I concur totally, frankly I am tired of the Schumer's in the Democratic party, these re- thugs are no longer " esteemed colleagues" at this point in time.and trying to act " nice" isn't working with this complicit magnat Con -disgrace were have in charge presently. They are cowards, they should be the " power cords" to stop the bleeding of trams doings against our country, our rights and constitution, but sit there and do nothing...hell, they won't even face their own constituents while they continue to screw them. We need to refresh the Democratic party, that is for sure... I support the younger generation coming up for the Democrats and stop with the geriatric messages of those who play " nice"... it's a new world and order we need in this country now and in the future of the Democrats

Stop fucking blaming the Democratic Party for American’s overwhelming bigotry and stupidity. This IS who we are. The soul of America IS rotten to the core because it was built on the foundation of slavery and oppression and mass murder. We have never reconciled with our original sin. And until we address it and excise it from every part of our society and government and hearts - we deserve to be destroyed. Burnt to the ground. We are born innocent and accountable, and that makes us all guilty. Racism invades every American heart because it is in our National DNA. And until we purge that we’re never going to change. Yes dark money is a problem. Greed is always a problem. But the Republicans know that all they have to do to win is bring out the native racism that lies dormant, or patent, in every American.

So stop talking about messaging and money and talk about racism. All the time talk about racism. Don’t ever stop talking about that. Because every screed about the price of eggs or fentanyl coming through our borders or 🏳️‍⚧️folxs in bathrooms, is racial hatred.

Maybe a Brit just can’t see that. Most Americans can’t.

You disagree with my core premise that America was founded on and built by the evils of slavery? This is not a point on which reasonable people can disagree. It is an objective truth than America grew from soil whose roots are drenched in the blood of enslaved Africans. So I’m not sure what it is you’re disputing here. Unless you are one of those people who deny the obvious fact of 250 years of institutional and systemic racism because it makes you feel uncomfortable or whatever.

Of course fear is not endemic to Americans. But I’m an American and so I can only speak about Americans. This entire conversation is an American issue, because I am an American citizen and an American voter. I’m not really interested right now in the fear-based motivations of the French or the Japanese, for example, because I don’t live there, and I don’t vote there. And their particular issues are not affecting me right now.

And morality absolutely is legislated. 160 years ago we fought a big old war about whether morality could be legislated. Legislated morality is the reason why some murderers are acquitted because they acted in self-defense and why some murders committed by the state are completely legal.

As for the videos, I don’t have access to them because I’m not on any other social media. And they aren’t really helpful. I don’t need to see a bunch of self congratulatory white boomers talking about how we just need to be patient and keep on trucking and trust in the goodness of people’s hearts. Doing that is exactly what brought us to this point.

But thank you for wishing me well. Same to you.

Respectfully, I disagree with your core premise. I'm sure you have cause for your belief and offer an alternative view. Fear of the other is human, not American. You can't legislate morality. You can only lead by example. This video offers good examples of battles that can result in change and can be won. The rest will follow, slowly, as it has over the entire human history. The only chance we have is to believe in and call upon the good in all people. I wish you well.

Question: Is the current young and next generation of voters up to the task of repairing democracy in the United States of America and making it a “more perfect union”?

First, please get rid of that tiresome banging music throughout. Second, the problem is explained very well, I think everyone NOT in government would agree. Third, most of the statements are…if we could do this….if we just do that….if….if. Fourth, name a successful Country that does this, just name which country that we can study that this is how they govern? Fifth, You are changing the Constitution, but sad to say, corruption is in some human beings who want to rule others; and you can’t change that, no matter how you change the method. Oh, I am not discouraged in this system, but…….
