I can't stress enough, that this article is the most well written piece and most important piece written about this horrendous attack on our democracy. Thank you Martin.
What horrendous attack are you referring to? District court judges unconstitutionally usurping executive powers? Unelected bureaucrats diluting your benefits, vote and rights? I’m uncertain about your point.
A solid piece. I remain optimistic about the world, however. Where there is negative change there comes positive eventually, at least for a time.
As well as protesting, this is the time to think and to plan, and to be ready for the opportunity for change. When change comes it is likely to be swift. In which sort of society do we all want to live? How do we balance social aspiration and upwards mobility with the more negative effects of money? What can we learn from neoliberalism, and what has failed? How do we cater for the full range of political views to try to mitigate future fascist episodes? How do we adapt as AI becomes more dominant in the world, and what is acceptable source data for AI? What is the future for foreign policy and globalisation?
In this sense I think the conversation is wider than Democrats vs GOP. Certainly it touches many countries around the world; it's not exclusively American.
Well, I agree with you. But I do have some right-leaning friends who think that it’s uncommercial to think the way I do, that it’s not “logical”. Logic is also a matter of perspective ofc.
I appreciate the thoroughness of your articles, and find myself seeking them out so often that I plan to upgrade to paid at my next paycheck! Thank you Martin! Your work is outstanding!
This can't be stressed enough: "This is not some random bad actor looking to cause disruption, this is an organisation specifically incorporated to systematically dismantle government and reimagine American society in their image. The truly terrifying thing is, we are only in the foothills of this Frankenstein horror story."

You are most welcome Susie and THANK YOU for your support.
I could engage with the fellow commenter on here, but I simply haven’t got the energy to debate the constitution right now 🤣

A very insightful contribution my friend. I do agree that this should not be about GOP or Dems, we’ve gone way beyond that.
My primary concern is that of ignorance of the facts and that will remain the biggest challenge moving forward.
I suppose, philosophically-speaking, 'truth' has always been somewhat subjective. The future of this ties into my point about AI.
I agree with you.
It’s not R vs D (as you stated above) but morality, integrity, and compassion vs hatred, evil, and greed.

Straight Fascism. We are definitely in a coup. This article is brilliant.
Thank you Susie, we are clearly living in very dangerous times.

That’s very kind Manda, thank you for your support, I appreciate it.
