I am just a mom, an old weak mom with adult children. I am the resistance! I hear you and I too have been trying to tell people they need to stop spending. I have been promoting what I believe is a compromise to a full blown strike. Americans can't stop spending and will never commit to a strike. The ultra rich have more money than they and their families can spend in their life times. That money could eliminate poverty! Less than 95% of the US population is supporting the resistance on the required daily basis. That 95% are doing absolutely nothing to resist. A major component of The People's Project is encouraging people to STOP SPENDING MONEY on non-essential. Sure it would be great if eleven million Americans committed to buying necessities only but Americans do not like to make sacrifices! People's Project gives them options and alternatives ways to stop spending money. Everyone has to make a sacrifice! So instead of the 3.5% of American it may takes 20 or more millions of people making small sacrifice - it could have the same impact as those that go all out to support the resistance.
As an example there is a Water Only Movement. Super easy but sugar and caffeine are addictive and people won't give up their beverages. So please commit to the Water Only movement if you can but if you can't choose to stop spending on something else. Decide to boycott fast food restaurants instead. I am just a mom, an old weak mom with adult children. I am the resistance! I hear you and I too have been trying to tell people they need to stop spending. I have been promoting what I believe is a compromise to a full blown strike. Americans can't stop spending and will never commit to a strike. The People’s Project is not as powerful as a full blown strike, it may take more time and more supporters than a true strike but I truly believe this could work, especially with global support. Please read the comments I am about to send you and tell me if you think this could work. I am running out of steam, if you don’t think this could work please tell me so I can stop trying to promote this movement. If you do think this could work please take up the cause. Make it your own if you wish. Your voice and platform are much bigger than mine. More people will listen to you. I believe this is a movement that all of our Substack community could get behind!
