On November 3rd the people didn’t just speak up and speak out; they screamed for change. Now they have to hand the job over to politicians, and that, I fear, is where the point of failure often lies.
Excellent post Martin. I 100% agree, and have the same concerns. Hope the new swell of "untainted yet by money" electors have enough sway to persuade the well intentioned but "influenced by money" electors to get on board with a dynamic rebuild of our government as we know it.
Thank you Dana, I appreciate it. I have more to say on this because I think it vitally important that the American people understand the full extent of the situation ahead. The people have done what was asked of them. Sadly I DO NOT trust the current Democratic leadership to seize the opportunity presented.
I am working very hard in the background with the new Truth Matters Project which I’ll talk about tomorrow in the context of important next steps.
The American people's job is NOT done yet! We got many good people in office but now we must fight against the Centrist, AIPAC and corporate owned Democrats. When we accomplish this, then we can say we have done our job.
Am I the only one to notice. Republicans are trying to create a narrative that their loss was all about the war. Only about the war and JD Vance always hated it and well it was their only mistake they didnt want them to have a bomb. Let’s not allow them to rehabilitate their massive grift, tariffs, weponizing all of govt etc …GET IN FRONT OF IT OR GET BURRIED IN 28
It's both and ASAP! No more mealy mouth excuses! If the people in positions capable of accomplishing this can but won't; they need to GO BYE BYE and capable politicians need to take their places.
Thank you for your article. Everyone I have talked with are somewhat surprised by the huge turnout but there were hundreds of organizations across the country that got the vote out. Most people DID NOT vote for the Democrats….we voted against corruption, cruelty, injustice, incompetence, and inequality. Now let's see what the worthless party can do. I don't have faith in the dems but I do have faith in the courageous people who were elected!
Our job isn’t over - I’m exhausted - but we keep going . Now we do everything to make sure that the Dema get it - call all the time , email , show up at events - and prep a bench to replace them if they don’t.
Thank you, Martin, for this excellent post. Since yesterday morning I have been concerned with our Democratic future. I've grown old seeing too many screw-ups when Democrats suddenly win and take over; getting petty and spinning their wheels in chasing nonsense. The hardest thing to do politically is to lower prices on fuels, food, and everyday living costs. Killing the tariffs should be easy since Congress controls these, not the president. They need to take back the power of the House (and the power of the People) in all the areas the Republicans have given up to our wannabe dictator over the past two years. We need to get control of the billionaires who are destroying our country along with Trump.
Capitalism is the best ism in the world for modern society but it needs guardrails to keep it in check. I learned this in my Econ classes half a century ago and it still applies. After a career in military medicine, I've become a raving Bernie Sanders socialist concerning healthcare. An active duty , retired, or dependent ID card was all you needed for your care. The day I first left the service I got a job right away but had to wait for health insurance. No job, or in-between jobs meant no health insurance. One should not have to depend on being employed by a company that offers a decent health insurance plan for its employees. I've known too many people hanging on to jobs they didn't like just for the health benefits for a spouse or child with cancer.
That's my rant. Reading your post triggered that in me, but again, I really hope the Democrats don't screw up this gift that We the People have given them.
We need to thank Schumer and Jeffries for their service and they are done in leadership. Move fighting progressives into leadership and use Bernie as a consultant.

Thank you again for your support,

To be clear I misused the word "Electors" I was intending to say representatives. Too little sleep!
Me too!

No you’re not Scott and you are right about the important task ahead.
It isn't AFFORDABILITY or ACCOUNTABILITY.
It's both and ASAP! No more mealy mouth excuses! If the people in positions capable of accomplishing this can but won't; they need to GO BYE BYE and capable politicians need to take their places.

but I'm very hopeful.
I’ll be waiting for the next installment. Thank you Martin

yes, corporate dems can derail our resurrection.
