There are 28 million Venezuelans, they aren’t going to capitulate to whatever puppet government Trump imagines he can set up just because Marco Rubio says they are liberators, not invaders. Building infrastructure gives ownership? What a crock. Little old lady in New Jersey saved her house from imminent domain when tRump was building casinos. He knows better. Pig farmer in Scotland saved his farm front tRump when he developed a golf course. That pedo is bonkers.
The United States is a resilient resilient and we have overcome other serious problems before. I still have hope that we will again. The damage done this year is much greater than I expected. We are digging ourselves into a deep hole. Nonetheless I think the hole that Trump is digging will eventually become his own grave. Each new calamity adds to the challenges we will face once this nightmare is over. I keep thinking that surely we must have gotten to the tipping point where congress rises up and finally says "No More!". Perhaps this will be it. I belive it hope lies out pressing forward especially when it begins to feel helpless. VOTE. Get people to vote. Write your members in the legislature. Be persistent. Join with like minded people to support each other. Resist!
Such a good appraisal, but elections are too far off to wait for them. I keep looking for what we the people can do now to change the course we are on, where 'Change or die' could be our rallying cry.
Before the elections we can still do things. Cancel Amazon, WAPO and others. Let them know why. Support companies that support democracy and oppose the current regime. Go to protest rallies. I hope things change before the midterms. But they might not. We need to be ready to get out the vote when they do. We need to be a powerful voice to make sure that they do occur.
Candidly I am also very discouraged. But we need to do our best to press on even when we are at a low point. I believe this is a perilous time. The press has largely surrendered. Congress has yielded its power. The Supreme Court seems to have been corrupted. All those things make this time much different than Watergate. So the power for change has to be from the people. Trump only got about 1/3 of eligible voters. That means we do have the power.

I might be considered a leech as I see everything you write echos my thoughts, especially “a turd rolled in glitter.” The imperialism he proposes is so repulsive, 10-year-old bullyish, ignorant & heartless I compare it to an ongoing nightmare from which I cannot awaken. How many times must he cross the line into incompetence & cruelty before we get our Constitution & our America back? And how can we fight those who are destroying it? Ah just another international overstep … the UN has a purpose - enforce international order , country sovereignty and prevent aggressive nations from over running smaller nations . The condemnation spoken by our allies needs to be repeated over and over . Our world order is under a direct attack . And this only emboldens Trunk 🍊to be more aggressive. Is our congress going to declare this invasion illegal ??! Or just wallow in debate … with no putative action ? Venezuelans living in Miami are thrilled 😁 … but not many plan to pack up and return home . In general, as in the specific, traffic cases described in this post, Trump displays no capacity to see ahead to the consequences of his actions.
But the danger is in that the authors of Project 2025 did see ahead ... to grift that will last decades.
