What Zelenskyy and Ukraine have accomplished is truly amazing. He really does have the cards! I hope he wins the Nobel this year, which would really be a defeat for Trump, the biggest loser.
Zelensky’s ongoing political courage at home and his global public endurance in the face of attacks from the likes of the cowardly Magadmnistration are inspiring. I am also finding his refusal to conform to the old global postwar political orders’ dress code, always sporting pure black egalitarian clothing, strangely emotionally supportive.
When Trump is dead, officials will dig up his run down property he bought that people have wondered why, & for what reason? Is it a burial place for the children he murdered? I’m only going on what a Veteran of 2 wars spoke of when, as a child, he was trafficked. All of these wealthy powerful men & women have to face justice. That may come after they leave this earth.

This is a great article. I am in the middle of getting my US born kids Canadian citizenship (I'm a dual citizen living south of the border). Two out of three of them already received their certificates. I voted by mail to help Carney get elected - I had never voted since moving to the US, but this one was important. We need to be ready here to move up north if things implode (when?) And I fully plan to have the kids attend university in Canada even if we are unable to move soon. At least they should have the chance to live in a country that has human rights as a primary decision making compass.

What people forget is that responding to the betrayal of a friend in geopolitics does not happen overnight. It’s an immensely complex set of changes that need to be implemented to reduce reliance and Carney is the man to deliver. He’s doing a great job in very challenging circumstances.
I have great respect for the resilience of the Ukrainians with their leader at the head.
On the other hand, it is too bad that the Russian people have to endure someone like Putin as their leader, and that the troops who obey that leader have suffered the casualties they have suffered.
Like in the United States, they are following a greedy, evil, egotistical piece of work, and they will have to leave with the consequences of that misplaced loyalty. The Russians have paid dearly for it, and the American military will continue to pay as long as they keep obeying the abject man in the White House who, in turn, keeps dancing on the string between Netanyahu and Putin to the music they play..
I truly enjoy your threads. I hear so many willfully ignorant ppl IRL & on social media, it's nice to hear sanity and also have facts behind them. We have to stand together for our kids' grandkids' and their kids futures.
Trump will die as he has lived, a very lonely, selfish, and self-serving man with no true friends or anyone who truly loves him. All he has built, taken, or acquired will be left behind when he meets his maker.
With all due respect, sir, the Pope leads the Catholic church, not the catholic (universal) church. As a Protestant, I respect the position of pope as the leader of a vast number of fellow Christians and I value the many wise and faithful statements of this pope. But I do not view him as my leader.
