I thought I might begin the week with a fresh approach and please feel free to comment to let me know your feelings. As you all know, this is very new to me and I’m trying to find the right balance to produce posts and content that fits nicely into people’s consumption of information. What I don’t want to be is the email that pops up daily where a sigh goes up followed by a thought of ‘not another email from Truth Matters’. The last thing I want to be is an annoyance factor in your busy day.
While I appreciate that we are unfortunately slaves to the news cycle, so there will need to be posts created in the moment, it’s clearly an art to get the balance right. Now I’m settling in a little after a pretty full on six weeks since I started this journey of self discovery, I am thinking the balance lay between maybe 2 - 3 articles each week. I then want to introduce a Sunday magazine type article for paid subscribers to provide some value added content for the slowly increasing numbers of generous paid subscribers I am picking up along the way. In addition, I have now got everything setup to deliver a twice monthly podcast episode which will begin in May. As part of the preparation for launch, starting on 21st April, I’ll begin producing my own original video content and trying out a couple of Substack live events just so I can get familiar with the technical delivery elements in what I want to be a polished professional delivery.
These are challenging times and we are being hit with a constant stream of nonsense and deliberate distractions designed to keep us off balance. I want to create a space people can visit with confidence in the knowledge they can find the facts, NOT through an unbiased lense, but based on fairness and the truth. I want to create a blend of written articles and polished visual content that readers and viewers can consider as completely open source and feel free to use with my blessing in their own social media messaging etc.
The plan is to expand the visual content out to YouTube and to a new upcoming we portal called ‘The Political Antidote’ which I am creating. The website will be up and running by 21st April. This is part of my strategy for 2026. It’s about creating a trusted space where voters, advocacy organisation can visit to access resources to help fight for the preservation of democracy. The great news is, when you invest in my work here, you will have the added bonus of knowing you are investing in an ecosystem of resources for activists to use in what we know will be a long hard battle. Once politicalantidote.com is up and running, I’ll setup a mechanism for Truth Matters subscribers to cross post their work to the new site if that’s of interest to anyone. It gives us 18 months of lead time, to put together a world class set of resources.
Thank you for your time
Martin

My advice: Keep things heavy on the printed word & visualizations, not simply a portal to video content.
The discerning reader wants … to read, unsurprisingly!
In my opinion, a blend/balance of video and print content. I tend to migrate to reading an article after I have watched the video. Why? One will grab my attention, and the other requires that I read and fully understand the content.
