This has to be stopped. Thank you.

Great post. I don't think it matters to relitigate. . We have ample support that woman, children and families are dying from starvation, no water, limited medical supplies in Gaza. The Flotilla carrying humanitarian supplies was blown up. Our support must be for Humanitarian Corridors to be open .The US must stop supporting the war crimes , starving civilians is a war crime.✌️

Thank you. AIPAC has more power in this country than We The People. They’re part of the lobbying problem that corrodes our hope for change and real democracy. 😢. Free Palestine!🇵🇸

Thank you for this clear, courageous and urgently needed piece. You might be interested to learn that on May 6th the editorial board of the UK's "Financial Times" published a piece titled "The West's shameful silence on Gaza." It urges international actors (and particularly the Arab Gulf states set to host Trump imminently) to pressure Trump to revive peace efforts. It makes the point that silence = complicity in the appalling humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Get real. The Palestinians have been kicked out of Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey for being death cult terrorists.

The women and children are as indoctrinated as the men in Hamas. We see you and your age old friends and we know what you are trying to achieve. Remember that the Islamists partnered with Marxists before and then slaughtered them.

Read your history and stop painting the victims of the barbarous Oct 7 atrocity and Israel as the bad guys. They are humans and Hamas is inhumane.

I would challenge you to prove your statement about The Jewish people and Muslims contributing more in Dollars or % of income than Catholics or Protestants.

This is an incredibly biased and loaded with alternative facts my head was swimming reading it. Israel has been at war with her neighbors since the eve of independence in 1948. The Arabs who reside in the West Bank could have had peaceful coexistence and more had they accepted agreed peace plans. Had they not supported the destruction of Israel they’d have partners in education and business development. The truth eludes you and you do a disservice to your readers.

I’m very open to being corrected, but it seems to me very odd that it’s always everyone else that’s wrong when it comes to the occupied territories. The UN, the ICC, Human Rights watch. If you can point out the specific misleading statements, I’m happy to review.

Nobody is going to convince any sane person that Palestinians can be evicted to make space for settlers or that Administrative detention is a human rights breach or that passage down a street should be dictated by your status under the law, or even to dictate that there are indeed two judicial systems.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

Of course no one will be able to convince you of anything. You’re either not a student of history or you’re only getting your info from sources that validate your ideas. Either way I wish you and all people would consider the complexity of the region and its history before rushing to judgement. Israelis are not a single voting block. They disagree about many things especially the management of risk and relationships with the territories. Many people who were raped & murdered Oct 7th were people working for peace. They actively protested occupation and the current government. Israelis disagree about many things but when it comes to the security of the state and her citizens they are unified. Maybe one day you will visit Israel and spend some time interviewing Arabs and Druze Israelis. Maybe you’ll read a book or two about the country and its 78 struggle for peace. I assure you that after Oct 7th many if not all peaceniks have made the realization it’s just not possible to have peace without willing partners.

Truth Matters's avatar

I can see we will have to agree to disagree, but I refute the statement that I am misleading my readers. I am more than aware it is a complex problem, but nobody will ever convince me that the administrative detention of children is acceptable or that summary eviction of Palestinians is just or that illegal settlements are legal.

If you can point to specific statements that are misleading and provide fact supported evidence that the statement/s are misleading, I will happily correct, retract and or apologize. But this read a book BS is just that BS.

No international observers, no international press. Non existent underground command centers beneath hospitals. Do you think everyone came down in the last rain shower?

The first responders were approaching the IDF with no lights on so we shot them all and buried them with their vehicles, but were sloppy in not checking the dead bodies for mobile phone footage. It’s one lie after another after another. The IDF even shot their own hostages for God’s sake.

This isn’t personal or directed at you or the decent people of Israel, it’s an indictment on an out of control Prime Minister and a lunatic faction that wants to exterminate the Palestinians. I’m happy to dig up the quotes.

We are forever being told, “there there you just don’t understand, educate yourself” I could be in a classroom for a century and nobody could indoctrinate me into believing it is acceptable to kill 38,000 women and children and that withholding food, water and medical assistance is not a war crime. Or that the deliberate action of making Gaza uninhabitable is in any way a proportionate response to October 7. I simply don’t accept that and never will.

I am NOT pointing a finger at the Jewish people as I have made clear, I am pointing at a hard right government led by a man who is murdering women and children to stay in power.

