Besides of the shutdown situation, is SNAP not one of the things in that horrible bill which is supposed to be ended or substantially cut anyway? Not sure about the time lines but isn’t that one of the cruel things the GOP wanted to do anyway to finance the billionaires?
I thought they weren’t supposed to use ‘inflammatory partisan language’ on government websites. They were ordered to remove all that playground bully verbiage by the court. And they go and put more of that BS online. They should be hit with contempt of court and should face charges. In a democratic country I mean 😕
Oh no I am so sorry. I thought of it more as a question. And I answered it. Perhaps not as gracious as I would like to. I am dyslexic. I love words and yours in particular. There's a fundamental strength and humility based on your consistent honesty and so beautifully woven. Yours is my top Substack and I look forward to your words. I feel you care and that you are not from the USA because of your graciousness and not based on ego but heart!
I’ve read through it Sue and I have to applaud the effort that has been invested.
My conclusion is there are so many what ifs and while I did read it to the end because I felt it deserved that, he lost me at the GOP electing Liz Cheney as speaker.
I don’t feel there is a political solution to this problem and I have been very open about my feelings on this.
The only way in the short term is to some extent self-defeating. Economic stress and that’s why I advocate for strategic economic disengagement.
I go you one further on economic distress by an easy way to deal with it, to create a Coalition for the Good, by whatever name, where many millions would easily follow instructions to boycott, march, whatever. Maybe Miles Taylor’s new game will do that, but I don’t like it being delivered whole cloth so we vote on this or that that gets proposed rather than a more inclusive process of developing that massive resistance that we could be a part of. But however we do it, we are ripe for a coalition to be a force for change. BUT that doesn’t get rid of the administration. You do a disservice to not read all of Greg Olear’s proposal. He is no fool, and his rationales for doing what would seem to us to be odious are worth considering. As I say, it’s not a finished document to act on but a proposal to work with that is the best one I’ve seen. No?
I just said I did read ALL his proposal. While he lost me early, I did read the article in its entirety. My conclusion didn’t change. He is correct in terms of the elements and pieces of the puzzle and that’s what makes it vulnerable.
As to your idea of a gathering point for guided action, it mirrors my idea of what I’m calling The Truth Portal I am working on a framework as I write this.
I presume you meant valuable. If you put out something even better, god bless, but if not this seems to me to be a juicy template to work with, especially with its methidology for getting rid of the whole administration which is such a stumbling block for the masses of us with impeachment desires.
Actually I meant viable, my autocorrect playing games with me. I’m not looking to undercut anyone with my thinking, but if you think that is a viable plan with that many moving parts, I wish you well.
The key here is I am simply sharing ideas and observations. If I have a suggestion that needs a prototype I can build it. I’m not looking to sell a plan, just to offer guidance and direction and practical examples are easier to walk through with people.
Have you got other ideas for removing the administration? There are a lot of things I wouldn’t do that he includes, but taking it as a starting place for everyone to get involved with, making it better, is not just about following a leader but could be a giant cocreation in the spirit of we the people being the creative force to resort to, as even an evolutionary push for humanity to get to another level to become who we can be or we’re out of here.
Since always!! But we’ve been fortunate here in America not to have someone in power trying to use it to their advantage!! This man is taking us to the edge of starvation, and the brink of a civil war!! Congress needs to pull up their boot straps and put their foot down and stand up to the wanna be dictator of this country!! #NoKings
I appreciate your point of view and all the work and effort you make every day to get truthful talking points "out there" and with all due respect, the starvation weapon goes back to the Crusades...and the most relevant illustration today is Gaza.
We never seem to learn...the lessons are so painful.
I love your work and your heart and what a great in depth mind. I sort of got the gist, unfortunately it is currently underway in the middle east and it is one of the most heart breaking cruelty that makes one feel helpless and lost! I hope to read more from your powerful insights and your wonderful heart to hear us!
You raised an important point and it’s very unlike me to be so clumsy with words, it’s got to me I have to admit, but that’s because I care.
As for Gaza, I have written at length about it and I currently have a new piece in the pipeline which gets to the very heart of the problem.
I don’t write about it here, but I’ve been waging a separate email war with my government on the issue. I have long been an advocate for Palestine self determination

You are correct
I wish I wouldn’t be. That is all so sad 🙁
ruzzians been using it for decades
I'm one of those losing their SNAP benefits. In a city as $$$ as NYC, it makes a real difference!
I'm so sorry, Nancy. This is a terrible situation. I heard today that your governor is releasing state contingency funding to help. Is that correct?

They removed the document overnight last night. They knew people would go looking for it
I know, but they added the “it’s the democrats who don’t want to feel hungry children” post in place of it
It is back up, I just checked.
Ask the Native American tribes.
The ones I’m in contact with are scrambling to get hold of some food resources before SNAP magically stops tomorrow (10/31) night.
It’s worthy of note that Machiavelli also said, “Whoever is the cause of another becoming powerful, is ruined himself”.
It is amazing the number of people who don't learn this until it is too late.
Oh, heck, since war was invented.

Please, no apology required I struggled all day with the post as it took me a while to find the document they had deleted from the USDA.
I am my own worst critic and I hate being clumsy with language.
Have a great day - Martin
Martin, this, from Greg Olear, is the first thing I've seen about how to get rid of the whole administration: https://gregolear.substack.com/p/the-liz48-plan-this-is-how-we-remove. Would you evaluate?????
I'd see putting it out as a beginning template to work from, where a plan is being refined by everyone. Could that work?
I’ve read through it Sue and I have to applaud the effort that has been invested.

I could not agree more

We never seem to learn...the lessons are so painful.
It was clumsy wording, I meant in the U.S., but even that would be a stretch
I did make an adjustment to the header Kara, so thank you for your note.
Since his buddy over in the Middle East filled him in on how well that’s working for him.
I was going to say — when he saw how it was working in Gaza :(
Since the Republicans finally let their freak flags fly, courtesy of the POS DJT.
Hmm didn't the Nazis and Israel and now the US use it
Indeed they did, clumsy wording from me which I did adjust after the emails went out. Not my finest hour I will readily admit.

Republican Revenge Against America.
(PS: Why is KS Sen Jerry Moran not standing against this for Kansans???)
