It still boggles my mind that these Captains of Industry, Kings and Kingmakers couldn’t see that hobnobbing w Epstein was at the head of a path to total blackmail. How do such smart guys let the wrong head do their thinking for them? Did they believe this would all just be kept secret forever? 🤦

These people live in a bubble. ALL of them. There is no awareness of anything outside said bubble.

An important factor into all the damages in the world … happening for decades … It is exhausting … no excuse, “where was the integrity, ethics, morals …law enforcement swears under oath”.

Belief in these young girls statements was constantly denied … Does anyone realize the pressure/difficulty for a young child to explain in depth that they were intimately violated … especially to a male police officer… and made to repeat every time someone grew a conscience to listen. No respect given within their own community..

Now add Trump’s administration’s and Trump himself are verbally disrespectful and dismissive … on top of what they have already been through.

BELIEVE in the power of FACTS AND TRUTH …

BELIEVE the Girls … BELIEVE the Women….

‼️Release the Entire Epstein Files‼️

Thank you for your important contribution to the conversation.

Simple, and maybe meaningless to some, but the statement that you wrote [ after you had addressed the fall of Lehman Brothers and so on] which reads "how does this relate back to the Epstein's files?, I hear you ask." became the most thrilling point of the saga: Yes! You're right. I felt like me being in a Regal Cinemas cozy seat watching a dramatic film and suddenly I was presented with the "to be continued" message on the large screen. But no, I kept scrolling down reading the rest. Keep up the good work, Martin!

Bravo, Martin!

You’ve probably already picked up on this, but I suspect there is an important strand here that is often overlooked. It’s (Robert) Maxwell’s destruction of the academic publication system.

That project MIGHT simply have been driven by pure greed, but its outcome has been to very, very seriously damage research. As a result education has suffered as well (for example, students and even many academics now think a “subject review” means typing terms into one of the search engines sponsored by T&F and Elsevier etc). Given what we know of the autocrats’ wish for a poorly educated population, I can’t help feeling that deeper intentions may have fed into the calculations… including the desire to muzzle ‘inconvenient’ science - especially climate science?

What a horrible sticky web it is we have been caught up in, to be sure! Thank you so much for your work disentangling it.

Stay tuned on Robert Maxwell

Thank you for concentrating on the politics and finances of the Epstein cabal. I think that’s more likely to lead to the predators.

Mandelson has always been a disappointment. Politically savvy but flawed personality I think. Easily flattered and desirous of being a ‘main man’.

Truth Matters's avatar

You are spot on, a wasted talent brought down by an over inflated self worth Sheila. - Martin

ABossy's avatar

I agree. There's something about the porno-pedo side that makes men (not women) avoid going there. Follow the money. That's where I believe they might be caught 🙏

Does Trump own a yacht? I suppose it’s too much to hope he’ll fall off it like Maxwell

Wealth is power , access and control.

Epstein was a perv pedo and found his groupies that were twisted and morally deceased …. But for certain he utilized these party boys to exchange information, contacts and blackmail…. Pedophile island had cameras everywhere… Epstein was weaving a web like a black widow spider … it worked .

I don’t understand why the Dems seem to be void of a strong path forward and a common message….Except to say the messaging is being drowned out by the daily barrage of 🍊rumps outrageous behavior. There is so much noise , AI crap of gorilla pics , death , violations of constitutional law that the media is a blur of headlines. That’s what Trump wants …. Outrage overload . People are just so desperate for sanity that they tune out … it is overwhelming and physically exhausting . The frenzy

🍊rump creates is toxic overdose. I only hope that Schumer retires to allow a younger generation of leaders step up . Young blood is the only source for new policy and leadership. Waiting for the next election is just stupid …we watch as the country is bleeding out and they will apply a tourniquet in a few months ???

The Dems need to break down the Republican glue …. Chip away at the edges and get the sane republicans ( ???? 😳) to join the Dems to stop this madness. Still thinking after the gorilla show that section 25 might be a viable option.

Are there any honorable , ethical, patriotic Republicans left in the US ? What a stupid question ….

