Those in the Resistance need to be thinking beyond the midterms.
Most Americans disapprove of His Royal Heinous, but they are looking for an easy solution. One that will not require even a small sacrifice on their part, or any disruption to their life.
They are putting too much faith in what the midterms will do. The midterms may have a beneficial psychologic effect but in reality the outcome will have little or no practical effect, unless the Dems can get a 2/3 majority in the house and senate, which they won’t. They will not be able to undo anything His Royal Heinous has done, or pass new legislation, because of his veto power.
There will be investigations if the Dems take the House, but to what end. There will be no cooperation and HRH will pardon all perpetrators, and they know it.
They will impeach HRH, but we’ve seen that movie twice before. Convicted in the senate and removed from office? We can only hope, but hope is not a strategy.
He will continue to rule by “National Emergency“ and Executive Orders and almost surely the Supreme Court will allow it.
The greatest danger in all this is that it will appear that something beneficial is happening. The majority of people will believe the system is working. After about a year they will realize that nothing is changing. Then they will think, Oh well, he’ll be gone after the election next year.
Or will he? It took the Hungarians 16 years to get rid of Orban, and the Project 2025 people will certainly not make the same mistakes that Orban did.
The solution is mass non-cooperation and economic warfare.

Imagine winning back the government only to have to juggle impeachment, prosecutions and the crashing of an economy, and the Republican megaphone screaming " its not our fault! They're holding the potatoe." If it goes as bad as you predict, only the wealthy survive. Again.
Excellent, if terrifying, summary, Martin. Sadly, most people will be blissfully unaware of the impending crisis - just as those of us in the UK were, following the US sub-prime mortgage scandal in 2008, when our own banking system was just 24 hours away from collapse (but for the intervention by Alastair Darling).
The trouble is, it's the ill-informed and incurious dullards who keep voting for these amoral politicians (and, by association, their ultra-wealthy backers) choosing to believe their lies rather than doing the work of understanding what's really going on, i.e. that they are suffering not because of immigrants or people on benefits, but because the very charlatans they are voting for (MAGA and RefUK) are determined to vastly enrich themselves at the expense of the rest of us. I hope to God that this is a huge wake-up call for MAGA and that RefUK supporters finally see the writing on the wall, but it may already be too late for the global economy and they will take us all down with them (apart from the wealthy and powerful, of course, who will be stamping on the fingers of any ordinary mortal trying to get into their life-rafts).
“So how can we make a Trump implosion more likely? The public can help by doing what Target’s customers and Disney’s audience did — make it clear that they will stop paying money to institutions that lend aid and comfort to the authoritarian project.”
From Professor Erica Chenoweth:
“The third thing that successful movements do is they innovate new tactics. This is very important because movements that tend to over-rely on a single technique like protests, like demonstrating every Friday, something that becomes very routinized, end up succumbing much more quickly first of all to protester fatigue, but the second thing is they often subject their participants to a higher risk of repression or communal violence from opponents.
So movements that are capable of having the capacity to shift to methods of dispersion, like stay-at-homes or strikes or forms of economic noncooperation, tend to be much more effective because they have the capability of maneuver when the state begins to ramp up violence against them.”
Please: Resist. Stop cooperating. Stop spending. Stop the fascist takeover.

