On April 18th 1930 (Good Friday), the BBC evening radio news bulletin at 8.45 pm declared, "There is no news." It then played piano music for the remaining 15 minutes of the broadcast. How times have changed. Or have they? If the news broadcasts by legacy media are simply state propaganda, perhaps they should also play music instead? At least we could tap our feet instead of screaming at the radio or TV.
It’s not lost on me that this is a sweeping generalisation, because the truth is not entirely a desert; there are some green patches of truth that exist. The point is, these are shrinking by the day as the regime narrative seeks to bury the facts, attempting to bury every oasis of truth under a mountain of lies. Critical thinking has never been easy, but when the truth becomes a treasure hunt, I would suggest time is running out.
It is difficult to articulate the cumulative effects of the many important developments I try to bring to your attention. Things happen so quickly that it’s hard to take stock of the sheer scale of the lunacy. It’s in moments like this that I turn to a man who has the unique talent of using expletives coated in his sublime ability to articulate what I’m thinking. He’s a master exponent of using humour to educate in his own unique way. I present to you Mr Jonathan Pie.
From the outset, figures such as Russell Vought, Stephen Miller, and Peter Thiel have sought to systematically dismantle the engine of government in pursuit of unchallenged power and to make America the headquarters for a global conquest network. Many people say that Trump is not the real threat; it’s those pulling the strings of their useful idiot that are the true danger. While I accept the premise of this argument, the point everyone is missing is that this would not have happened without Trump as the frontman. It’s his ability to deceive his audience that has been the key to unlocking this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the oligarchs.
Society is being undone by one man who has done one simple thing: normalise the lie. His lies have become like a wall clock; after a while, your brain doesn’t hear it ticking, it just assumes that it is. There seems to be little to be gained from checking the clock, so we get on with our day. It’s not until the clock stops that we sit up and take notice, and that is where we are in this moment.
There were glimmers of hope that the fever was breaking as Congress stepped up to end further military action in Venezuela. However, the Senate mopped the fevered brow of the House and blocked it using the Vice President's casting vote. The next stress test will come at the expiration of the continuing resolution funding the government until January 30th. Nine of the twelve funding bills remain just a couple of weeks from the deadline. The key element is funding for Homeland Security. I may be wrong, but my gut tells me that, despite everything happening on the streets of Minnesota, Democratic leadership does not seem to have the appetite to force another government shutdown.
I can say without fear of contradiction that there is NO European democratic government that would support what is happening in communities across America. Prosecutions would occur, and people would face jail time. The very thought that Democratic lawmakers would fund the continued persecution of their population is frankly inconceivable to lawmakers in Europe.
In the UK, for example, we have a system called parliamentary recall, where an elected member can lose their seat:
A recall petition is the process by which an MP can lose their seat in the House of Commons.
Voters in the relevant constituency will have six weeks to sign the petition. By signing a recall petition, voters are saying they want their MP to lose their seat. Only those who want to see the MP removed need to sign the petition.
If at least 10% of voters in the constituency sign the petition, the MP will lose their seat and it will trigger a by-election. The recalled MP can stand as a candidate at the by-election.
If less than 10% of voters in the constituency sign the petition, the MP remains in post.
You should bear in mind that the UK does not have a written constitution, so there is little opportunity for politicians to bastardise it for political gain. Our Parliamentary system has its flaws, but it evolves through legislation to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. Like all governance principles, it can be cumbersome and frustrating. However, compared to the American system, it’s positively agile, and I believe it has at least a fighting chance of weathering the increasing threat from the far right, including Trump wannabe Nigel Farage in 2029.
If there’s one thing my immersion in US politics has achieved, it's to reassert my faith in the UK Parliamentary system, which, for all its flaws, does much more than the US to safeguard its citizens. Many point the finger at the UK and claim it to be a much diminished player on the world stage. To those people, I would simply say, it has already survived a self-inflicted economic wound by the same dark forces looking to reintroduce economic slave plantations in America.
