I respectfully disagree. To blame the Dems for everything is wrong. We lost not only because of gerrrymandering by republicans for years, voter supression for years, disinformation & propaganda by the gop, & Putin hackers & others for yrs. 200 Bomb threats to polling places. Also the complacency by the gop who let trump slide from conviction of his crimes. The insane amount of money that not only Elon put in, & others. But I’m going to go out on a limb & say they deliberately manipulated votes in their favor. They didn’t win by a landslide. Just enough to put them over the top. They have the smallest majority in history of the congress & senate. So i dont see this as we totally screwed up. No thats just wrong. The numbers dont add up. Dems had the numbers in their favor before the election. 75,000 people at Kamala’s last rally. Unprecedented. No, they cheated! It will come out!

I respect your position, but alas the result is the same. You can only play with the cards you are dealt, within the system your politicians created over the decades.

I have little doubt Dems would have prevailed, had they not left it until 100 days out to change horses. That is a fundamental failure for which the American people paid the price.Dice and slice it as you will, there are no prizes for coming second. In this case you get a monarch.

It’s totally irrelevant. In this environment it would be impossible to re-litigate. MAGA would love us to waste time on that.

I want the American people to know it, not that we would necessarily do something about it at this point - that ship has sailed. But slowly everyday maga are becoming very angry and regretful with their vote, at the deception. Because we the people are gonna end up having to rise.

I agree with you as I have seen from several reliable sources comparison of PA votes that proved Elon changed the votes. He's in an interview with Fox talking about it joking "if Trump loses how many years of jail time do you think I'll get?"

Also Trump taking at a rally that "people will never have to view again. Elon is a wizard with computers"

Why is none of this looked at???

No, I don't believe the Dems lost. Elongated stole the election and the Dems as well as the government failed to react timely and now it's too late.

This only a partial truth. Democrats have a tendency to live in their bubble and not listen to the needs of all Americans, true. But, they did not hand the elections to Trump. There is a huge problem with misinformation propaganda. There is absolutely no reason for Americans to hate each other so much. MAGAS will literally burn the country to the ground, destroy democracy, and lick Putin’s boot just to make libs suffer. The hatred is out of control. Democrats offered a path to unity and 77 million Americans rejected it.

I also disagree in regards to some of your analysis. Yes we needed new, talented people to take the reins but we lost for the same reason many governments have lost their elections, the protest vote over inflation has been the overriding issue. And we handled the illegal immigration badly, and when people are hurting in their pocketbook yet $millions of taxpayers money is being spent on student loans, overseas wars and assisting illegal immigrants, you lose support. People change their vote out of protest or stay home and not vote, others for whatever reason believed Trump’s lies. If those who didn’t vote had voted for the Democrats we would have won! It was that close !

They couldn’t figure it out before the election. How are all the lack-a-daisy idiots going to ever see what is right in front of them. It took the loss of their gravy-boat Federal positions did my niece and nephew wake up. They still won’t admit they fuck’d up and we all are paying for their pure, blinded, ignorance.

Natasha Young's avatar

I don't believe democrats failed as much as I believe republicans lied their asses of at every turn. And billionaire murdoch (fox) spread those lies with stone, bannon, trump... You are blaning the rape victim. They used millions of their dollars to propagate this over and over again.

Truth Matters's avatar

Welcome to politics in the new Trump era. There are no rules of engagement, so expect to get handed your ass if you turn up to a gunfight with a flat white.

It’s unfortunate you frame the Democrats as a rape victim. They were outsmarted by an adversary that sold lies. In the world of social media lies hate and fear sell better than truth and hope unless we can find a better way to package it. I’m still thinking on that.

Natasha Young's avatar

Oh I don't see democrats as a rape victim. I'm saying: you do not blame the rape victim for the crime. It was the republicans that were doing all the wrong- the perp

I just thought you were a little... coarse with the democrats.

We have to just pick a different strategy now.

Did you see that article, well I restacked it, by stay slick, wholly shit - I need others to chime in on this, we all may be a little "slow on the take", let me know what you think, I need 10 opinions😵‍💫

tRump told us for months that we would be overthrown. Democrats should have taken him seriously. I did and I'm just an everyday citizen. He told us again at his rally at MSG and accessory Johnson just grinned. Jan 19 trump confessed we were overthrown. President Biden should have stopped his coronation as a presidential act. He didn't. We're here because democrats failed to act and believed the simple act of voting was the answer. Not when you're up against the criminal party. tRump was going to do anything and everything to stay out of prison and he did.

