I spent five weeks out of country commemorating the two year anniversary of my mother’s parting among other things. During that time, I read every post you shared in as much as I could.
I came back to this hellhole because I know I have a civic duty in November. One vote is never enough, but it could make a difference in the final count. I intend to vote in November as it’s my right and my duty. I could not stay away and have a free conscience after that.
It saddens me deeply that politicians will be politicians and they will continue to put their own interests first. I see very few leaders and candidates who actually mean what they are spewing at meetings, on television and through the social networks. Yet, that’s the hope America has. People like Talarico, like Mamdani, like Abdul el-Sayed, like Governor Pritzker, like the very brave gentleman of Georgia, ossoff; all Democrats and either progressive or with progressive tendencies.
As for the Republicans,! Those people who now want to distance themselves from what they themselves sponsored and supported are too late. They are cowards, greedy bastards who only care about themselves. I do have to say the same for those corporate Democrats who want to keep their seats at the expense of the voters who are hanging from a thread when it comes to their housing, their healthcare and their ability to pay their obligations; at the expense of students who can’t afford to go to school, at the expense of the elderly who have contributed and our asking how they’re going to live during their retirement and their last days on this earth.
I am not voting Republican or democrat this time around. I am voting against Trump, his corruption, his family, his thugs, this administration, his dream of keeping America under his toe. I am voting for reconstruction, recovery, patience, understanding, strength of character, in short, I am voting for courage and for the people who can stand on their convictions and on the truth to make this country surface from the whole where Donald Trump has plunged it. I am voting for education; for people to learn to live with our history and truly take advantage of that learning process. For freedom of speech, for a free press, for freedom of religion, for reform in every sense of the word and in every social and political instance where it’s needed. I’m voting for reform in our immigration system, in the judiciary system, even in the legislative system.
Is my vote ambitious and to tall an order? No. It’s the vote we should all cast if we want this country to get back on its proverbial feet to put it in some descriptive semblance; a country where people will want to come again; a country of compassionate, humane, courageous, civic, creative, productive people.
We have too many spoiled brats that we have contributed to this country’s poor health. Youths and seniors alike who whine for anything and everything they can find to whine about. We need to return to racing courageous, compassionate, productive citizens who will be able to lead the country out of crises such as the one we are undergoing.
Will that be possible ever again? It depends on us and us only.
Do I enjoy and listen to your English voice of reason? I definitely do because you speak my mind, though as I have said before, in a much more eloquent manner; because you show that you really care for the future of humanity.
“ It’s time to stop with the nonsense and wake up to the reality that politicians don’t govern America; special interests do. The truth can be uncomfortable sometimes; that’s for sure, but if people keep asking, ‘Are we there yet, Dad,’ about whether America is in a constitutional crisis, I fear they may be beyond help. America was plunged into constitutional crisis on the day when millions of Americans chose to elect a convicted felon to represent their best interests.”
I had to reiterate your words of wisdom . Special interests … aka AIPAC , billionaire donors, mergers and acquisition…. We need to acknowledge that money is the means to get your ideas into laws . We are no longer a nation “for the people by the people . “ So …. Are we a democracy? The process of “making policy “ has totally been corrupted .
The SCOTUS has been compromised, the DOJ has been compromised, the oath of office for any position has lost
its meaning and its value . Democracy requires a foundation of truth . “ We hold these truths to be self evident “ . Democracy requires “ one nation under God , indivisible with liberty and justice for all “ . Democracy requires that men who are elected to lead have honor , dignity, respect , integrity, intelligence and commitment to the oath of office.
So …. We can only ask this simple question…. Have we the people elected that caliber of leadership?
On a happier note , I’m thrilled you are about to launch , I look forward to your resources and your continued dedication to truth on both sides of the pond . Your voice is important and you can be proud that you have made great sacrifice for a very noble cause . Truth matters …. It is the fundamental building block for everything that matters.
I’m a little unclear… are you asking for paid support for your new initiatives or is a single subscription sufficient?
Secondly, I’m fairly computer literate but not a whizz (I’ve got 10 years on you) and I’m a little concerned that I’ll be able to follow all your new and separate initiatives. Will you make it easy for us to keep track?!
I’m in Australia btw and VERY interested in what’s happening in the US and also the UK. Well everywhere really!
Thank you for your comment and I really do appreciate your support.
For the sake of clarification, I use subscription revenue to help support all the work I do here. I think the lack of clarity comes from being uncomfortable asking for money.
I see revenue from here either from paid subscribers and from those clicking on the buy me a drink button at the bottom of my posts, as just one revenue pool because it’s for a single purpose.
I can absolutely assure your that the two pieces work hand in hand with each other. As you will see in my post to drop later in the day it’s important that my advocacy work operates separately from a primary data repository, simply because the repository must NOT reflect my political views. It must remain an apolitical data resource.
Truth Matters is a different matter. That is where I advocate for my political views. It has access to the Matter of Record site for records of fact, but then it can use those facts to build a political position. That does not exist as a two way connection. The Matter of Record is blocked from any activity on Truth Matters by design.
Anyone wishing to donate can either become a paid subscriber or alternatively they can use the buy me a drink button to make one off donations as and when. That’s how it’s designed to work.
Once you start using it, I doubt you’ll struggle at all, but if you do I can always arrange a zoom session or a call to discuss and help you.
I wasn’t aware that was the case Rhonda, I do receive payments in GBP from some subscribers. Let me look into it and come back to you. Thanks for making me aware.
🦋🌿 I wish you well on this heartfelt journey to exploring today’s realities.
— the video & lyrics were excellent.
“… we should never let perfection be the enemy of good.”
… so true, but I can’t help but feel that with the Dems you & others DO do that .. I never see any stats or logic to the critiques that “they aren’t doing enough”.
… Every day I read of various Dems fighting the good fight — the latest being 2 Dems on some military committee investigating the US military death count being under-reported by Hegseth, and forcing him to give accurate stats … which he DID, under pressure … cowardly, on a Friday, when as usual republicans quietly as possible, drop their admissions of ‘inconvenient truths’, knowing that the weekend is not prime time for politics … kids, recreation, sleeping in, chores etc taking precedence.
I rarely see discussion of the fact that the voting public didn’t give Dems enough support in the last election in order for them to be more effective vs Trumpism — or that racism & misogyny were a large part of the ‘sofa sitting’ lot that couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a far better candidate - intellectually, morally, experientially & educationally. Also no mention of Musk’s money helping to buy the presidency, ditto ongoing Putin support that Trump continues to * obviously * reward.
(See Dean Blundell’s substack today : “Trump never asked Russia to stop killing civilians. He asked Ukraine to stop hitting the one thing keeping Putin’s war alive.” (Oil based economy & currently Trump’s Achille’s heel.)
I look forward to you actually doing what you speak about doing, ‘Bon Voyage’! 🕊️

This is my first time reading your writings. Thanks for such great insights and educating me on what issues face us and how we can make a difference.
You are most welcome Sunita - Martin

Both you and I live in the UK but Stripe is setup only to accept US$...... Means both you and I lose out.. Can this be amended free of charge?
