A reliable source for truth is definitely needed. All I hear on TV is the lies put out by the Trump regime. Today I heard one of his people say that this war has brought people together and there are people who are going to help us open the Gulf of Hormuz. I don’t think believe that is true. I hears that the Iranians are going to accept our proposal for a cease fire and they have given us a very wonderful gift. More lies! I will support you, Aaron & the Meiselas brothers!

“There is a long-held belief that Democratic messaging is not fit for purpose, and sadly, the Democratic establishment has done nothing to dispel that assumption.”

It’s lazy to assume that DC democrats aren’t properly messaging. What is the average Democrat, no VOTER doing to self-educate? I don’t rely on polls, debates or neighborhood gossip to KNOW democrats have the average voter best interests at heart; flaws notwithstanding. I subscribe to Substack and many news outlets for news. No CNN, MSNOW, Fox etc. Further, I am a democrat committee person that regularly attends meetings, discusses strategies to promote local Democrat candidates, donates and attends fund raisers. I’ve served as poll greeter, poll watcher, food runner for democrat poll workers and assisted in delivering poll results to the county seat for tabulation. I’m 74….you to can do this. Stop “blaming” DC democrats.

Phil,

I don’t think the Democrats have maximized the message they are trying / need to convey . Congratulations on your service to the democratic efforts and party business . It takes many many volunteers like you to get through these tough times. It’s admirable that when you should be retired and living life large , you are working your ass off for a good purpose . 👍🏼

I see the “messaging issue “ as democrats won’t get into the nastiness that MAGA and the far right have used with great success. Our current republican leadership has used LIES , misinformation, personal name calling , vulgarity , deceptive rhetoric etc etc etc to push their hateful agenda and bring out the worst of people . The vitriol has been fueled by the top …. 🍊rump . And Democrats took years … of soft hits to the republican bully behavior. No one would even say “ that’s an out and out LIE “ …. No we heard “ Un truth “ …. Un alive …. Misinformation…. Soft words to counter the mean tweets, bully behavior and straight out lies . Who has called Trump a thief/ espionage agent for stealing thousands of top secret documents and refusing to return them to the archives ? . Even today it is happening . Call Gaza a “second holocaust? “ Never would the Dems go there . Would they call Trump a pathetic draft dodging coward after he said our service men were suckers and losers ? No … no one hits back . Decorum and dignity have been the democrats posture … they stand on proper principles and dignity of office standards …. But the Republicans are in a machete fight …. And Dems are using a butter knife . So yes ….Dems have a reluctance to take on the ugliness of the Heritage foundation , the MAGA cult and the crude , lewd and rude POTUS . It’s time to get tough .

Thanks for your valuable contribution to the conversation Phil, I echo the thanks expressed in the other reply to your comment. I think we are at a disconnect possibly on the issue of the rules of engagement

Elections are no longer carried out under Queensbury rules I’m afraid. I think I made clear I have great admiration for a number of very proficient Democratic political writers. This is about distribution in a fast moving messaging environment where Trump has the owners of those platforms in his pocket.

In reality there is no better campaigning than on the doorstep pressing flesh, but alas that ship has sailed to a large extent.

Again, thank you for everything you do, you set the gold standard. - Martin