Once you hit black ice and the skid starts the only issue is whether you hit the wall, the tree, or the oncoming 18 wheeler. 🧊😱. Only the rich will have functioning airbags. 🤬
Thank you for stating this. To few people know or understand just how precarious the US economic position is. Japan, China, Germany, Saudi Arabia, et al, own so much of American $$ that if any one of them decides to sell; it would have significant impact on us. It's scary.
Actually Bill, the second largest holder of US Treasury Bonds, after Japan, is the UK (then China, Luxembourg, Canada, Belgium, France and Norway). I was joking last year that if the UK alone sold its holdings, the US economy would go belly up. The trouble with Trump is he thinks he can just bully US allies whilst forgetting that we have leverage too. History will remember him as the most dangerous and stupid POTUS by a long way.
Doom and gloom …. But very much the truth . This will land on the steps of the next administration to fix this gross mismanagement of our economy. If Dems win … they will bear the burden and the Republicans will shirk all responsibility. This war is pushing us into an unrecoverable financial crisis. And Trump has alienated the US on every single issue in the world…. So who is going to support the petroleum dollar ? No one . For all the MAGAs out there still applauding…. REMEMBER who put you in the bread lines. Being regretful and sorry is not going to feed your family. But maybe you can go to the gilded ballroom for some soup , the green reflection pond for a picnic ??
And still republicans sit on their hands and democrats are mute .
The market is finally waking up to the physical logistics convergence we’ve been calling. The two headlines pictured here, just days apart, are not a coincidence—they are the definition of our 'SPR Reckoning' macro thesis.
The U.S. is liquidating its strategic buffer at a historic rate (lowest since 1982), just as the Strait of Hormuz chokepoint is strangled by geopolitical uncertainty. One buffer is running on empty, and the other critical transit point is restricted. This intersection is the 'fallout' we predicted. We've moved beyond analysis.
That video was a great breakdown of debt/interest etc. Definitely the best way I have seen someone explain it for somewhat easy comprehension if you have some base knowledge. I heard a stat a few months ago that 12 percent of the US is employed by private equity. I meant to look it up but forgot. If true, that will be its own beast. I got a 3 day migraine when tarp passed; I was so mad I couldn't even talk to anyone for days and no kid my mom had to pick me up from work that day. I feel like I have ptsd from the last go round. We never learn.
Maybe if someone, besides the taxpayers, had to pay for the last need to bail out Senator Warren would not be the only voice of sanity in DC . They should have prosecuted then
Thank you for this unspeakable truth. I have been aware of these facts for some time now. I hope that this message finds some new minds so maybe we can vier from the iceberg we are (and have been for years) heading into. RED ALERT!
I'm convince that the Epstein class, having lined their pockets through fat tax cuts and pilfering of our prepaid safety nets, have no further use for us. They're actively seeking to see us die. Witness the food-borne illnesses, the outbreak of measles, the return to ecology-destroying fossil fuels, plans for deforestation, strangulation of wildfire protection, disappearing weather forecasts and alerts, etc.; in toto, the elimination of agencies and mechanisms intended to protect us from harm. Add to this the massive availability of guns. How do we think this will turn out, once our personal finances are gone; food and clean water are scarce; medications and medical services are too costly and unavailable to most; utilities are consumed by AI complexes? I am not hopeful, which is an obvious understatement.
So is the only cure a huge wealth tax? They should pay an equivalent tax as the rest of us. I hear people saying 5% or 10%, but us lower income workers pay at least 28%! That would realign the tax assets significantly if they paid even more than we do. Who NEEDS to have an income of billions of dollars annually? Nobody. Unless they use that savings to buy politicians who vote for more big beautiful tax breaks for them at the expense of We the People...I may be onto something there...

There does not seem to be an option to restack your comments. I'll restack the article.
Or under Replies. If I stay on Substack another 5 years, I may figure out how it works!
I think that can be done by going to my profile page under comments or activity. Thanks.
Great !!. I will do that now.

It is not just maga. Most democrats don’t have a clue about most things. We are here because of both red and blue.

More like robbing everyone to pay Dumpty and billionaire pals. It’s not economics or tax strategy. It’s a shakedown.

Our transition piece, 'From Analysis to Arbitrage,' didn’t just predict higher prices; it laid out the exact arbitrage play when the government runs out of physical options. https://triggledger.substack.com/p/from-analysis-to-arbitrage-how-we-8da?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=8gc1qf

Totally agree. About 10,000 prosecutions would have been in order.

This is looking increasingly like a deliberate strategy to crash the American economy in order for the 1% to secure absolute power.
Buckle up America because this is really going to hurt.
