I share your despair. One of the hindrances to full on protests daily in this country is the link between health insurance and employment. I don’t know how we get the critical mass necessary to overthrow this regime.
It’s all so true. Lies and scapegoating invented for distraction. We are watching a play about politics enacted by elementary school improvisational players. The story is what runs off the main character’s tongue when the spotlight reveals his shortcomings.
What can make the menace and tragedy of ICE go away? The masked bullies ripping apart families in our communities, leaving helpless children without parents, and innocent hardworking folks jailed because of their skin color. What can be done?
How can we at least get their masks off? How can this even be real?
The tariffs are hurting every American family. And every American importer, and exporter. Supposedly illegal, what does that even mean anymore?
What can we even do?
The list goes on. Each a distraction for another gob- smacking incident. All too consuming in their own right….God as elementary as they are- these people are good at this.

My thinking is, those who blame others of underhanded, nefarious deeds are concocting the story on the possibility based on their imagination and experience. They have no shame in lying.
If a person doesn’t see, know about, or experience such bad behavior, that behavior is less imaginable, inconceivable. They are less able to create a wild story to frame someone.
In my naivety, I approach the capabilities of human behavior from my worldview. Unless I know of the wrong someone else has done, I don’t think to create a tale of horrible deeds.
And 2. STOP BUYING THINGS! Do not shop at Amazon or Target or Walmart or ANY company with a rich AF CEO. Do not consume foods from billionaire corporations. STOP BUYING ANYTHING MADE OR OWNED NY BILLIONAIRES. Only purchase food and necessities from locally owned stores. Gasoline for cars may be an evil necessity, unfortunately, but everything else can be cut way, way back. Stop giving the rich YOUR hard earned money.
The economic protest you mention is really of interest as I think it can have a great impact if it is deployed effectively. I am far from an organizer, but I would love to see the protests I attend turn to encouraging a consumer protest. We need to pick an easy one first--cancel Netflix for a month. When that gets impressive in number, move to no Amazon purchases for a month. Keep stepping it up, but a lot of solidarity is needed. Move On, Indivisible, 50501 and a dozen other organizations need to create a united front for these (in)activities.

I have to admit that calling on the opposition to seek medical attention from mental health professionals is probably very appropriate at this moment because we have already witnessed 6 MONTHS of outrageous shenanigans from the incumbent government and the people of this country carry on as though it’s just another slow news day. 🙄🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

1. Change their federal tax status to “Exempt” and immediately stop the blood flow of money to this regime.
