brutal dictator backed by the west until the “Iranian Revolution” forced his departure in 1979. The capture of US Embassy and its personnel was done to get the United States to return the Shah to Iran in exchange for these hostages. It is easy to surmise that a fair and equitable arrangement between the oil ( British ) companies and Iran would have put off any attempt at nationalization.
This comment I wrote recently, the thrust of it is, Iran has never been forgiven for standing up to imperialism and colonialism. The oil company eventually morphed into BP, with other foreign entanglements, eventually to be known as, “ The Seven Sisters “.
I don’t agree with you re: how to keep Americans safe. Iran was the biggest threat to our safety and the entire world. Iran was a vicious dictatorship (put in power by the US during Obamas period) that oppressed & murdered women, gays, men & anyone who didn’t follow their commands. On top of that their nuclear capability which the US also allowed to grow when they removed the freeze on Iranian assets is the biggest threat to not only my beloved Israel but to the entire region.
IRAN WAS THE BIGGEST PRODUCER OF TERRORISTS IN THE WORLD. Good riddance to the Iran that held their own people hostage and murdered so many.
I echo the comments that I think your comprehensive writing is much needed. Compartmentalization has been drummed into professionals for decades. When I trained and worked in academic hematology we were advised to chose a niche and mine that niche. Mine was Factor XIII a fascinating transglutaminase and I loved studying congenital and acquired FXIII deficiency . In fact ten years ago, if I were asked what I would be at now I would say that I would likely be heading to Washington to attend the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis Meeting this month.
I did not voluntarily quit the career I spent 12years training for and twenty-five years working at . I was pushed out. The world of academic medicine can be harsh and my liberal views were passionately hated by my colleagues. Fortunately for me I discovered that there is now a science of altruism, compassion and kindness to underpin the beautiful Teachings on Wisdom and Compassion in 2017. I worry that too few of the disabled people and the members of the highly prestigious vaccine committee so viciously and unjustly booted out by creepy Robert Kennedy may know anything about self compassion and self stewardship. I was fortunate to take the 8 Week Compassion Cultivation Training Meditation course on Zoom in August and September 2017 while I was physically and mentally at an all time low due to the adverse effects of chemotherapy . I was also highly motivated to endure as my husband died of secondary cancer in 2014 and our sons were age 16 and 26. Also I could draw my own survival curve. I was fortunate that I began reading autobiographies of survivors as a teenager. I was not forced to read the dystopian books inflicted on my sons in adolescence nor was I exposed to all the horrific visual images they have watched. Fortunately we all found our way back up out of dank rabbit holes. I think people need to be thrown all kinds of floaties and life saving devices these days . So please continue to help people understand that not everything is controllable.

....or a detention center in their own home state...it's beyond oppressively repulsive, as is the orange traitor.

1. File Articles of Impeachment
• Yes, any House member can file.
• It won’t pass, but it forces the issue into the record and headlines.
• Example: Marjorie Taylor Greene files garbage articles all the time. Where’s the Dem version—on Thomas? On Trump?
2. Flood the Courts
• 14th Amendment lawsuits: Can be brought in states by voters, legal orgs, and supported by Dems publicly and legally.
• Bar complaints: Any citizen or group can file. Dems could organize a wave of them—publicly.
3. Demand Public Hearings
• Senate Democrats still chair committees.
• Dick Durbin (Judiciary) could subpoena Alito, Thomas, Harlan Crow.
• May not compel answers—but the spectacle alone matters.
4. Introduce Legislation
• It won’t pass the House, but:
• Ethics reform
• Term limits
• Court expansion
• Do it anyway. Build the case. Drive media. Set the agenda.
5. Publicly Refer Crimes to DOJ
• Send criminal referrals on Trump and SCOTUS corruption.
• Push DOJ to act. Pressure counts.
The Dems prop him by not doing their jobs —because silence is complicity. Even if they can’t win votes, they can:
• Shape the narrative
• Expose corruption
• Document the crimes
• Rally public outrage
• Lay the foundation for when power shifts
If Democrats refuse to do even that? Then they’re not the opposition. They’re just standing quietly in the collapse..
It's all in the hands of the Heritage Foundation and the Project 2025 group.
Stephen Miller, Russell Vought, Peter Theil, JD Vance, et al.
However, they don't all have the same agenda. Stephen Miller wants a white supremacy nation. He is behind the immigration tragedy that is unfolding.
Russell Vought wants to destroy the existing government, and as head of OMB he is doing it from the inside out.
Peter Theil and Elon want a technocracy, and the data theft is their contribution to the disaster that we are in.
All this and more is going on in the background while we watch puppet dumpster donny crash before our eyes.
The America we knew on January 1st of this year is dead. The damage will last for years. 😞😭
May I ask how are the Democrats propping up tRump?
100% Can you imagine any Democrat supporting that monster while his own Trumpublicans kowtow to his every whim.. As you stated, the Republicans, including "Their Leader", are fully responsible for this monster, and allowing him to get away with his vile evil existence.

I just posted on him being an ADDICT.
Some of us are too busy laughing at the antics of man-baby as he gets used as well. 🤣
Laughing at the harm he is inflicting upon countless innocent others..?

Was Obama President in 1979 ?

While I never embrace or condone the abuse of other beings - especially any innocent animal, I respect your assessment and suggestions!
*unless by “snake” your intended meaning is his “pocket/zipper snake”…perhaps Melania has seen to that, already.
That’s very kind of you Jan, rest assured I will march on. I’m Martin by the way.