Truth Matters's avatar

We swim forever in circles unless we break from the misdirection. This is about power and money, of that there is no question. The problem is the players are so big it’s a big challenge to find the mistakes they made.

Bonnie Godinez's avatar

The players are big … for sure . And they often throw a stone and hide their hand …. As none of them want to be seen as barbarous or corrupt or even as politically incorrect.

But I think in the instance of 🍊rump …. He’s not hiding his lies or greed or corruption… it is easy to find it … it’s all right in the spotlight . He actually projects his own crimes to us before it happens . But those that have the power to address the crime are too weak and too scared to act against his crimes . It’s the old “ I could shoot someone on 5th avenue “ …. And so far he’s been right . The lack of integrity, courage and character has been the biggest problem ( in my humble opinion ) . I want to smack them all upside the head with the Bible on which the took the oath …. To uphold the Constitution. The OATH of office.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God. “

Sadly it is only a ritual of empty words repeated by empty men .

Will the Democrats ever wake up?

The Peaceful Solution-Plan B's avatar

From Encyclopedia Britannica

“The Progressive movement was a political and social-reform movement that brought major changes to the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, known as the Progressive Era, the movement’s goals involved strengthening the national government and addressing people’s economic, social, and political demands. Progressives saw elements of American society that they wished to reform, especially ending the extreme concentration of wealth among the elite and the enormous economic and political power of big business.”

From The Peaceful Solution:

The political right wing has been working to undo these reforms for over 100 years and now they’ve succeeded. It could take many years to restore our democracy, unless the citizens awaken quickly and take the peaceful actions of non cooperation, and economic disengagement.

How much do you want to stop His Royal Heinous and the fascist takeover of the country?

Enough that you’re willing to make a small sacrifice? Like altering your spending habits for a month or two or three? That could be all it would take to get the attention of the oligarchs (formerly known as The Robber Barons in the first Gilded Age, also The Fat Cats, The Greedy Bastards).

A brief demonstration of We, the People’s, power of the purse could persuade them to quit supporting HRH and the politicians who enable him.

We quit spending, except on essentials, businesses lose money, stock market goes down, Greedy Bastards pay attention to our demands.

That will never happen. The Epstein Files are and will continue to be held at bay, probably destroyed by now, and the 1,000,000+ pages supposedly released had Trump’s name all over it- and then it was recaptured by the DOJ. He’s never going down for any of his multitude of crimes. It’s pure insanity and total corruption and contempt of value.

Not entirely destroyed. The Oversight Committee has seen the unredacted and likely has copies.

Thank you, Martin, for connecting some of the dots. The banking industry is supranational in many ways, and so are the operators. That's why some of us are pressing for investigations into J. P. Morgan, but maybe there are others as well.

The oligarchs are everywhere, and acknowledge no boundaries in their influence. I have no doubt that Russia is a major player and so is Israel. I lived through the so-called "Cold War," and was thinking the other day that maybe it never ended? We have every bit as much to fear from just the Russian oligarchs as we did the Communist regime. Same house, different residents, but just as dangerous in their subterfuge.

And of course now we must suffer a cooperative regime here. As they say in the movies, "They walk among us."

Truth Matters's avatar

This is huge, there’s no question of that but their tracks are so well hidden.

You might also want to look into Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's sudden retirement. I'd start with Deutchebank's employment of Kennedy's son Justin and Justin's ties to Trump.

Thank-you for reporting on the financial side of this disgusting fiasco. I too have been following the money-trail through a couple of excellent journalists over the last year. I completely agree with your assessment of how gutless the Democrats have been, but I would perhaps mention D-Oregon senator Ron Wyden as an exception. While examining reams of suspicious financial transactions involving Epstein he says: "And because you can't take that stuff [Treasury department documents] out of the room I asked, particularly if the republicans would be willing to join me in a subpoena that would get the rest of the information that was crucial, and they wouldn't do that" Wyden said, "And that was during the Biden years."

These are now a new system of hurting us all and corrupting quickly endangering further the laws and politics of a democracy once hailed as honest and true yet who knew such dishonesty and harmful powerful people where dealing with women and children as commodities - how did we get here and can reverse engineer a way out?