Natasha Young's avatar

We did take him seriously!!!! Something you may not be aware of is that a Militia extreme maga group were threatening with thousands of guns in Georgia, "If WE don't get our President, there will be bloodshed in the streets." President Biden, I'm sure, was informed of this as a domestic terrorist threat. And I could see Biden saying, the people will have to work it out, trump will be exposed soon enough.

“These four-star appointments, these three-star appointments have to be confirmed by the Senate. And I urge the Senate—and I urge you listeners, followers, and readers—to contact your senators and tell them that you do not want a simple up-and-down vote. You don't want a voice vote on these individuals. You want each one of these individuals to be screened for their qualifications, for their fidelity to the Constitution, and to ensure that they will do their jobs and serve their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

The Trump administration’s 2025 budget proposal presents a series of policy changes poised to adversely affect average Americans while disproportionately benefiting multinational corporations, CEOs, the wealthiest 1%, and GOP donors. This budget reflects a significant shift in economic priorities, favouring the affluent and undermining support systems for the broader populace.

Tax Cuts Favoring the Wealthy

Central to the budget are extensive tax reductions aimed at corporations and high-income individuals. These cuts are projected to widen the income disparity, granting substantial financial relief to the affluent while offering minimal benefits to middle and lower-income families. The reduction in corporate tax rates is anticipated to bolster profits for large enterprises, enriching CEOs and shareholders, many of whom are significant GOP donors.

Medicaid Reductions Impacting Vulnerable Populations

The budget proposes significant cuts to Medicaid, the federal program providing health insurance to low-income Americans. These reductions could lead to millions losing access to essential healthcare services, disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable populations. While some GOP members advocate for work requirements over spending cuts, the internal party conflict underscores a willingness to compromise public health to fund other priorities, such as tax cuts and border security.

Erosion of Labour Union Rights

In alignment with Project 2025, the administration seeks to undermine public-sector unions by prohibiting the use of federal funds for their operations. This move aims to weaken collective bargaining rights, diminishing the ability of workers to negotiate for better wages and working conditions. Such actions not only suppress workers’ rights but also serve to consolidate power among employers and corporate interests.

Tariffs and Trade Policies Affecting Consumers

The reintroduction of tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico is intended to address trade imbalances and other geopolitical concerns. However, these tariffs are likely to lead to increased prices for consumers, as businesses pass on the additional costs. The resultant economic strain could disproportionately impact middle and lower-income households, further exacerbating economic inequality.

Reduction in IRS Workforce Benefiting Wealthy Tax Evaders

The initiative to cut 6,000 jobs at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is poised to hinder the agency’s ability to effectively collect taxes. This reduction could result in significant losses of revenue, estimated at $603 billion in uncollected taxes, primarily benefiting wealthy individuals and corporations adept at exploiting tax loopholes. Consequently, compliant taxpayers may bear the burden of this shortfall, undermining the fairness of the tax system.

In summary, the 2025 budget proposal appears to prioritize the interests of the affluent and corporate entities, including GOP donors, at the expense of regular Americans. The combination of tax cuts for the wealthy, reductions in social programs, erosion of labour rights, and policies favouring corporate interests suggests a governance approach that could exacerbate economic disparities and undermine the welfare of the general populace.

Thank you for your comment Jennifer. I never expect everyone to agree with me. Indeed, I would defend anyone’s right to present a rebuttal. I’m flattered you felt I was intelligent when writing something you agreed with. I have produced over 200 social media Ads in support of the Biden administration a number of which went viral. I have sat in on zoom sessions with Dem messaging shops and seen messaging focus tested to within an inch of its life.

My opinion piece was not based on retrospective thinking. I said it privately over and over when Biden decided to run again. I stood behind the campaign unwaveringly. I never expressed my views publicly until after the election.

I don’t share my views in search of likes or clicks. I simply write what I feel knowing I can always stand behind every post.

I think maybe I need to do a followup post to give further insight into my thinking. Again, thank you for your thoughts.

💯 I do think we have good leadership but we're not forceful. Our hearts in the right place, but we are not bullies, Ultimately we will have to fight fire to get anything done