In 2016, Nigel Farage led the campaign to leave the EU in pursuit of the same form of isolated exceptionalism that is underway in the US. This single action is estimated to have cost the UK economy more than £100 billion every year since 2016, with some estimates as high as £140 billion. That’s an economic hit of at least a trillion pounds. Ask a hundred economists a question, and you’ll get a hundred different answers, but there does seem to be a general consensus that it has reduced the UK's GDP by at least 4%, with some estimates as high as 6%. If you add to that the disastrous Liz Truss budget, which handed billions in unfunded tax cuts to the rich in September 2022, causing £30 billion to disappear from the UK economy virtually overnight, we shouldn’t even be left standing, but we are still here, owning around $800 billion of US debt. Perhaps it’s time to cash it in?
The UK is the real-life result of isolationism and the transfer of wealth from the bottom and the middle to the top. I have lived through it and witnessed firsthand the societal destruction resulting from conservative rule. Then, the subsequent attempt to cover up what they did by launching a culture war targeting immigrants and the transgender community tells you exactly who they are. We are living through a campaign to dehumanise the vulnerable behind the shield of ‘free speech’. American money is flooding into UK and European politics to soften the ground for US imperial domination. It is now even part of the US Strategic National Security Report.
I am in many ways uniquely positioned to see the big picture, and I have to tell you, it’s beyond terrifying because this isn’t just a US fight for survival; this is a global fight against the best-funded campaign to suffocate global democracy, in an attempt replace it with social Darwinism. We are already fighting World War III, not with guns, but in a global culture war. The objective of the US regime and its allies is to use its military strength to place the world in a perpetual state of anxiety and fear, as it attempts to deregulate the whole global economy in pursuit of unbridled greed.
In relation to the US, I come back to the realisation that the only opposition is coming from a small number of Democratic lawmakers and the Democratic base. It appears to me that the only coherent opposition is coming from ‘the resistance’. It’s easy to become disenchanted and feel you are not making a difference, but let me assure you, each time you push back on tyranny, small cracks appear. The resistance comprises good people who share my passion to deliver a better tomorrow. I trust them to select the right candidates who will deliver change, and they must use the primary process to effect that change. Collective action is always a challenge in a big-tent political party, but it’s essential to ensure that the head leads the heart when it comes to supporting the right candidates.
I would like to thank those who have reached out to me regarding the Political Truth Portal that I’m launching on 27th January. It reaffirms my faith that people are prepared to support an independent effort to provide a resource that steps outside the vulnerabilities inherent in the social media ecosystem. Many think of Substack as unaffected by the extremes of X and Facebook, but behind the curtain, the same shadowy figures are at work here, too, as author and journalist Shari Dunn pointed out in an excellent piece posted here back in July 2025.
To be clear, I have no intention of leaving Substack; I love it here. I built an audience from zero a year ago to almost 88k subscribers today. This has become a home for my brand of unvarnished expression. However, I am very mindful of the dark forces at work behind the scenes and the potential to silence dissent, as we saw in the run-up to the 2024 election on X. My aim is to use Substack as a gateway to get to know who I am and what I believe, while providing readers with the opportunity to reach beyond my work here and connect to my other efforts to advocate for the preservation of democracy and social justice.
Substack has and will remain the place where people can invest in my work. The great thing about it is that it creates an environment that provides free access to my work across a selection of media outlets. It’s not about making money; it’s simply about political and social justice advocacy. Subscription funding is simply reinvested, as are one-off donations. The objective is to add high-quality video content to the important work of literary advocacy. Expanding to a media server not controlled by the usual suspects provides resilience and redundancy unavailable within the social media ecosystem.
The Political Truth Portal (PTP) will provide a further destination for the type of work I do here, which will expand eventually to provide a fully searchable resource for both video, messaging and long-form writing, not just from me, but from the wealth of talent out there. I hope this explains a few of the many questions people have asked over the last 48 hours. This is about investing in a project dedicated to using truth to inform and educate, something I’m confident like-minded souls will be happy to support.

'The Joker is running wild and the safest place to be is in the Epstein files'. 🤣🤣🤣
That is the most awesome statement of the year so far!!! 👏👏👏
I can’t decide if I should do emotional eating or emotional drinking‼️. Going to the gym to think about it.
