You refer to the Democratic leadership. I don't think there is any. At least it's not visible from here. There are impressive candidates but the "leadership" is invisible.

I agree. Where is our leadership during this 5 alarm fire. Why isn't there a giant ZOOM call with every powerful Dem coming up with a concerted plan to protect us from this fascist regime??? Why? It seems like they all, with limited exceptions like Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Thaib, Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna (and to a lesser extent as he still supports too much of the Fat Orange Felon's agenda, Thomas Massie) are each working on their own individual campaigns.

Trickle Down Economics is all bullshit … because GREED is a stronger instinct than Generosity. Capitalism is based on greed …. 1987 Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas), who famously declares that "greed, for lack of a better word, is good".

And so for capitalism to work , we need ambition, innovation , and determination. Greed comes along for the ride . So to balance the equation…. Organized Labor ( which has largely been eradicated ) , scaled personal taxes without loopholes and write offs , and CORPORATE taxes are essential . I’m really tired of hearing Besos say “ they are picking on the wealthy “ when 70 % of his Amazon labor force needs food assistance. Same for Walmart and all the other big boys . The corporate welfare must end . A living wage must be put in our labor laws . What ever happened to retirement plans and pensions in the work force ? Greed . By first world nation standards our labor benefits are weak .

I try to avoid Walmart and Amazon like the plague and eliminate spending at the “mega” stores if I have a choice with a local business.

The Europeans did not wait for Hitler to die so that the good guys on the side of freedom could take over because Europe has existed for a long time and has endured many a war. Europe has known tyranny from barbarians and Kings alike. From the feudal system to its conquest of the new world.

Here in modern America, we have not experienced tyranny since some brave men declared this country independent from England. We have not experienced tyranny ourselves, though that doesn’t apply to the black people brought from Africa in chains, beaten into submission, massacred at times. And their descendants still carry the scars in some cases and the open wound in the majority of them. For them, tyranny hasn’t really stopped. Yet, some of them voted for this clown.

It is very easy to speak from the comfort of our home with a drink, a tablet, a Book by our side and food on the table. We are lucky that we can still communicate through this meamns, but for how long? America will have to touch bottom to understand what it really means to have to rely on one’s own inner and outer strength, on one’s creativity, on one’s wish to be free and to survive, on one’s desire to lead and be led by people who really care.

Unfortunately, what the United States does affects the globe because the globe became too dependent on us. What we said was law. Why we say right now is worse than bullshit, with all due respect to bullshit. We used to be a beacon but became more arrogant and complacent, too full of ourselves. Now we are disgraced, discredited, humiliated, distrusted, and the orange lowlife in the White House is still in power by the grace and acquiescence, and at the instigation of those who we elected to represent us plus the highest court in the judicial brunch.

From Truth Matters:

“The US is the largest consumer-based economy on the planet, and that makes it highly vulnerable to direct action that the government can’t control in any way. If you protest on the streets, they can send in the army to crush the protest. If you go on strike, they can encourage employers to fire you, but there is absolutely NOTHING they can do to make you press the ‘buy now’ or ‘order now’ button. They can’t intimidate you, fire tear gas or pepper balls at you. You are the one with the economic gun in your hand, and those delivering the tyranny are, despite what they may think, at your mercy. You quite literally hold ALL the cards.”

You have said this many times, and you are right, but the average bod is either too comfortable or too complacent to take any meaningful action, and now it's nearly too late to do so.

The bottom 50% are living hand to mouth anyway and wouldn't make any difference.

People totally don't get the asset thing. I can't really blame them. Unless you are around certain things, it would be a different world beyond normal comprehension. I think we need the lego dudes to explain taxation; somehow we need to

simplify this, like learning a foreign language.

How about invoking Rule 9 to force an impeachment vote on existing impeachment articles (don't need to be in the majority or have the lame-o "speaker" of the house bring it to the floor). The Dems should be doing that every day!

When Ronald Reagan got this ball rolling they called it 'trickle down economics' -- they said everyone would benefit.

It didn't take very long for us to realize that it was actually "trickle ON economics.'

Democratic leadership needs to unleash and support its progressive members. Leadership also needs to lead courageously with affordability and healthcare.... we've got to leave the middle of the road.

Interesting that you write about this. I developed a blueprint to bring truth into American politics. No ideology, just a system. Mechanical rather than ideological. The article is right here in my substack Fried (But Not Burnt)
