I think the big lie has always been that conservative Republicans are good for the economy. They are just good for the rich economy. Most have never wanted to enhance opportunity for poor people. I believe that Trump AND THE MAGAS have a hidden agenda. And that is, the culling of American citizens. Cutting off tax revenue? The tariff money is being collected. Where are these dollars going? Into the US treasury? If these tariffs were found illegal/unconstitutional, will they be refunded by the government to the companies that paid the tax? Will they be refunded to the consumer be refunded by the companies?
I think there may be a lost in translation moment here. A tax cut by definition chokes off tax revenue.
You are not of course correct to say tariffs are taxes, I wouldn’t hold your breath on tariff refunds and as for the consumer being defunded, there’s about as much chance of that as Trump telling the truth.