He and his hard right lunatic friends want to cleanse Gaza of the Palestinians and that is wholly unacceptable.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

No one I’m aware of is attempting to do so. Israelis have been battling Iranian backed terrorists on multiple fronts for years. How can that end well for anyone? Wars are terrible

Israelis have also been in a constant state of protest against their governments terrible actions. There have been hundreds of thousands of people in the streets trying to end the war and bring home the hostages both alive and murdered. Where are your postings about the Iranian terror machine fueling death and suffering in the region? How about Hizbollah’s rockets that have been randomly shot into Israel that started as soon as Hamas started this war? You seem to be fixated on one side. I wonder why?

Truth Matters's avatar

Perhaps you might like to explain to my readers exactly what the terms were for the peace deal I assume you are referring to. Would that relate to ceding 69 illegal Jewish settlements to Israel?

There is in my view no alternative facts in the piece, simply the facts as I see them based on information publicly available.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

Because truth actually matters. It’s not just a tag line for a blog. The facts are painful for all who care about those who are suffering around the world from religious and political persecution. Do a deep dive and you’ll see Israel is a great country with problems.

I would love to go on with this but have to get back to business. Here’s an article that might help you. https://www.timesofisrael.com/bill-clinton-young-americans-shocked-to-learn-arafat-turned-down-palestinian-state/amp/

Very repressive treatment of the Palestinian people seems to have contributed to the aggressive terrorist groups of Hamas & Hezbollah. As the IRA became the violent arm of the Irish when they were oppressed by the English.

MaryMcC's avatar

I totally agree with you. I was very disapointed that this article seemed to downplay the centuries and complexity of oppression of the

Irish by the English in Ireland. The situation was far more than a 30 years one and far more than a religious one.

WolfinTW's avatar

That comment is so crazily one sided and misleading, also stating completely false narratives and knowing the history of that conflict from both sides, I'm sorry.

Felice Silk's avatar

Lies lies and more lies. The West bank was governed by Jordan. Israel captured the West Bank in a defensive war. There is nowhere in the world that captured land needs to be made into an autonomous state at the expense of security. Stop spreading propaganda and educate yourself and know the history of the region

Wendy Leigh's avatar

Does Israel even have free and fair elections anymore? Seems odd they would willingly keep the Likud party and its policies in power.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

Israelis have been out in the streets protesting their governments actions. They will go to the polls as soon as the situation stabilizes. They have a parliamentary system with representation from all people in the country including Arabs & Druze people.

Wendy Leigh's avatar

I hope it stays that way. He’s definitely out of control with goo goo eyes for a dominionist Gaza mirage. Not going to happen. The aid and aid workers need to be allowed in.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

Where is the outrage for the oppressed in Yemen? Iran? Saudi Arabia or China? Who is outraged by the Nigerian warlords butchering women and children? So many countries with dictators jailing and murdering it’s citizens. So much injustice and actual war crimes occurring daily in the world and there is no voice to their suffering. Curious don’t you think Wendy? One thing is there are no Jews in the equation so it’s not worth paying attention to. Israel is a tiny country surrounded by enemies who have been fighting to survive for many decades. When the homicide bombers are blowing up busses or pizza shops killing women and children the world was mostly silent.

Wendy Leigh's avatar

It’s in another threat. I’m staying on topic.

Paul Doppelt's avatar

The Israelis uncovered caches of weapons and tunnels up to hospitals and apartments where children lived. There is video footage of Hamas gunmen leading hostages thru the hospital to their hideouts. No one seemed to care…

WolfinTW's avatar

Yes, they still have free and fair elections in Israel.

Howie Noel's avatar

Forgot to mention 250 buried alive ,infants, children, elderly,by Hamas!!! Real peace loving citizens in Gaza!!!!They smell like Barbarians to me!!!

WolfinTW's avatar

There are sadly many things in that article which haven't been reflected nor mentioned regarding that decades long conflict at all and are very misleading and partially even flatout false.

WolfinTW's avatar

For a group that identifies as "Truth matters" you should educate yourself much better on the whole history of that conflict.

That sadly doesn’t make it easier to position yourself nowadays but the whole decades long history is way more complicated and one sided, partially very false narratives don't help at all to help solving that conflict.
