There is no way to sweeten the pill. The deafening silence of our governments until it was too late, will be forever a stain on what little reputation any of them have left
I know that hearing/reading information that is contradictory to common understanding creates cognitive dissonance. This is why it is so important to vary your sources of information. Thank you for a thoughtful and well researched article, even though it is hard to come to terms with
I understand, I invest significantly in diverse sources to enable an objective approach to the task in hand. I’m more than aware that some of these pieces may make for uncomfortable reading.
I’m equally mindful of the sensitive nature of what can be a contentious subject. That’s why I always provide clear attribution of important sources.
My aim it to attempt to provide a way to cut through the cognitive dissonance and provide a space where the reader can be assured that facts have been checked.
Not much of this well documented series surprised me as I’ve been following this occupation for years. I must say the cash to Hamas was stunning revelation. The arrogance of the Isr government has no bottom. Thx again.
The Israeli government has used indoctrination and propaganda to bring their Jewish citizens around the world into one belief system. That teaching is that Jews have a RIGHT to all the land in the Greater Israel plan . Especially the West Bank settlers - these Israeli transplants have demonized the Palestinians and original land inhabitants. This hatred and demonization is taught to every single young person - and they spew it freely to anyone who asks . It’s indoctrination at the expense of human rights . Zionists and their Zionist leaders have created this hatred and aggression . The Jewish people need to throw these leaders out of office and start over. The fish rots from the head down . And that is where we are today .
Israel is currently being its own enemy. If the Palestinian people survive these atrocities, I don't think future generations will look kindly towards Israel. I'm not advocating for violence at all, but this is how radicalism thrives. It is all so despicable and horrific.

I have for some time been advocating a Quiet General Strike, which is mass non-cooperation, coupled with a Spending Strike, where nothing but essentials are purchased. It’s possible that Americans are not prepared to go this far at this point, which brings in the Next Best Option: Targeted Boycotts.
In time, instituted properly, targeted boycotts could be successful. They have been in the past. The way they’ve been instituted recently has been counterproductive. Short lived boycotts that do not succeed look pathetic and only serve to show the participants and the general public that economic warfare does not work. It’s as if the fascist regime were behind these feeble attempts.
Harvard Professor Erica Chenoweth’s Pillar Strategy
“Erica Chenoweth’s research highlights that nonviolent movements succeed by inducing defections within an opponent's "pillars of support"—institutions upholding the regime, such as economic elites, business leaders, media, and security forces. Targeting these pillars with economic pressure (strikes, boycotts) weakens regime loyalty, forcing structural change. “
We, the People, can’t easily or safely withhold our tax dollars that are allowing this corrupt government to function. Our tax dollars fund the fascist takeover.
But as consumers we can indirectly withhold our tax dollars. Consumer spending is about 70% of the economy. That spending ends up as tax dollars. Stop unnecessary spending and most of the money funding the fascist takeover will disappear.
I have many reservations about targeted boycotts. Foremost is the time element. Targeted boycotts would take much longer to be effective than would a General Spending Strike. Time is of the essence. The longer the fascist takeover lasts, the more firmly it becomes entrenched and the more difficult and time consuming to stop and reverse.
Exceptional piece. I wish all Americans and individuals in countries that support Isr would read this series and understand, finally why the Palestinian ppl have suffered for so long. Hamas made a devastating choice to execute their plans — but who am I to tell an occupied ppl they can’t fight the oppression put upon them for generations while that oppressor funds/gifts an opportunity to plan the ultimate fight of their lives?? I cannot. I can’t judge from the comforts of my obnoxious and arrogant country’s funding of genocide
Why are the major news channels and papers in our country not informing us of this? Yet, the news of their protests in Europe are not being censored ? I am not siding with the Israeli government or our ongoing involvement in this horrific immoral crisis.
I think we've all had enough of being intimidated by Israel's weaponised and utterly dishonest allegations of antisemitism. We need to all stand proud beside our anti-Zionist Jewish brothers and end this bullsh*t narrative once and for all.
Please do send me the links to these protests, I’m struggling to find them. As is already noted as fact in the piece there are advocacy groups for Palestinian self determination.
Very true. We must stop supporting Israel. End the funding !

Capitalism is just imperialism colonialism and genocide for the profits of the top 1%
Thanks for the good writing. The US should have stopped funding Israel years ago

A Quiet General Strike is the Best Option.
Targeted Boycotts are the next best option. (3)

Shame on you !
This article is disgusting. Shame on you.
I fully understand that the truth can be uncomfortable, but facts are facts I’m afraid. Many of them sourced from within Israel.
You dislike the truth? Blame the US and Israeli governments, not the messenger
Disgusting? Do explain yourself when the facts are stacked and revealed for the fantasy many cling to
Maybe it’s shame on you
DISAGREE. EMPHATICALLY.
So you love genocide?

Let me begin by saying it’s not surprising that Israeli Jews overwhelmingly support the actions of the US military in Gaza (between 76% and 84%).
US Military in Gaza??? Did I miss something?
TRUE 💙💙💙💯💯
I agree with SUSAN Bitterman. Shame on you.
The mass protesting that is evendent in Israel is not being shown here. government is not allowing us to see it.
Please do send me the links to these protests, I’m struggling to find them. As is already noted as fact in the piece there are advocacy groups for Palestinian self determination.
What are these mass protests protesting.
